Notes: The ARP 2600 is arguably the most iconic and recognizable synthesizer of all time. Having been used in countless records, film scores, TV shows and game soundtracks since its appearance from the 70's through to today, the ARP 2600's sound remains an essential part of the music world.

The new ARP 2600 M delivers the sound admired around the world, in a more compact and portable format and including added features that make it the ideal incarnation of this historic synth.

When the ARP 2600 FS was announced in January 2020, it quickly became a phenomenal success with musicians all over the world recognizing the faithfulness to the original ARP 2600.

The ARP 2600 M is around 60% the original size, making it lighter, more portable and easier to place and use in a studio. It integrates the same analog circuitry and components as the ARP 2600 FS, thus faithfully reproducing the characteristic ARP sound.

The ARP 2600 M is built in Japan with the same care and extraordinary quality standard as the ARP 2600 FS, and uses the same analog components to accurately reproduce the sound and feel of the original.

The Spring Reverb has been re-engineered and adapted to the new size body to the same lush effect.

The ARP 2600 M comes with a dedicated Carry Case that not only protects your instrument, but also makes it easier to transport, thanks to its custom casters with special anti-shock damping technology.

There is also enough space to carry other gear together, like your favourite volca, SQ-64 or MIDI controller!

It is not by chance that the ARP 2600 has been so extremely popular to this day.

More than a synthesizer, the ARP 2600 M is a complete sound design studio. Even today, the ARP 2600 stands as a bridge between the individual elements of modular synthesis and the immediacy of a production / performance instrument. Included are an ample supply of oscillators, envelopes, a filter and amplifier - all of the building blocks of analog synthesis. But the ARP 2600 M goes even further, with a spring reverb tank and even a pair of built-in monitor speakers. Also present is much of the versatility of a vintage modular system, including a ring modulation, lag and voltage processors, an envelope follower, audio preamp, a clock-able switch, noise source, a sample-and-hold module, signal inverters, an auxiliary mixer, and even a set of parallel-wired/multi jacks.

The new ARP 2600 M is not only faithful to the original, it also includes an array of added features that will make it even easier to use:

Plug and play: Connect any class compliant MIDI controller such as a KORG microKeys, nanokeys or SQ-64 to one of the ARP 2600 M's USB ports (USB-A and USB-B) and automatically get full control of your instrument!

Resized: The new size makes it easier to visualize your patch and also allows you to use shorter patch cables

Notes: COSMOS is a drifting memory station designed to work with meditative states through music. The design of the controls, functions and generated soundscapes are intended to evoke, in both performer and listener, states and experiences inherent in meditation, such as limitless space, fluidity, spontaneous development, presence, the ability to hear, tranquility, the experience of subtle harmony and happiness enveloping the whole world.

From a functional point of view, COSMOS is a large array of sound memory, in which recorded sounds undergo constant recombinations, spontaneously generating an ever-changing soundscape. This is achieved in three ways - by a mathematical shift based on the relationships between large prime numbers (the size of all delay lines are different primes), an asynchronous operation of the LFO, and modulation with a slowly changing chaotic signal. As a result, it allows the endless layering and processing of various sounds, as in a looper, but without an intrusive, repetitive loop.

COSMOS generates rich, fluid and evolving soundscapes perfect for ambient music. Using COSMOS, you can play an entire meditative solo concert while being in a spontaneous flow and without using studio-prepared sequences, backing tracks and other things that can't be a reflection of the "here and now".

Notes: ENNER is a very expressive sound tool that can generate bits, pads, FX, noises, clicks, glitches, but also function as a cool vocal mic with built-in analogue FX and much more! A musician with a rich imagination and who's experienced in playing ENNER can perform an entire exciting gig using just this synth.

As an instrument, ENNER is a unique analogue synthesizer with the key principle being that all signals that make sound pass through and are managed by your body. Your hands become the central part of the circuitry. Touching different contact pads with different parts of your fingers and palms with different amounts of pressure, letting signals pass through your body defines the mixing, volume, timbre, feedback and other parameters of synthesis. Human skin has much more complex electric properties than we think. Our skin provides not just resistance but also some capacitive properties and even nonlinear dependence of conductivity from current, its direction and time during which the current was applied. All of this affects the sound, making you the key part of the synthesis process.

All pots of ENNER are metallic, and also function as inputs or outputs. Touching a pot can change not only the parameters but also patch the audio signals.

ENNER consists of:

The array of filters with fixed frequency properties (the triangle in the centre): the stereo high pass filter (HPF), the stereo bandpass filter (high mid - BPFH), the stereo bandpass filter (low mid - BPFL), the stereo lowpass filter (LPF). Stereo means that the filters have separate inputs for left and right channels as well as separate outputs. Sliding on the filters' pads with your fingers you can create a rich stereo image where each channel may have not only individual volume properties but also timbral ones. The outputs of the filters are mixed together and connected to the main output. Also in the triangle, you have a stereo direct input (DIR) that lets you bypass the filters.

The modulated stereo delay. The input of the delay is the two pads on the top of the triangle (DLY blue). The output of the delay is mixed with filter output and connected to the main output. Also, you have delay output connected to the pads placed on the left and right sides from the top of the triangle (DLY orange) that lets you create feedback and other interesting effects. The delay has two separate lines (left and right) with individual TIME controls (BPMER pots), common FEEDBACK and the common pot that defines the amount of self-modulation (BIZZARE). The BPMER pots are also touch inputs for delay time modulation.

On the right side of ENNER, there is a five-voice synthesizer with individual adjustment of frequency for each voice (TUNE knobs) with the possibility to change the pitch of all voices simultaneously (PITCH knob). TUNE knobs are also the outputs of the voices, so by touching them you can patch the voices to the filter's inputs. The synthesizer has separate output pads for each voice (pads OUT 1-5), individual modulation inputs (MOD 1-5) and ring modulation outputs (the RING 12, 23, 34 numbers indicate which voices are sources for the ring modulation). Connecting MOD and OUT pads of one voice with your fingers will pitch it up. The fifth voice has an additional modulation pad MOD 5- which can shift the pitch of the fifth voice down (connect it to +12 pad or any pad that has some positive signal including the output of the fifth voice).

On the left side of ENNER, there is the second synth that has one master generator, the output of which is divided six times by two with individual outputs for each stage of division (PULSE 1-6). This synth is aimed at creating rhythmical clicks, basses and octave tones. The frequency of the master generator is defined by the TEMPO knob. The output pads &1,2,3 are logical multiplications of different PULSE outputs giving additional and more complex rhythm combinations.

ENNER is also an electro-acoustic noise instrument. It has a piezo pickup attached to the front panel that captures sound from the casing itself. There is metallic spring and you can attach rubber bands to the panel to create various acoustic sounds. The piezo mic can capture clicks and scratches you make with your fingers, and it also allows you to create filtered feedback. Not only that, it can even capture your voice singing over the panel! To get sound from the piezo you have to connect the PIEZO OUT pad with some filters or delay inputs. Applying filters and delay on the piezo out while the panel works as a mic, catching the audio signal from the speakers connected to the ENNER output lets you create very cool acoustic feedback-based effects. PIEZO GAIN adjusts the piezo sensitivity.

The bottom of the triangle (NOISE pad) is the output of static pink noise.

External in (EXT socket and EXT pad) lets you send an external audio signal to ENNER and process it through the array of filters, delay and other ENNER stuff.

Besides the features it shares with the CARRIER, there is also PW modulation on the square output, which is great for a sub oscillator or MOD BUS Source.

This isn't a classic waveshaper! Featuring FOLDing harmonics up to 5 octaves above the fundamental frequency, internal FEEDBACK, and full range AM. A HIGH and LOW clipping switch offers even more harmonic experimentation! Switchable inverting attenuators on each CV input!

Thru-zero phase modulation in the ANALOG realm! Unlike its digital counterpart, analog TZ-PM has its own character we've come to expect from analog circuitry. Best of all, it can be combined with the WAVESHAPER and is independent of the CARRIER's linear FM circuitry!

This is where things get interesting- select from the PULSE, RAMP or SINE output of the MODULATOR (or inject your own SOURCE) and vary the bus INDEX manually or with CV. Control the overall INDEX here! MOD BUS send destinations include classic linear FM, AM, wavefolding, feedback and TZ-PM INDEX, with variable amounts and polarities!

Castor & Pollux is a Roland Juno-inspired oscillator. It contains two digitally-controlled analog oscillators implemented using a faithfully modernized version of the original Juno 106 design. Like its inspiration, it can give you that wonderful '80s sound with independent and mixed ramp, pulse, and sub outputs. But the twins do not stop there- the second oscillator can be used to layer in thick detuned sounds, harmonically complex hard synced waveforms, or as a fully independent second voice.

Sequential Tracking/Sampling Register.
Notes: Sequencers, sequential switches, counters, analogue shift registers... Modular synthesisers provide a wealth of creative sequential functions for controlling and processing signals. Choosing which of these to include in a system can be a bewildering task.

Except when you don't have to choose. Step 8 represents a new type of modular building block: a sequential tracking/sampling register, which can be configured to provide any of these functions, and many more.

At its heart lies an analogue 1-to-8 signal switch feeding an octet of high-stability track/sample-and-hold stages. Each of these has its own analogue output with an attenuation slider, in addition to a gate output. LEDs visualise the status of each stage in real time. The switch can be controlled sequentially using the built-in 8-step counter, or addressed directly by an analogue control voltage (CV).

Numerous advanced circuit techniques are used to avoid the issues that often plague analogue switching and memory modules. The result: totally transparent signal paths with low noise, distortion and voltage 'droop', yet high bandwidth and precision.

Add to this the ability to 'mute' the inactive stages, pause the counter, reset it, change its direction or even shift the stages on each step, and the possibilities quickly become near-endless. A scanning output takes things even further, particularly making sequencer or addressed voltage source use easy and intuitive.

Complex oscillator featuring two independent VCOs
Notes: Thru Zero Complex Oscillator

A new complex oscillator, featuring two independent VCO's. Both voices have a unique signal path and flavour. Complex cross modulations entangle them together, opening up completely new timbral territories.

Features include the Thru Zero trinity; Frequency, Phase and Amplitude modulation.

Each oscillator also has its own Low Pass Filter, which works great to mellow the harsher tones from complex intermodulations.

Each VCO has great tracking and temperature stability, there is no distinction between a carrier and modulator.

The FM bus lets you modulate the index of each individual voice, with linear and exponential inputs for external sources. There are also inputs for Sync in, with both soft and hard sync.

VCO 1

The left VCO signal chain starts with a shape function, that let's you morph between triangle and saw. This waveform is also available as a separate output.

Next is a sinusoidal wavefolder, which changes its response dramaticaly based on shape of the waveform. The circuit is based on a modified version of a design by Barrie Gilbert from 1977, popularized by Open-Music-Labs (used with permission).

This circuit also creates the possibility of Thru Zero Phase Modulation, here the depth is controlled with the third slider. The source is normaled to VCO 2, but external modulation sources can be patched in, and the depth can also be modulated with CV.

Lastly there's a 2-pole Low Pass Filter, before going out the MAIN output. All parameters can be CV controlled, and feature handy attenuators at the inputs.

VCO 2

The first slider is a continuous waveform shaper, that morphs from sine to tri to saw.

This waveform then enters the Thru Zero Amplitude Modulation (Ringmod) section. The slider sets the depth of modulation, with the source normalized to VCO 1. The depth can be CV controlled, and an external source can be patched as well. The result is also available on a separate output, pre wavefolder/filter (VCO 2 sine).

The third slider is a wavefolder, it's based around a novel wavefolding topology, with a unique and more aggressive sound compared to the sinusoidal folder of VCO 1.

The wavefolded signal goes into a 2 pole Low Pass Filter, and out of the MAIN output.

A digital module that may be used as an 8-output clock and audio frequency divider, a bi-directional binary counter, or a component of the Leibniz binary system.
Notes: Xaoc Devices Erfurt is a digital module that may be used as an 8-output clock and audio frequency divider, a bi-directional binary counter, or a component of the Leibniz binary system, i.e. a programmable digital oscillator.

Erfurt features an 8-bit register which holds its current state: an 8-bit number representing digital values from 0 to 255. The state is available at the front panel via eight binary (5V gate) outputs and reflected by the 8 status LEDs. There are three clock inputs: one incrementing the state at each impulse, one decrementing, and one resetting the state to zero. The state may also be changed manually with two buttons.

When operating alone, the state of Erfurt changes by 1 at each impulse from the clock inputs, so that it counts from 0 to 255 in a cycle (modulo 256). This yields the signal frequency divided by 2, 4, 8, etc. up to 128, available at individual bit outputs. Depending on which clock input is used, the clock patterns correspond to the so called mathematical or musical divisions of the rhythm.

With two different clocks patched to the inputs, the counter alternately increases and decreases its state, and ultimately it counts with a rate proportional to the frequency difference between the clocks. A third clock patched to the Reset input may be used to shorten the sequence thus making the cycle incomplete for even more rhythmic diversity.

When there is a Leibniz data source connected at the back (even as simple as Lipsk), the state increases or decreases in larger steps, depending on the data present at the Leibniz bus (eg. the value programmed by the Lipsk buttons). The counter overflows quicker, and produces more complex patterns.

The state of the counter may be used as a phase input to a digital wave table. Connected to other Leibniz modules, Erfurt may play various roles, eg. it may scan waveshapes in Jena, produce stepped voltages useful for making interesting glissandi with Drezno and any VCO, generate gate patterns animating the spectrum of Odessa harmonic banks, spawn pseudo-chaotic sequences when fed back to Lipsk, etc. Since Erfurt is based on CMOS logic (no CPU!), it can be clocked at very high frequencies (exceeding audio rate), therefore some selection switches are provided for clock pre-scaling.

A 3D audio mixer with two audio inputs that uses binaural audio algorithms.
Notes: Quasar is a 3D audio mixer with two audio inputs that uses binaural audio algorithms. You can seamlessly move sounds around your head, change the angle, height and distance in real time.

Quasar creates a 3D sound image by binaural audio processing. Two positions POS A and POS B are available, which you can virtually place and move at any angle, height and distance around your head. Realistic room reverb can also be added as another cue for distance perception. The audio signals at Input 1 and Input 2 can be flexibly routed to either or both positions via an internal matrix mixer. The coordinates of the positions can be set manually or manipulated by CV. For example, you can have sounds orbiting around you, coming from higher up or lower down, from the front or the back, moving towards or away from you.

All inputs also have digital high and lowpass filters, so that you can decide which frequency bands go to which position. In addition to POS A or B, however, you can also route the sound to the center position CNTR. The center position takes the input signal and distributes it evenly to the left and right ears without further processing. For example, you can route the low end to the center position and have the higher frequencies distributed to the outer A and B positions.

The module works best with headphones because the algorithm basically mimics the shape of the head and pinnae, which are responsible for our directional hearing. But even if you play the sound through speakers, you will hear a clear difference from classic panning.

With its big aluminum knobs, LED rings, rubber potentiometers and mechanically solid components, Quasar is fun to use and invites to be creative.

Notes: Cornflakes, being a granular sampler, does not play its samples back conventionally, but split them into smaller bits called grains. Furthermore, the grains are divided into four simultaneous voices to allow for polyphonic pitch control or harmonization.

The module has the ability to time-stretch, pitch-shift and produce harmonics. It's calibrated to 1v/oct to encourage a bit of musicality. Recording and playback can be triggered manually or via CV.

The module features 32 memory slots for samples stored on an SD card and you can run audio through it live for real-time processing.

It uses a combination of different techniques like controlled randomness, morphing, and storing (or locking) synth-voice parameters in externally sequencable CV-controlled slots.

The synth voice is a digitally-controlled-two-oscillator-FM and AM-analog engine with two envelopes and cross-modulation.

These are some of the things that can be done with it:

Sequence Preset Slots externally for changing percussion or synth lines
Add subtle randomness to any parameter for slightly changing sounds, or go wild for unpredicted surprises on every trigger
Morph sounds between Slots

The synthesis board is an analog circuit with two VCOs, two envelopes, AM, FM, high-pass filters, and a two-channel mixer.

VCOs:

Triangle core VCOs with V/oct inputs and Fine and Coarse controls.
VCO 1 waves: Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, and Square.
VCO 2 waves: Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, Square, Double Sine, and White Noise.
VCO2 has two separate wave outputs, one for the AM and the other for the FM and the Mixer-Channel 2.

ENVELOPES:

Two AHR (Attack, Hold, Release) envelopes.
The hold time can be set internally or externally (Gate ON) for each envelope.
Envelopes can be faded from logarithmic to linear responses.
Each envelope can control the Pitch/Tone of the VCOs (Pitch Envelope), the amount of AM or FM (Envelope 1), the VCA for both channels (Envelope 2).

AM:

The amplitude modulation goes from VCO2 to VCO1.
It can be set in two ways: straight to VCO1 or through a VCA controlled by Envelope 1.

FM:

The frequency modulation goes from VCO2 to VCO1 and from VCO1 to VCO2 (XFM).
FM can be set in two ways: straight to VCO1, or through a VCA controlled by Envelope 1.

MIXER:

Two-channel mixer for the two VCOs.

HIGH-PASS FILTER

There are two HPFs. HPF1 filters the mixer output. HPF2 filters the white noise.

DIGITAL CONTROL

STRUCTURE:

Each project contains twelve banks; each bank contains twelve slots; each slot contains a sound.
All projects are stored on an SD card.

RANDOM:

Randomize values on a per trigger basis
Independent random control for each synth parameter
Set ranges to any random value for controlled randomness
Relatively attenuate all parameter-random amounts with a single global random fader
Populate slots or banks with randomly generated sounds

FREEZE/REVERT :

Take a snapshot of the whole project, modify it and go back to the original state.

MORPH:

Parameter interpolation between two slots on a per trigger basis.
Control the balance between the two slots with one fader - crossfade style!

CV ASSIGN:

Any of the six CV-connectors can be configurable as both inputs or outputs and set to different ranges (0/10V, 0/8V, -5/5V, 0/5V).

Action over faders has an effect on the twelve Slots. Use hints: Live tweaking, homogenize, "tame" a Sound Bank, or modify all Slot parameters while sequencing the Slots via CV-input.

Overview

«Klang» is a unique take on polyphonic control within Eurorack.

Displaying chords in a circular clock-like display, and giving the user immediate control over every aspect without "menu diving" makes for an easy to use and inspiring module.

The module can store up to 99 chords, where each chord is made up of 4 voices.

Each voice is represented by a colored indicator on the clock-face which in turn is controlled by an encoder.

The indicators points to notes on the chromatic scale drawn in 360- around the clock-face.

Interface

The big grey encoder in the middle of the module lets you browse the chords - the active chord and total chord count is shown just above the encoder on the display.

The + button lets you ad a new chord. The new chord is added after the currently active chord, and the new chord is then set as the active chord.

The - button removes the current chord.

Inputs

The module has 3 inputs - 1 trigger input and 2 bipolar CV inputs.

Trigger input

The trigger input triggers a chord change.

If the direction input is unconnected, a single trigger results in a single step in the forwards direction.

Direction input (+-5V)

The direction input normalizes to a single step in the forwards direction.

You can feed this input a bipolar CV (+-5V).

Direction maps the total chord count to 5V. This means that +5V results in a single trigger progressing +n steps, where n is the total chord count.

A negative voltage will do exactly the same but resulting in backwards stepping.

0V equals no movement.

Transpose input (+-5V)

This bipolar CV lets you transpose the current chord up or down within 1 octave.

It is therefore a 5V/oct input.

The reason for this is that it is intended to be used with an analoge voltage source like the Pressure Points from Make Noise, or any other analoge sequencer.

It is much easier to fine tune a 5V/oct signal with a regular potentiometer than a 1V/oct signal.

Outputs

Each voice has a separate color coded 1V/oct CV output.

Notes: Chronoblob2 is a digital delay module!

Just like his little brother, Chronoblob2 can sync to a clock signal. Patch one into the SYNC input and choose a multiplier or divider for rhythmic delays. Or leave SYNC unpatched for access to continuously variable delay times!

Chronoblob2 offers four different delay modes! Dual delay mode provides two separate delays with shared controls. Ping-pong mode extends this intermingling even further by placing each delay in the feedback loop of the other.

Single delay is the classic Chronoblob mode with feedback SEND and RETURN. Patch in a lowpass filter for smooth, shadowy echoes, or get weird with a wavefolder or any other effect! Cascade delay mode expands on this archetype by also placing the second delay inside the feedback loop of the main delay, creating a wild multiplying echo effect.

Chronoblob2 provides control voltage inputs for TIME, FEEDBACK, and DRY/WET, and bipolar attenuators for each so you can dial in just the right amount of control.

In Dual and Ping-pong delay modes, although both delay times are controlled by the main TIME knob, you can voltage-control each independently with the two TIME CV inputs. The right TIME CV is normalled to the left one so you can easily control both with the same signal. Additionally, the left TIME CV is normalled to five volts, allowing you to use the attenuators as offsets from the position of the main TIME knob.

Also in these 'pink' modes, the right audio input is normalled to the left input, and the right audio output is normally mixed into the left output (patching into the right jack breaks this connection).

Like the original Chronoblob, you can select the style of time modulation with the slide switch. Choose tape mode for sweeping pitchbend effects or fade mode for smoother, cleaner changes.

Chronoblob2 offers an INFINITE LOOP button and gate input to shut off the delay inputs and lock the feedback at 100%.

Random timing pulses are also available. The rate of change of all outputs is voltage controllable over a wide range.

Just like the original RVG it uses four unijunction transistors - three of them are configured as ramp and hold generators and the fourth is an LFO. It produces two separate random voltages but also the clock time between pulses can be randomised.

The module offers some extra features: it is possible to add a bias voltage to either of the random voltage outputs, and also add slew to Voltage 1. There is a CV control of the LFO frequency and clock speed as well as CV control of the Time variance.

The internal LFO can be tapped thanks to dedicated outputs for both sawtooth and triangle waveforms, and the waveform shape follows the time variance. The internal clock can be started using an external gate or with the help of the manual trigger button that works when the clock is stopped.

The TR-IN input allows an external clock to be used instead of the internal LFO. There is also a gate output, the gate length changes in proportion with the time variance, and the duty cycle of the gate can be varied from 1% to 99%.

A device based on the sound of tact switches, hardware and PCB material
Notes: Soundwich is a device based on the sound of tact switches, hardware and PCB material. In part it's a compact and sturdy form factor for interaction with piezo experimentation. The piezo disks are directly mounted to the undersides of the top and bottom PCBs creating a direct connection to the sounds of the tact switches. The two 3.5mm jacks can be used as either ins or outs. One is a momentary out and one is always on. The momentary output allows you to hear only the depressed click sound of the tact switches while the always on output allows you to hear both the depress and release of the tact switches amplified by the two piezos. When you shake the Soundwich you will hear the sound of six washers sliding along machine screws and colliding against the two piezo pickups. Using momentary out while shaking will only allow that sound to escape when disks are compressed. Compressing along the edges will provide different filtering amounts depending on where you press [the 7 stacked lines indicate greatest amount of filtering/attenuation with less and less filtering as your travel counterclockwise till there is nearly zero]. Routing audio or CV through provides a fast and tactile handheld momentary on device.

A simple passive piezo, tact switch and hardware based sound device which can expel audio or accept it.

A piezo pickup with a constant output.

A piezo pickup with a momentary output when disks are depressed in center point.

A piezo pickup with momentary out through 8 different filter amounts when depressing disks along edges (volume is also attenuated).

An exciter for resonators and effects.

A shaker using internal washers to strike the top and bottom piezos.

A shaker with momentary out through 8 different RC filter amounts.

A lo-fi vocal mic when pressed directly against the lips (and/or momentary on when using momentary jack).

A very quiet lo-fi speaker.

A tactile momentary on switch when routing audio through it (in one direction).

A momentary on w/ lowpass filtering and volume attenuation when routing audio through (the reverse direction).

A momentary on plus attenuation of modular signal when routing through the RC filter.

A shaker and clicky trigger source for some modular synthesizer modules without needing an extra boost to modular levels.

When boosted to modular levels, clicks and/or shakes can be used to advance a sequencer for example.

When placed on a hard surface, each side can create different rhythm sounds when tapped.

This 10HP wide mixer features five channels. Each channel has a bi-colour LED switch that can instantly mute or un-mute the channel, replicating the oscillator on/off switches on the original Model D.
