Review: Deep bleep visionaries NAFF send out more woozy transmission from their Montreal HQ. This time in the form of Healion, a so-far-anonymous new addition to the label's experimental fold. Across four originals they paint a watercolour like scape of textures, often touching on early jungle as the framework; the Tony Justice meets Seba style acid bubbles and wafting pads of 'About Breathing', the halftime dub waves of 'Vetiver', the Boards Of Canada flavoured ripples of 'I'll See It When I Believe It' and the skittering Kid Drama / autonomic bubbles of 'Gathering'. Complete with a remix from Ludwig AF, it's another essential broadcast from the NAFF crew.

Review: Montreal maven Priori's continued rush of beautifully rendered club magic manifests in a new album on the NAFF label he co-steers with Ex-Terrestrial. As you may well expect by now, his approach balances beauteous ambient passages full of advanced synthesis with delicate techno and rolling broken beat, imbued with a sense of warmth and playfulness but never at the expense of the music's emotional depth. Stand-out moments on Your Own Power include slowly unfurling downtempo bliss-out 'Shkrub' and the brooding, cerebral passages of 'The Village', but truthfully the whole album plays out in a cascade of immaculate production and heartwarming composition. The NAFF gear always flies out, so don't sleep on this one.
