Zero
Review: Rhadoo has long been in a class of his own when it comes to crafting intricately detailed minimal. Despite doing so for decades, he still finds freshness in his particular milieu, as he does again here on Secret Society, teaming up with multi-discipliniary artist and sound wizard Traian Chereches under the RH.CHER moniker. The cerebral 'Gwen' beings with liquid synths and gloopy sounds, dry hits and kicks and vocal swirls that infuse the whole thing with eerie soul. Giegling main man Edward brings a little more low-end heft to his remix, then 'Zero' gets more wobbly and busy with hiccuping sounds, swaggering drum rhythms and icy hi-hats all sure to sound huge at DC10 this summer. Cabanne remixes with a deft touch that keeps the silky minimal flowing going but with more edge.

Review: Fletcher heads up the Social Currency label but you may also know him from his superb work with Mosaic boss Steve O'Sullivan. It's no wonder then that he calls up his dub techno buddy for the second outing here. They kick off with 'Flutter' which is a minimal dub masterpiece with light and airy synths, yep, fluttering up top above rooted, rolling drums. Fletcher then goes it alone for 'From A Different Place' which is a little more anxious in its loops but still has gorgeous melodies streaming through the mix. 'This Day Has Been Too' is another fine solo cut that explores insular and inward moods with great deftness.

Review: Eddie Richards' vaults are surely some of the best there can be for tech house heads. The Brit was there on the ground, helping to shape the earliest incarnations of the newly emerging genre back in the 90s and early 00s and few have bettered it since. Proof comes from this reissue of a pair of remastered beauties on new label likethis. 'Destiny' has never before been on wax and is a silky, synth-laced sound with crisp drum funk and then the B-side jam 'The Soul' is a dusty and stripped-back mix of drums, hits, swirling pads and irresistibly loopy grooves.

Smokebelch II (Beatless mix)
Review: The seminal Sabresonic from UK trio Sabres of Paradise gets a tight remaster and re-issue here, and what a magnificent snapshot of the halcyon days of UK raving it is. Considering the personnel behind the project (Andrew Weatherall, Jagz Kooner, and Gary Burns), it's of little surprise that the music has lost none of its cutting edge - still sounding as fresh and pointed as it did upon first release in 1994. Known for their unique blend of electronic, dub, and rock influences, the band carved out a space that felt both experimental and accessible, and it would be hard to overstate their lasting influence on modern electronic music. Sabresonic stretches from hypnotic grooves to raw, industrial textures, with moments of beauty scattered throughout. 'Wilmot' is a standout, with driving percussion and atmospheric layers, while 'Spiritual High' offers a more expansive, drifting vibe. But it's 'Smokebelch II (Beatless mix)' that's likely to bring a tear to the eye of even the most hardened dancefloor veteran, with its bittersweet lead melody and celestial harmonics combining to create a timeless piece of ambient bliss. They don't make 'em like they used to, kid.

Review: Hidden Sequence returns, this time to kick off a new label Magistrate, and hot on the heels of their quick-to-sell out 'Silent Roots' last year. This fresh EP seamlessly bridges classic 70s Jamaican dub with modern, bass-heavy and dubwise delights, starting with 'Isms & Schisms'. The horns are brilliantly inviting as are the low ends which have been well worked on a vast desk and come packed with echo and effects. 'Magistrates Dub' is an immediately infectious skank that shifts into a deep, dub-heavy exploration and unites past and present dub influences.

Review: Recorded live on September 10, 1993, for BBC Radio 1, this set strips back the studio polish in favour of raw, surging energy, breathing new life into core tracks from their Brown Album era. Their explosive 1993 John Peel session was a broadcast that captured the UK rave pioneers at their most visceral and unfiltered. The versions of 'Lush 3-1', 'Walk Now...' and 'Semi Detached' found here are looser, leaner and more urgent. 'Lush' in particular throbs with a relentless momentum, shedding its original texture in favor of a tougher, more improvised drive. It's a perfect showcase of Orbital's gift for live manipulation, transforming structured studio pieces into kinetic, spontaneous soundscapes. This reissue boasts newly commissioned artwork by Intro and aligns with the legacy of the Peel Sessions as a proving ground for boundary-pushing talent. Critics and longtime fans have praised the EP for its intensity and fluidity, supporting Orbital's status as live innovators. Radio Sessions is a nostalgic artifact and a reminder of how thrilling and forward-thinking Orbital's sound was.

'TR Nautila' rides on uneven drum breaks with claps loud in there mix, until they aren't, and a stumbling bassline that underpins a morph into jungle-adjacent madness. 'Panic Button' has springy sounds and sludgy low ends, precision-tooled drums and a celestial backlight that pushes and pulls you emotionally. 'MD25' has an industrial clang and clatter that evokes being lost in a strobe-lit warehouse and 'LCC Rotation' is a freewheeling percussive gem with moody pads for all-out assault in the club.

Review: An ever-present name in underground house, Alex Celler is back once again on Baby Ford's cult Trelik label. This is his third and maybe best outing yet with 'Twilight Firedancer' being a long and extended dub tech workout with wobbly bass and off-balance drums topped with glowing chords that bring occasional relief to the pressure of the groove. 'Mescaline' is much more busy with abstract pops and squeaks, synth modulations and an urgent, tightly programmed minimal tech groove that you would expect of this label. It's high-class music for mind and body.

Review: Originally released in 1993 and finally being reissued now, this techno gem stands as a bold and exploratory debut that merges the pulse of Detroit techno with the UK's rich multicultural sonic landscape. The UK trio Jamie Bissmire, Lucien Thompson and John O'Connell channeled the spirit of early techno pioneers while weaving in dub, tribal rhythms, trance atmospheres and UK rave culture, creating a distinct, genre-defying sound. Tracks like 'Messenger' and 'Pacekeeper' shows their rhythmic intensity, with rolling basslines and echo-laden percussion that nod to both dub and techno traditions. 'Revelation' floats into ambient techno territory with celestial synths, while 'Earth 6' hints at what Goa trance might have sounded like had it taken cues from Detroit rather than industrial sounds. 'Better Nation' has a mesmerising rework from none other than Carl Craig, lending his Detroit touch to Bandulu's already genre-fluid sound. The album's opener, 'Guidance', blends tribal percussion, progressive structure and a mammoth bassline into something uniquely its own. Though the production bears the unmistakable marks of early 90s UK techno with its raw and experimental sounds, it's precisely this era-specific charm that gives Guidance its enduring appeal.

'Primavera Anjo' opens with hypnotic techno, while 'Planet Earth' dives into squelching acid, blending past and future in one fluid motion. Review: Detroit's Robert Hood returns to vinyl with a techno triptych that distils his vision into something sharp, agile and impossibly refined. Though long synonymous with minimalism, he hasn't sounded this raw in yearsi'Art Form' arrives like a jolt, all jacking 909s and acidic flickers that feel urgent and alive. It's his first straight techno release since 2024, and it pulses with a kind of stripped-down euphoria, framed by Hood's ear for clean lines and stark rhythmic discipline. 'Art Class' deepens the tone, winding through heavier acid modulations that buzz beneath a more spacious arrangement, less confrontational but just as potent. On the B-side, 'Art School' leans into the cinematic mode, pairing sci-fi synth washes with grinding low-end pressure, rolling somewhere between introspection and propulsion. Though the tracks first landed digitally earlier this year, hearing them sequenced here offers a deeper read into Hood's blueprintiacid as method, groove as design. In his own words, M-Plant is about "only what is essential", and these three cuts prove just how much feeling can be encoded in that minimal frame. It's a statement of intent, executed with absolute clarity from one of techno's true architects.

These four 'Serpentine' variations hear four sonic squamata slither round a steady lattice of deeper beats, the emphasis fixed on a mood of sage solemnity. The record bills itself as "dub techno" but, in our estimation, would fit better for use as a choice set of downtimes, serving well as Wim Hof breathers in otherwise fast, clobberer DJ sets. No wonder the duo refer to themselves tunes as progenitors "feather-tech", a genre term we will almost certainly be stowing away in our minds for reuse in the future.

'Fluid' then brings more lithe, urgent rhythms with deft sound designs adding a futuristic edge and 'Interstate' then brings more raw texture and tension with heavy drones and paranoid spoken words that pan about the mix. Review: Richard Fearless, London-based DJ and producer, returns with a daring reinvention of his electronic vision, delivering an unpolished, analogue-driven techno masterpiece. Stripping away any semblance of commercial sheen, he dives headfirst into a world of disintegration and overload, where every track feels like it's teetering on the edge of collapse. Drawing on his deep affinity for the rough textures of underground techno, the work channels influences ranging from the industrial growl of Ramleh to the acidic pulse of TM404, with moments that recall the claustrophobic minimalism of Mika Vainio and the haunting drones of Loop. Fearless is unafraid of pushing boundaries, his machinesifed by years of use and a tangled web of circuitryiemitting strange, almost sentient sounds, as if alive in their own right. What emerges is an album that doesn't simply reflect the artist's influences, but speaks with a distinct, personal voice. Tracks like 'While My Machines Gently Weep' and 'Death Mask' bear the hallamrks of live takes and dub-inspired mixing, creating a haunting, almost otherworldly quality, the machine noise blending with echoes of the past. Fearless has long been obsessed with dub and here, he allows its principles to guide him, distilling decades of musical history into something that feels deeply present. A vivid portrait of an artist grappling with his own sonic ghosts and the fractured landscape of modern dance music, it's quite the spectacular.

Sam Buckley never disappoints i whether or not he's using his cheeky Roy Of The Ravers moniker i regularly displaying a genuine gift for composing absorbing, off-kilter but emotive melodies. Opener 'Fenix Haus 6' wastes no time energising the dancers, with murky acid following deep bass over sparse machine drums. Whispers Into The Void
Fleeting_637
Review: A another quietly stunning entry from one of dub techno’s most enigmatic and revered producers. Known for his minimalist precision and deep atmospherics, Atobe crafts two tracks that expand his sound even further than before. The title track, 'Whispers Into The Void', opens with soft, floaty chords and gentle house rhythms. The tempo is restrained, the textures delicate, creating a sensation of drifting weightlessly through mist. It’s a meditative, lower BPM piece with crisp production and a warmth that draws you in slowly. On the B-side, 'Fleeting_637' steps up the energy without abandoning the mood. With a more pronounced, bubbling bassline and submerged chords, it leans into classic dub techno territory. The track feels aquatic, its sonic elements swirling and shimmering as if recorded deep beneath the surface. Atobe doesn’t chase trends, he sculpts sound patiently and with purpose. 'Whispers Into The Void' is another subtle, essential release in his powerful catalog.

Review: Three dynamic electro and techno cuts show this talented producer's knack for fusing crisp production with a deep sense of melody and groove. The title track, 'Black Elements', opens with a lingering melody that drifts over sharp, punchy beats. The production is immaculate, allowing each element to shine while maintaining an atmospheric depth. On Side-2, 'KAH' taps into classic electro-funk, nodding to Kraftwerk with its analogue warmth and robotic charm. The track's playful basslines and crisp percussion create an infectious groove that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Rounding out the EP is 'Motor', a dynamic blend of crunchy acid lines and robotic funk. It captures a futuristic yet retro electro vibe, balancing gritty textures with sleek, forward-thinking rhythms. Overall, Black Elements is a stellar showcase of Max Watts' ability to honour Detroit's rich electronic heritage while pushing the genre forward. Fans of electro and techno will find plenty to love here. A powerful slice of Detroit electro from his own Limited Network label.

Review: Jamie McCue is the man behind the Canadian label Silent Season and his newest concern, Moon Garden is fast becoming just as vital. This fantastic fourth outing comes from Transient Vessels, who McCue describes as "a local artist and good friend of mine." Opener 'Another Day' is a slow-motion motion dubbed-out melon twister that echoes the early Leftfield sound and is detailed with both textured synth leads and more introspective chords. 'Denihilism' is just as slow motion but deeply absorbing with plenty of wide open space for the pads to linger and the drums to churn and hypnotise.

Review: Detroit alum Max Watts teams up with fellow Tampa arriviste Keeno18 for a contemporary slice of noir dance legitness. Taking a premixture of dub and minimal techno as their starting point, both artists prove unafraid of gobby sound. Watts' 'Dusk' makes good use of tuned-up doumbek and Keeno's 'Undying Prophecy' alloys his rainsoak-synths with a run-your-mouth yawp line; a lead that emulates humanoid vowel sounds, with the cheekiest of intents.

Review: Peter Ivanyi is Ghost Warrior, and it's an apt name for a producer who operates in the shadows between several drum & bass sub styles. His sophisticated sound designs and impeccable rhythms have taken him to the likes of 31 Records, re:st and The Collection Artaud but here he lands on regular home Well Street. 'Black Box' pairs deft drum programming with jazzy cymbals and blasts of textured bass, and 'REM' is then backlit with a celestial synth glow. A Josi Devil remix brings some low-end hustle and bustle and 'Dream Transmission' is a minimal stepper with an eerie deep space edge and absorbing sense of late-night tension.

Review: This new one from Stefan Ringer on his FWM Entertainment combines two distinct releases in one: 3 tracks from his 2021 Meta Music EP and his darker alias Black Sued's 'Rogue' EP. It's a yin-yang journey of sound that shows his range and quality. 'Monotone' pairs signature deep chords and soulful vocals and distorted bass with minimal drums, while 'New Plan' is a driving, rhythmic workout of persistence and groove. 'YIA' offers meditative chords and affirmations set against a thunderstorm backdrop and the flip, the title cut explores shadowy jazz textures with a mysterious groove, 'Maze' marches forward with urgency and layered rhythm, while 'Deep Dirt' closes with gritty, broken-machine chaos. Together, these EPs make for a powerful emotional and sonic contrast.

Review: Pinch's Bristol-based Tectonic stable marks a new chapter with Tectonic Sound, a six-part, 24-track vinyl series, discomancing an unknowable but part steerable future while also leaning on firmly implanted roots. Each 12" pairs longtime affiliates like Peverelist, RSD, Kahn & Neek and Om Unit with a sharp cast of first-timers, among them Flora Yin-Wong, Re:ni, Sicaria, Yushh and Beatrice M. What emerges is a restless sweep through low-end electronics that flirt with dub, techno, soundsystem pressure and textural detail, in a set shaped by the label's lineage but unbound by nostalgia. Most tracks were written specifically with Tectonic in mind, adding a sense of cohesion to a compilation that prizes forward motion and liminal spaces.

Review: There's a fresh perspective pulsing through this four-tracker from the Paris-born, Seoul-based producer. While the blueprint is techno, the spirit leans into trance and psychedelia in a way that feels totally natural and confidently restrained, not revivalist or retro for the sake of it, a reimagining of where the genre can stretch to.. 'Cloning Procedures' opens with a steady, driving pulse. There's drama in the air but it never turns into theater. Sci-fi tension builds with vocal samples that feel pulled from lost films and the trance elements slip in like vapour. Nothing feels forced, just perfectly placed. 'E-Tribes' leans into a tribal swing, blending dubby trance with slick rhythmic phrasing. The low end glides, the percussion dances and the whole thing rides a beautifully hypnotic wave. Flip the record and 'Mad Caps' continues the trip. It's deep, rhythmically alive and rides a psychedelic edge without tipping into chaos. That deep bassline anchors everything. Closer 'Datura' dives further into shadowy territory, murky and submerged, the kind of thing that sneaks up on a dancefloor. Everything here sounds tuned in and future-minded, while still grounded in solid techno architecture. A release that hints at a bright path forward. With only his second release, Krijka is a name to watch out for.

Review: Tectonic honcho Pinch is celebrating 20 years of the dubstep and bass music recordings outfit with a fresh 24-track compilation, which of course has been further split into 4 EPs and counting to optimise bassweight and tonearm response. Pinch is reminiscent and proud: “It feels like Tectonic has been a part of so many communities. There’s something instinctive that binds all the releases - something that goes beyond words.” This fourth comp-selects highlights the work of midcomers in the scene, such as Kahn, Neek, Gemmy and Neffa-T, predominantly courting the 140s but indulging some experiments, with ‘Motion Light’ creaking through strange midnight bazaar SFX, and ‘This Is This Isn’t’ going buckwild on hard-clip kicks and rib-tickling rims.

Luv Is Blind
Review: Back by popular demand, this reissue from one of techno's true originators reminds us just how vital these tracks still sound. First released in 1992 and briefly reissued in 2000, these four cuts showcase a unique hybrid of Detroit precision and early European rave energy that continues to inspire. 'The Warning' leads the charge with classic machine-driven Detroit funk. Its rhythm is relentless yet controlled, mechanical yet human. The track feels like a transmission from a future imagined decades ago. 'Ghost' follows with a harder edge. It channels the energy of early Belgium rave with sharp chord stabs and that unmistakable Hoover-style synth. It hits fast and leaves a heavy impression. On Side-B, 'Ex-' is the most cinematic cut. Sci-fi textures, punchy drums and an off-world sense of atmosphere blend the sharpness of UK rave with Detroit's emotional weight. 'Dark Basse' is the banger of the EP with a stripped-back approach. Its minimal but moody framework makes it an instant attention grabber, offering something both haunting and dancefloor effective. These tracks remain timeless and prove once again that true underground techno never goes out of style.

The wispy synths which constantly seem to be tumbling down above the liner drums of 'Ghost Coder' make you feel as though you are falling into an abyss. 'Base-Chain' is what greets you upon arrival - muscular drum funk with hurried kicks and nebulous synth colours. Elsewhere 'Proof Of Real' is a shimmering deep techno transmission and 'You Are Not The Zeitgeist' brings uneasy and paranoia in its impish and restless synth stokes. Review: Now two decades deep, dubstep proliferators Tectonic celebrate with The Tectonic Sound, a 24-track manifesto spread across six 12"s, seismically shuttering any competition on a continental scale. Founded in 2005 by Bristol system sojourner DJ Pinch, the label has long straddled dubstep, techno, and the outer reaches of dub and bass music. Now several new fissures are calved open by Re:ni, Yushh, Sicaria, Flora Yin-Wong and Beatrice M., all of whom appear astride foundation shakers RSD, Om Unit, Kahn & Neek, and Peverelist. Almost all were written specifically with Tectonic in mind, not just its sound but its sensibility, echoing the early Skreams, Digital Mystikzes and Jokers that defined a certain subjective experience of dance music, not once erasable.

What Could Have Been
Review: Over a decade after first turning heads with his breakout EP in 2013, the Berlin-based producer continues to tap into a sound that feels both raw and thoughtful. The A-side track 'Scintilla' doesn't waste any time. A twisted acid line squirms its way through a rugged rhythm section, oozing that unmistakable old skool flavour. It's grimy but not sloppy, holding things together with a steady pulse and a vibe that nods to warehouse floors and smoke machines. The energy is infectious and unfiltered, with a wild edge that feels earned, not forced. Then the B-side takes a surprising turn. 'What Could Have Been' steps back from the chaos, opening up into something more reflective. The pace slows, the synths stretch, and a soft, almost cinematic atmosphere settles in. It flirts with early techno forms but leans into melody and mood over sheer force. There's a clear Detroit influence here, but it's refracted through a different lens. The result is mechanical yet full of soul. Two very different sides, each one revealing another layer of a producer who still has plenty to say.

One such artist is Guillermo aka Existencia Pasajera, whose work has been shaped in southern Chile and so smartly reflects the region's newly emerging creative depth. Her label debut blends acid, stripped back rhythm and heady grooves, while closing the release is Map.ache of the Giegling collective, whose minimalist approach offers a meditative counterpoint.

Review: Brazilian-born, Berlin-based ROTCIV brings decades of underground weight to this four-tracker for Element of Impact, melding EBM-flecked techno, acid-laced electro and muscular synth-funk with a sense of high-stakes control. 'Enjoy Your Trip' opens with prowling low-end and distant stabs, while 'Losing Collagen' flickers with scorched textures and hi-NRG tension. On the flip, 'Entourage' rides a sleazy, broken rhythm into machine-funk territory, and 'Ancient Machines' closes on a darker, rusted-out tip. ROTCIV's sound, honed since the 90s across both Brazilian raves and Berlin basements, hits with precision hereilean, jacking and full of intent.

Melt The Chains
Runs Every 15 Minutes
Runs Every 15 Minutes (DC Salas remix)
Review: London-based Timothy J Fairplay has long dwelled in the murkier corners of dance music, his work shaped by EBM, industrial, electro and the long shadow of post-punk. A sometime collaborator with Andrew Weatherall and a fixture of the darker fringes, he returns here with a new four-tracker that leans into slow-motion propulsion and paranoid atmosphere. 'Home Visitor' opens with a creeping unease, its syncopated kick and glassy pads suggesting something between a horror OST and a strobelit basement. 'Melt The Chains' is denser, grubbier i all scorched textures and pummelling snares i while 'Runs Every 15 Minutes' stalks forward like clockwork, driven by squelching synths and faintly psychedelic drum programming. Belgian producer DC Salas closes the set with a remix that lifts the original out of the gloom and into something more fluid and cosmic, adding a taut groove while preserving its hallucinatory core. As with much of Fairplay's catalogue, this isn't club music in the conventional sense i it's nocturnal, suggestive and oddly transportive, like a lost radio transmission from the underworld.

Surkit - "Calibre Remix"
Surkit - "Ben Long & Oliver Way Remix" (Surkit feat. Jon)
Review: For those well-versed in Detroit techno’s underground lineage, the name behind 'Surkit' needs no introduction. Originally released in 1991, 'Surkit' became a mantra for Detroit techno masterpiece where UK bleep and Detroit futurism met in perfect harmony. A few years later LTJ Buken took the hook and made a d&b classic in its own right furthering the reach of this epic gem. This new EP gathers the inclusion of the 1990 first edition gives listeners a chance to hear the raw genesis, complete with its unforgettable synth melody and chugging bassline. The Keith Tucker vs Strand 'Circuitry Mix' updates the original with a more futuristic slant while the 'Diode Reprise Mix' gives the central melody space to shine. Side-B turns the spotlight to inventive reinterpretation. Calibre’s remix is the left-field standout: a broken-step techno excursion that feels edgy and dynamic. Then Ben Long & Oliver Way’s take (featuring Jon) explodes into a breakbeat and rave odyssey, pumping up the rhythm while keeping the dreamy synth spirit intact. It’s euphoric, expansive and perfectly engineered to take over a dancefloor. This EP honors the roots of Detroit techno and the various directions the remixers pull it helps this classic have ever more legs than before.

Pinch - "Tectonic Sound"

Re:ni - "Sunrise On The Superloop"
VIVEK - "Gone W3st"
Review: Two decades in, the Bristol-born institution still sounds like the future. This wide-ranging compilation gathers new blood and familiar faces into a deep, weighty journey across techno, dubstep and adjacent frequencies, dialling in a vision that feels both forward-looking and steeped in sound system tradition. Standouts include Re:ni’s tightrope-tensioned roller, Sicaria’s deconstructed club mutations, and Beatrice M.’s finely sculpted rhythmic hypnosis—each debuting on the label. Elsewhere, Kahn & Neek return with militant low-end drive, while Om Unit and RSD summon familiar ghosts of the Tectonic back catalogue in newly sharpened form. What unites it all is a spirit of clarity and pressure, true to DJ Pinch’s guiding ethos: heads down, eyes closed, bass-first. It’s not so much a retrospective as it is a fresh statement of purpose—24 tracks across six plates designed to test systems and point toward what’s next.

Review: Consecrating knitwear and 12" vinyl, Monaberry are a minimal house label operating out of Berlin. Various taglines include "we are electronic music" and "we work all night and day", and their latest output is a wordless admission of this fact: resident demo-senders and inner-posse-members including Super Flu, Niixii, Mode In Tlv, Goom Gum, Dancing On Lego and Derun all pass through the wax floodgates here. With promo text likening fine progressive house movements to even finer knitwear, this is a delicate tracery of progressive minimal sendoffs, best among them 'Magneto' and 'Feel The Same'.

Demdike Stare - "Process Ion" (part 1 - remix)
Demdike Stare - "Religious Dub" (part 2 - remix)
Review: Organic Analogue returns with a rediscovery of Beppu's rare dubbed-out electronica and circuit-bent techno. Andrew Hargreaves is the Manchester-based producer behind this alias which was first making waves back in the late-2000s. Back then it was three limited CDr EPs in 2009, which came with just 50 copies each, that made a stir and still stand up today. As such, the sought-after recordings receive a proper vinyl pressing and have been mastered by Miles Whittaker. Two distinct remixes from Demdike Stare also add further quality and contemporary context to the origins, which blend dub techno and braindance with textured noise. IPOP continues Organic Analogue's tradition of spotlighting overlooked talent having already done so with names like DJ Guy and Jean-Louis Huhta.
