Review: The latest Hands Off joint features three artists making waves in intriguing corners of the deep house firmament. Desos opens up the A side with the dreamy groove of "Dubs", before Space Age lays down the classic, Mr Fingers-flavoured haze of "Sunday Rain". Desos returns on the flip with another subtle yet punchy cut, keeping the melodies submerged and sublime on "Jaaa" before Common Mode takes things in a distinctly dubby direction with "Beauty Queens".
Review: Erol Alkan lights the fire when he first played "Ross Ross Ross" in his essential mix. This track became a must have. It's been almost 6 months & since then, Sebastian dropped a dozen remixes. Uffie, Kelis, Daft Punk, Mylo, Editors, Kavinsky and more got the Sebastian treatment. Then he concentrated on his own productions to deliver 2 monsters. The dramatico-cut up beat "Head/Off" & the club banger "Walkman". Those tracks have already been tested by the whole Ed Records crew. "Walkman" was the pick time of Ed Banger X Vice party at Sonar this year. Sebastian will release his first album in 2007.
Review: The mysterious crew behind the equally elusive hot jam "Witness" (WITNESS01) return from overseas and deliver another batch of limited cargo - in the form of these two addictive disco-house looped tracks. On the A side, we have a familiar groove on "Kiss!" which is looped to perfection - that definitely needed an edit. On the flip, "Run" is the real winner on here, in all its '80s neon-lit glory. Early support from Midland, The Black Madonna, Seth Troxler, Terry Farley and Luke Solomon.
