Review: Monday Morning is back to roll out some more lush house depths with a second EP, this one featuring founder Manuel De Lorenzi in the company of his pals Giacomo Silvestri, Freddie Wall and Fichs. 'Sun-Rise' is a nice gritty but vibey opener with percussive skip and dry hits. Fichs's solo cut is a loopy workout with nice bulbous synths and a pared-back rhythm that gets ever more inescapable while De Lorenzi then offers up the radiant synth warmth and dubby undercurrents of minimal house shuffler 'You Already Know It.' With Giacomo Silvestri he then closes on the more percussive loops of soft house soother 'The Big Apple Community.'

Review: OGE White has released plenty of great slabs of wax by the likes of Philipp Boss, Hollow Fraud and Natalie Gardiner, and this time out it is the returning Enzo Leep who impresses with four tunes in collaboration with Giralda. 'Beat Goes On' starts things off in jazzy fashion with some manic chords dancing drunkenly about the piano next to a jumble of percussion and weird samples. 'Aroa T Lo Miro' then kiss it fresh with more breakbeats, steamy vocal samples, high-speed beats and a funky mood, then 'Hell Or Heaven' has a dry, percussive rhythm that is marbled with characterful vocal stabs. 'Conscious Of My Conscience' is a surefire winner with its seductive 80s soul vocals sampled from a well-loved duo.

Review: Legendary techno producer & one-time member of LFO Gerrard aka Gez Varley returns using his G-Man alias to present us with four tracks of dub techno magic. Anyone familiar with his classic tracks like 'Quo Vadis' and 'Spartacus' will know what to expect here. Rhythmic basslines, grooved out percussion & dubbed out synth lines on top. On the A-side, 'Catch' kicks us off with typical minimalist groove, the tempo neither too fast nor too slow. 'Dice' is a classic example of dubbed out tech house, perfect for DJs looking for a transition tool. On the B-side, 'Throw' is made for late night car journeys on European highways. Closing out the release is 'Strike', possibly the funkiest track of the four. A release for anyone into modern and classic Detroit influenced dub techno.

On the A-side of this limited edition 7" is 'Get Up Gaff,' a James Brown-inspired rework with some nice analogue 808s driving forward the raw vocal loops and jacked-up drum hits. Review: Pun-tastic dance musical fun from whomever genii run and operate the Subsdance imprint. Here, Marvin Gain - you read that right - presents four special cuts for the label's second outputting, thoroughly impressing the listener with four otherwise unnamed cuts. 'Track 1' grates and ripples against the ears with an electrified beat overlaid by a watery vocoded hip-hop sample, which refrains along the lines of, "before we get started", signaling a wilder EP to come. 'Track 2' dives headfirst into the numbers-stationed dance, with intermittent, radio'ed-in vocal samples interspersing an electro-breaksy 4x4 trekker. Then, the inverse B1 ajars a fresh en-trance, bowling down a more primal, radical route; then we emerge from the thicket and into the canopy, with exhalatory airs and fantasy loom birds dancing overhead on the no less than dreamatic closer.

Deep House
Review: Rhythm Section's latest favourite, (Oliver) Gallegos, evidences his mastery over the art of what we like to call the "speech tune" - a format almost as old as time. Think Rum & Black's 'Slaves' or Underground Resistance's 'Transition'; the formula is as such; a slow-built dance beat, at least over 110BPM by our estimation, over which a rousing historical speech plays out throughout the track. Though this form lends well to a 90s rave aesthetic, Gallegos finds himself at a post-comedown period of history, indeed in which "rave" is often bittersweetly thought to be anachronistic; and in which house music often reigns supremer. So, then, does he bring a record-breaking, body-moving homily vocal sample to an incredibly arranged set of house arpeggiations and medley-style sample cut-ups, working in a sort of auditory bricolage but nonetheless bringing them together under a seriously reflective memorial dance-dome.

Review: We don't know much about the freshly minted Worm Records, but we can tell you that proceeds from the imprint's debut release will be donated to the Livetolove campaign, which raises funds for food banks. The EP itself is a corker, with a mix of rising stars and established heads providing genuine dancefloor goodness. Bristol-based Gallegos kicks things off with 'Rockin', a deliciously dreamy fusion of Balearic deep house loveliness and snappy, Chicago house-influenced machine drums, before long-serving producer The Mole goes deeper, smoother and jazzier and the wonderfully tactile 'Festern'. Over on side B, Tartan Records chief drops the extra-percussive, off-kilter drum workout 'Booster', while Ruf Dug drops a previously unheard rework of his Italo-disco inspired fave 'Manctalo Beach'. Top stuff!

All in all, a masterful record.

Review: Taking their namesake from the infamous mob boss of the same name, DJ and producer Carlo Gambino urges us to 'Ride The D Plane' on his latest EP for Tasteless Thieves. The titular opener rattles and scuttles away, its mix revelling in the many fast delays and transitional echoes that harken minimal cut-ups and drops to come thereafter. Alex Arnout comes through for a much weightier remix on the A2, yet he also straightens things out into a more flattened progressive techno shape. 'Small Talk' jibes out with waterily twisted-out vocals either lamenting or hyping up the necessity of small talk, while closer 'That's Right' verges, that's right, on minimal breaks, making for a thoroughly tricksy sendoff.

Review: Docile Recordings says it likes to think of its sounds as evoking nostalgia for future times, and for resonating familiarly while constantly evolving. Next up is a 32nd outing that spans from pragmatic spiritual funk to loose, head-banging frivolity. A Garcia is the man behind it and opens with 4/4 minimalism with soulful synths and smart percussion on 'A Different Time' which is advanced by ringing highs and detuned horns. 'The Best Of Times' is another blend of innovative sound designs and low-key, rolling drums and 'Til The Wheels Fall Off' then gets more edgy with more stark hits and unbalanced drum loops. 'Ringin' & Swayin' shuts down with the eeriest harmonies and glassiest melodies of the lot to make for a curious and intriguing EP.

This release showcases Garnier's signature range and opens with 'Playing with the Low-End,' a fierce 2-step track that nods to the heritage of UK club sounds. This is peak-time energy - the opener 'Inspired Eyes' moves like a coiled spring, tight percussion snapping against a rolling low-end that feels primed for sweaty basements and strobe-lit corners. Review: Italian producer Gemil returns with Planet X on Deep Down Space Records, marking the label's second release. 'Dance Phobia' immediately grabs your attention with its serious bass groove while the energy builds. A mid-tempo minimalistic house track enriched with vocal samples that add a house appeal, while the track’s tension mounts through the break before cruising smoothly to its end. "Reaction" dives even deeper, presenting a creative, addictive rhythm track with a tech appeal. Review: Enman Recordings is a brand new label that kicks off with an EP of classy deep house sounds from Gene. The opening gambit is a nice loose percussive tumbler, 'Mayonaka Jam', with its warming bass pulses and percolating funk groove. French house master Franck Roger remixes and does so with more kicking and fulsome low end, shuffling drum and zippy pads. 'No Accident' on the flip has a more stripped back and eerie sound for building atmosphere and 'Fall In' closes with a nice deep, heady sound, sparring synth puddles and wooden hits for extra bite. A tasteful 12" to start this label off in style.

Review: Swedish twosome Genius of Time have made some incredible house records over the course of their 15-year career, with a handful of fine breakthrough records ('Drifting Back', 'Same Old Place') being followed by periodic doses of greatness. Last year, they decided to turn their hand to vocal house music for the first time, delivering two typically excellent EPs. Here they deliver volume three in the series, first joining forces with Ashar Khan on the two-step-goes-analogue-deep-house shuffle of 'You Make Me' and the rubbery breakbeat house warmth of 'Magnified'. Over on side B, the honeyed voice of Khan is replaced by the sweet soulfulness of Matinda. The track she features on, 'Kinetic', is darker, moodier and takes far more cues from the analogue-powered sounds of vintage Chicago house and Detroit deepness.

Review: Gerd is a real daddy of the Dutch scene. He has never really fit into a box, never really had his hyped up moment in the sun, but just consistently delivers high quality music that does a brilliant job when played nice and loud. Frame of Mind houses his latest missive, which kicks off with the jacked up percussive house excellence of 'Brave New Era' before 'Drive' swings on 1st, dumpy kicks and is topped with fine analogue percussion, as is Gerd's trademark. There's a wiry synth energy to the sleazy 'Nexus', 'Nebula' channels deep, dark cosmic atmospheres and 'Droid Romance' is run through with the spirit of aliens.

Review: Roger Gressen explores the finer end of the dub spectrum, whether crafting deep techno or micro house. He is a master of deft synth designs that always brings his sparse soundscapes to life. Once more here you will be gazing on at wonder as lithe melodic details drift by over serene arps and lithe drums. 'Jubilee' is super seductive with its wispy of melodic light and 'Nikuman' rides on pillowy low ends with eons of open space above for you to get lost in. The exquisite eight minute closer 'My Quiet Place' shuts down with glitchy claps hanging next to widescreen synth smears. Gorgeous.

The second limited edition record from the label brings us slippery, dreamy forward-stases in sound, not credited to any one artist except for remix-edits by Hessa and Alvaro Medina. Between utility and uselessness lie 'Honey Ball' and 'Da F... Out', both of which foremostly serve the floor through their essential functions of central, best-foot-forward beats and mono-ised basses; yet the tracks' also provide a sublime value with their xtra FX: piscid hat slips and indignant voxxes. Review: The always-cultured Sushitech is back with another of its well-chosen reissues, this time focusing on the London-based Get Fucked. These tunes dropped in original from back in 1999 on Eukahouse and have since become cult classics. First is an unreleased Sweet mix of 'Dreams Are Made' which is lush, dubbed out tech with some magnificent jazz chords. On the flipside, Kenneth Graham steps up with his She Likes To Ed-It remix which is silky smooth and hypnotic for late-night zone-outs that will lock in the real heads. This is a superb limited-blue splattered vinyl that looks as good as it sounds.

Review: This new 12" on Aliens On Wax declares that Chicago Jack Is Back and we are fine with that. The raw, early, street wise sounds of the Windy City are still some of the best house has ever given rise to and that is encapsulated across four new cuts from Gettoblaster and two collaborators. First it's Baggi on 'Throwin' Down' (feat Chip E) then it's Terry Mullan on 'Armando's Ghost'. The flipside has the solo cuts though both feature house legends Chip E and Joe Smooth making this the most authentic package of jack you will have heard in some time.

Review: Chris Gialanze brings plenty of dancefloor clout to this fresh drop on the Beeyou label. The title cut 'Gunna Bee' is already one that has been doing the rounds and doing the damage recently so it's great it finally gets a proper release on vinyl. As well as coming as s dub mix, also included is 'So Criminal' which is a steely and metallic garage infused tech cut, while 'Tough Cloud' entirely switches things up with downtempo and breakbeats combining in old school post-rave or second room fashion to provide a great comedown after the main room fun. As such this is an EP that shows Gialanze has greta style and versatility no matter what he's making.

Review: After the much loved Delano Smith remix of Gigi Galaxy's 'Interview With An Alien' turned so many heads, Det 313 label has secured three originals from the Detroit producer otherwise known to as Gary Martin. Each shows he has a unique approach to the art of groove making, with 'First Night In Lemuria (DET313 version)' slower and more restrained than many in the game - almost like a Sheffield bleep anthem pitched down and augmented with a delightful, prodding bassline. 'Spirit World' is the big room pleaser of the trio, with a bubbling acid arpeggio slowly degrading and re-building throughout and some lovely sci-fi synthery going on. 'Inevitable' is the cheekiest and cheeriest of the three, all sharpened hi-hats and swirling electro beats and breakdowns that reveal its simple but damn effective musical heart to all and sundry. Nice work all round.

Review: After a superb outing on the Ninja Tools compilation, Gogo Gadgeto now steps out with a first ever full solo EP and it comes on the Lumbago label. These sounds are chock full of personality and a little spookiness. 'Gadgeto Theme' has snappy, silvery drums setting the tone under twisted synths and vocals. 'Electric Spliff' gets more warped and wonky with its bold leads and snappy old school tech beats. 'Spooky Adventure' is just that with its rugged drum funk and haunting pads and 'Weird Science (Gadgeto edit)' brings a twisted mix of rock riffs, snappy beats and electronic cool.
