This new double pack of striped back tech gems will see all proceeds donated to dog shelters and NGOs supporting stray pups. Sensek opens with a slithering and groaning groove, 'Machine Morality,' for shadowy afterparties and Gringow brings a haunting melody to 'Towards The Dark & Cold.' Broascka's 'Epitelius' is an abstract affair with microscopic details scattered over a deep, dubby grove and Dragomir closes with two cuts - 'Alone With You' is a woozy late-night roller and 'Illusions feat Adina Oros' is a blissed out downtempo sound for the post-club hours.

Review: Emotional Response facilitate a new, prickly post-punk come dub fascinator by Shelter aka multi-instrumentalist Alan Briand. Helping redefine the term "digidub" to muted but compelling effect, this wry, checkered release themes each of its track titles after chessboard pieces, perhaps reflecting many of the power moves (rook castlings, last-minute pawn queenings) that have defined Briand's career so far: he's already demonstrated a dexterity in straddling several styles, from ambient, Balearic, improv and even acid Indian raga. All recorded live, this new, fuzz-packed release betrays an undying love for a particular dub sound: 'Kings, Knights & Rooks' fleshes hugely cosmic synth swells out of initially wan beginnings, whilst 'The Queen's Sacrifice' goes on to upend minimality entirely for maximal cavern-verb and 'Shutting Out Bishops' stars as the B-side's wackiest mumble-toasting; all tracks pay homage to a long, territorialising and power-hungry digidub tradition, with Prince Jammy, Alpha & Omega, Bush Chemist and Jonah Dan all namechecked as influences.

Review: Japan's Fourth Wave Record Factory sure does know how to serve up brilliantly beguiling sounds that ate you well out of your here and now. Next up is this, 'Dondon Bushi' 7" by Shoukichi Kina, Champloo and Tomoko Kina that explores a mix of Okinawan traditional sounds and modern grooves. The Mbira dance mix of the A-side jam is a bubbly rhythm with worldly percussion and soulful melodies that echo folk majesty and are topped with a wonderful weird vocal from Shoukichi Kina. On the flip, there is a more lazy and downtempo style dub rhythm, 'Tie Island' (No Man's Island mix) which is another worldly trip.

Review: One of the more surprising trends of the early 1990s was the fusion of contemporary club culture - or at least the slow-motion end of it - with what would have once been considered 'church music'. While it was made famous by Enigma's global hit 'Sadness', Sloopey G's 'Domine' EP was reportedly recorded and released first. Certainly 'This Is The Day (Notre Dame Remix)', which naturally heads this THANK YOU reissue, sounds like a prototype of the Enigma sound - think British street soul beats, dreamy ambient pads, sampled monk chants, tactile bass and spoken word vocals. The EP also includes both similarly formed original bonus cuts, 'Victime' and the house-influenced 'Cathederal Dance', as well as previously unheard bonus cut 'Love In Heaven', a deliciously, shuffling and saucer-eyed affair.

Review: Reimer Eising, aka Kettel, and Lennard van der Last, aka Secede, had already been lifelong friends by the time they began working on When Can. The Dutch producers wanted to create a seamless listening experience that would unfold and develop as a film does, using cinematic-leaning sounds to achieve their big idea. The whole thing feels like a narrative, a beginning-middle-end, which is doubly impressive when you learn there was no grand plan to begin with. Just two pals exploring what might come next. Originally released in 2012 - hark!, those heady, innocent days - what's perhaps even more astounding than the picturesque, immersive soundscapes here, is the fact this is the first time When Can has made it onto vinyl. Having said that, 12 years ago was another time and place, not least in terms of music sales, so let's not dwell on what everyone was thinking by not bringing this out on wax sooner. Instead, savour every moment of the rich, dreamy electronica.

Review: Luke Sanger returns to Balmat for brand new album Dew Point Harmonics, which directly follows on from the producer's acclaimed Languid Gongue in 2021. A thirteen-tracker of dense but fibreglassy electronic mood pieces, the Norfolk native nudges us into a series but emotive but individually unique set of corners, vectorising a multiplicitous, abstract sound-space. After the opening arp-sequences of 'Solid Steps' and 'Flutter Env', we move into the more roughshod concrete of 'Poppers' then swerve through the dawny plucks and boughs of 'Morning Person' and 'Open Sauce', before finally settling to rest on a patently vibraphonic note, with 'Universal Vibrational Frequences' and. Review: Memories in Beach House by Seaside Lovers is one of those much sought-after city pop gems. It comes from 1983 and on now is it reissued on vinyl. The album features three iconic Japanese musicians of the 80s - Akira Inoue, Hiroshi Sato, and Masataka Matsutoya (who is the husband of Yumi Matsutoya) and as master keyboardists, they deliver a lush, harmonically rich collection of island fusion sounds that blend jazz and electronic influences into new forms. The mostly instrumental tracks are occasionally accented with light Balearic vocals and so although summer may be over, this album transports you to the sea with its relaxing beachside vibes and smooth atmospheric sound.

Review: Out of many recent stirrings of hype (a sold-out Cafe OTO live show, numerous reissues of their Warp-era material, etc) Seefeel return with a renewed sense of solidity, delivering their first project since 2011. As ever with the pioneering electronica crossover band, Everything Squared combines the sonofantasmic dissociations of shoegaze and dream pop with the flashier and more sublime ends of Warp-era electronica and ambient dub. Mainly composed and performed by the core duo of Mark Clifford and Sarah Peacock, with bass on two tracks from Shigeru Ishihara, the record is a finely hewn intonarumori, working in original, but heavily pitch-bent vocals around light, but still scapular sound beds. An implied throwback to the chillout rooms of yore, the distinctively hoary hum of 90s analogue ambient still rings as truly as ever here.

Review: Cosmo Sheldrake's Eye to the Ear is a challenging album to categorise, with the versatile talents of this English singer, producer, composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist turning to a range of styles, from classical choral works ('The Feet are the Link') to electronic compositions created from birdsong, exemplified by 'Shiny Is the View.' It even ventures into the utterly unique with 'The Snapping of Shrimp,' a track incorporating the sounds of a regenerating coral reef. This is Sheldrake's second full-length album, arriving six years after The Much Much How How and I. Both albums explore themes of symbiosis and environmentalism, prominently featuring horn ensembles. However, Eye to the Ear leans more towards slow, contemplative tracks and a diverse soundscape. 'Breathe Round Corners' stands out as a particularly poignant song about environmental degradation, accompanied by the calls of endangered birds. The most riveting aspect of Sheldrake's music is his use of unusual samples, such as sounds from Sri Lankan frogs, a humpback whale, snapping shrimp, blacksmiths, and even 15 golf balls bouncing on a wooden floor. His environmental themes are influenced by scientific expeditions with his biologist brother, Merlin, to remote locations. The track 'Lichens' includes samples from a site in Ecuador where a new species of psychedelic mushroom was discovered.
