The Truth (feat Bella Hardcover - dub) (7:19)
Strolling (6:21)
The Truth (feat Bella Hardcover - acappella) (3:41)
Review: The Kwench label is back with more tasteful and timeless house and techno fusions here as Ad & The Persuader link up for The Truth EP. The title cut opens up with some lazy, wavy, dubby grooves with heady pads and then a dub version makes it even more fleshy and horizontal. 'Strolling' keeps things classy and deep cut with pillowy kicks toped with starry-eyed melodies and some glitchy perc. An cappella closes out the EP for DJ use. This is a quietly excellent 12" that oozes quality.

AT3 (6:27)
AT5 (6:11)
AT6 (6:09)
Review: Amorphic and Tensal hook back in to the machine to dialyse their crafts once more, with 'Highland Frequencies' offering up four, machine-numbered atoning lambs to our mech overlords, following up the equally arrayed 'Distant Landscapes' EP (2024) on Blueprint. Now bringing their distinctive cataloguing system to the discographic vanitas Mord, four more 'AT' tracks make for an irresistibly well-layered, synthetically one-of-a-kind release. Only 'AT4' gets a subtitle, 'The Sleepwalker', where a sandman's slumbrous, lollygaggling beats somehow, at the same time, betray a subconscious, paradoxical restlessness.

Tensal - "Thermal Cycler" (6:13)
Pergo - "Lume" (5:35)
Review: Drei Vinyl launched back in 2023 and has slowly but surely amassed a respectable catalogue of various artists' releases. This sixth outing is the most straight-up techno offering yet and it opens with one of Spain's finest in Eduardo De La Calle. 'Deva5Vyasa' is heady and otherworld loop techno perfection with synth daubs and conscious vocals peppering the rubbery kicks. DJ Shufflemaster brings more texture to the raw, percussive madness of 'Axiom' and Tensal layers up unsettling and anxious synth murmurs with rising drum tension on 'Thermal Cycler.' Pergo's 'Lume' is a brash, industrial closer full of urgency.

Review: Lost in Music: Post Industrial Dreamscape is a powerful film made by British artist Jermaine Francis. This is its soundtrack and it is a collaboration between Tony Bontana and Francis himself. The soundscape mirrors the film's moody and smoky dissonance as it delves into Post-Industrial Britain's social and political landscape through Francis's life. After being inspired by seeing the film, Full Circle saw potential in the track and remixed it into a loose yet mechanical sound with trippy synths and churning bass, while Ukrainian artist Shjva added her own interpretation that is a much more heady and dee bit of techno with cosmic synth overtones and an otherworldly feel.

Loloman - "The Wall" (Laurent Garnier rework) (7:42)
The Lost Souldancer - "No More Voices" (7:34)
Review: This compilation brings together a diverse array of electronic music talent, showcasing a range of styles and moods. Laurent Garnier's 'Back Where I Belong (Solaris Mix)' kicks things off with a hypnotic and atmospheric journey, its pulsating rhythms and ethereal melodies setting the stage for a sonic adventure. Tal Fussman's 'Waiting' takes a more introspective approach, its delicate textures and subtle grooves creating a sense of anticipation and intrigue. Loloman's 'The Wall (Laurent Garnier Rework)' injects a dose of energy, with Garnier's reinterpretation adding a driving intensity to the original track. The Lost Souldancer's 'No More Voices' closes the compilation with a deep and hypnotic exploration, its atmospheric textures and pulsating rhythms creating a mesmerising soundscape. This is a release that will appeal to a wide range of electronic music enthusiasts, offering something for those who appreciate both the introspective and the energetic sides of the genre.

Review: Transmigration marks its fifth release with a focus on overlooked psychedelic dance music from around the world, all of which blends acid, techno and rave. Ghoti's 'Rubble' gets things underway with rolling bass and menacing synth energy. Third Eye then ups the ante with molten acid lines and sleek deep techno drums on 'Ancient Future' which is an apt title. Review: Berlin's Exit Strategy began their 12"s game releasing EPs in browned sleeves, shortly before branching out into digital-vinyl combo releases with original artwork in the 2020s. Now with over ten years of experience under their belts, they welcome five new artists for a playful bricolage in deep and minimal techno, privileging elite, razor-sharp additive sound design and future-soulful vocal tasters. Ivory's opener 'Rain' epitomises this, while Jimi Jules squelchifies the same formula, and Aera's 'Future Holdings' rolls out the same logic to its ultimate conclusion, veering towards complex, 3D-graphic melodic techno composed entirely of climbing saws.

Review: Short Attention Records makes a welcome return here with a new drop of wax that fits the label head into its roots in deep techno sound worlds. This one takes the form of a various artists' EP crafted with an intake feel for cosy floors and who better to kick off in that vibe than the revered Lawrence whose 'Hawser' is a groovy and melodious track. Next, New Jersey don Joey Anderson sets a slow and deep tone with 'Human Kind' which has moody vocals and Japanese artist Takuya Matsumoto follows with 'Three Flowers', a more potent and driving cut with a fine acid bassline. Rounding off the EP is 'Desired Spring' by R/K, a loop-driven deep house gem designed for both listening and dancing.

Review: Griffe launches its own new split series here with Mama and Torrent kicking things off. Mama goes first with a pair of potent techno cuts. 'Electric Pjack' opens up with some acidic lines spraying about a tightly assembled groove with sliding hi-hats and well-syncopated beats. 'Cyber Pjack' then gets a little darker with a more menacing low end and snappy drums keeping the beats upright. Torrent's two cuts keep the future feels alive with the mechanical grooves and malfunctioning sounds of 'Stay In The Loop' and 'Ex Machina' shuts down with some frazzled synths adding texture to the metallic drum sounds.

Separation - "Innocence" (6:22)
Tripmastaz - "Oyster Dub" (7:18)
Review: Serious seriality from the OHM Series, an imprint and sole patent owner of the rare, aurally administered chemical known as Omega X. The alphabetic Greek letter ohm determines impedance / resistance in an electrical circuit, and so too do each of the dub techno tracks released on the OHM Series amount to tergiversating transductions, their chillout chord-knocks and hardened beats never quite letting us settle. Though titles like 'Innocence' and 'Downtime' persist here, the tracks perhaps inadvertently prove that flow is impossible without resistance: Separation's track is especially unorthodox in its strange reordering of phaser, pan and saturation effects on the pad-stab, which produces an unusual swirling effect.

Stef Mendesidis comes with the trance tinged overtones of 'Hydra' and its slamming drums and bass blend. Regent's 'Decoder' is a more minimal sound but unfurls high speed with a deep vibe and Hertz Collision/Programma 101's 'Concrete Skin' is all about masterful loops and eerie synths. His return to Kontakt brings fresh house depths with opener 'Velo-City' kicking off in urgent fashion with quickened drums and spoiling synths locking you in. 'Traveller' is a dubbed out cut with a fleshy, liquid low end filled with reverb and echoing hits that disappear off to the horizon. It's rooted in traditional tropes from the 90s and US scenes starting with the kicking, retro flavours of 'Mi Amor' before 'The Bass Theory' brings on, yep, some more heavy bass-driven grooves. Review: Ohm Series #10 continues to be a shining example of the remarkable work being done in the dub techno genre, consistently featuring top-tier producers who excel in their craft. On Side-1, Monomood kicks things off with 'Spring In Space,' a track that boasts deep sub-bass hits and long, blending chords. Rather one-track-sounded, yet funereal, in feel compared to most releases in the style, Kohra and Nich's A-siders each bring the potency of a nuclear reactor core's radioactive serum to each of their respective tracks; Pits' and Tywi's tunes, meanwhile, are much more energetic and ludic, with steam train choos and what sound like electronic didgeridoos abounding.

A sense of weirdness exudes from these tunes, refusing the common pitfalls of twee chord progressions or underproduction hidden behind rawness; these ones are as high-qual, watery, poured-over as can be, yet also bring with them a real sense of exploration and eccentricity of mood. Having already invited a slew of artists for individual releases, the Cluster series here aims more at collectivity. All the tracks here nail the label's signature smushing of heavily heat-glued sound, moving between everything from electro to breaks, landing somewhere in the synaesthetic register of an earthen sonic purply-brown. The highlight here, though, has to be Anna Kost's 'Conjunction', which breaks this general rule through a fast dubstep-ish 150BPM exploration in nervous respiratory pad design and glance-off percs, making for a bracing potential set intro.

Review: Brian Dougans and Garry Cobain, the masterminds behind Future Sound of London, return with The Pulse EP Vol 3, a reissue of their classic work under various aliases on the Jumpin' & Pumpin' label. This highly anticipated 12" features tracks that showcase their 90s techno brilliance. Side-1 opens with Smart Systems' 'Tingler' (Four By Four mix), a dark, sinister track that channels Beltram's 'hover' sound into a hardcore rave anthem. Indo Tribe's 'Owl' (I Can See You mix) follows, hailed by fans as one of the greatest breakbeat hardcore tracks ever made, a retro-classic loaded with chunky, energetic beats and an unforgettable sample. Side-2 kicks off with Indo Tribe's 'Bite The Bullet Baby' (Jacques Reynoix mix), another gem that blends early 90s rave energy with a unique edge. The real highlight, however, is Yage's 'Calcium' (Elementary mix), which first appeared on Future Sound of London's Accelerator album. Even today, it sounds transcendental and timeless, its melodic piano lines and otherworldly ambiance continuing to win over listeners. This EP is a vital piece of underground rave history and an essential listen for fans of early techno and breakbeat hardcore.

Unafraid of the wet and subnautical, 'Abisso' dives headfirst into the lower yonders of the abyss, with the title track inspiring visions of a pulsating humanoid submersible confidently plunging into the fishy midsts of an underwater nowhere; while 'Venula' hears our main character chancing on an underwater acid rave, and 'Insidie' finding a rare pocket-vacuum of air. Review: While she's been making moves as a club DJ in recent times, Paula Tape has not released a record since 2021. This EP, whose title doffs a cap to her Chilean roots, is therefore well overdue. It's rather good too, as proven by opener 'Acid Latino (Sonido Real)', where distinctively South American melodies, TB-303 tweaks and echo-laden spoken word snippets rise above a bold acid house bassline, tough beats and layered percussion. 'Feel 2 Real' sees our hero reach for sparkling house pianos, deep bass, sharper acid lines and spacey synths, while 'De2 Locura' is warmer, heavier and more melodically complex. To round off a fine EP, she joins forces with Caravan for the sax-laden South American house excellence of 'Ibis', a track as percussively intense as it is sonically seductive and sub-heavy.

Review: Eindhoven underground acidcore distributor and label Flatlife generate yet another mind-melter for the nitty masses, supercolliding tracks by four of the foremost DJs come sound-summoners on the subterranean scene. Flatlife have dispatched rapid-response rave Apaches since 2009, and A-siders 'Septic' and 'Lord Of Darkness' bring a fittingly mid-noughts feel to things, during which time the roughage of hard dance fused with the encroaching gloss and finesse that came with digital sound tech that defined the decade. The mood is horrific, with 'Saure' climaxing to apocalyptic, territorial levels through waspish yamps and kick crushings, while the aggro is not lost on the ensuing 'Out Of Order', somehow the most relaxed of the four.

Aquamarine (5:40)
Emeraude (5:08)
Tanzanite (6:17)
Jade (6:00)
Review: French producer Alizee Chelal aka Tauceti's latest offering distills her signature fusion of dense, percussive momentum and textural finesse into four meticulously sculpted tracks. Across this four track release, she refines the balance between propulsion and atmosphere, drawing from the shadowy edges of techno while leaving space for shimmering, almost cinematic detail. 'Aquamarine' opens with rolling low-end and flickering metallic accents, setting the stage for the layered tension of 'Emeraude', where rhythms shift beneath fog-like synths. 'Tanzanite' tightens the focus, its kinetic pulse threaded with ghostly harmonics, while 'Jade' expands outward, its submerged melodies stretching into the depths. As both a DJ and producer, Tauceti has honed a distinct sonic languageione where intricate rhythms meet a deep, almost tactile sense of space. Her work moves fluidly between intensity and restraint, dissolving the lines between the physical and the ethereal.

T1000 (10:56)
TWA (Techno With Attitude) (7:01)
Underground 5 (6:52)
Review: Tazz's latest offering is a testament to his versatility, showcasing three tracks that effortlessly weave between techno and house. 'T1000' is a masterclass in deep, dubby techno, its 11-minute duration letting the groove build and evolve without ever overstaying its welcome. The track's rhythm pulses gently, locking dancers into its steady flow. 'TWA' (Techno With Attitude) shifts the energy, delivering a harder-hitting anthem designed for high-volume play. The track's aggressive kick drums and punchy basslines bring a palpable intensity to the room. 'Underground 5', a collaboration with Bacanito, brings a smoother, soulful house vibe, its crisp percussion and warm basslines providing a perfect counterpoint to the previous tracks' energy.

Odios Y Traiciones (6:28)
Review: TCR's TCR 003 delivers a nostalgic trip with its vintage techno sounds. 'Out Of Mind' kicks off with an infectious late 80s/early 90s vibe, blending a fun house essence and an Italo house bassline, topped with a playful vocoder that adds a Yello-esque charm. 'Me Hablo La Tv' dives deeper, with classic techno samples and late-night grooves, capturing the essence of the genre's roots. On the flip side, 'Odios Y Traiciones' stands out with its pure 90s techno energy. TCR 003 successfully fuses various influences, creating a vibrant and dynamic listening experience that feels both retro and refreshingly fun.

Review: The word Teakup conjures up a most polite British image of sipping on a warm brew from one's finest china. There is nothing quite so charming about this third EP from the label of that name, however: it is deep and dubby techno to start with as 'Pillar of Light' layers up elastic bass and tightly stacked rums into a high-pressure wedge of body music. 'Interpreter' is a little more busy and frantic with more kinetic drums and squelchy synths while 'Plasma' also locks you in and closer 'Various Round Shapes' is another perfect reduced dub techno concoction with glitchy hits and deft pads all some flair. A tasty EP indeed.

Review: To the Fuse Imprint comes Temudo, an extant favourite artist of the Klockworks and Blueprint labels. Described as a leading light of the latest wave of Portuguese techno, Temudo is known as a co-founder of the Hayes Collective; his group-minded sensibility comes to a head here on the new EP 'Meteora', which could easily function to express the inner workings of an alien hive mind. Temudo's designer beats are one of a kind, tracking naturalistic, physically-modelled tones (acid lines on 'Meteora' and 'When I Grow Up' burble like the tuned peckings of an automatic bird's bill). Moments of expansion and constriction propound, as on 'Vrthng', a swung techno number of intimately cheeky space and size, juxtaposing well the massive, reverby openings-out that characterise is predecessor.

Review: ANIMA Records is the debut label from, you guessed it, ANIMA, aka Italian techno pair Andrea Maggino and Marco Santoro. It launches with a powerful first release that seeks to push the boundaries of modern techno. And it does a fine job, too, with Temudo opening up with a deep cut that has woody percussion and fat bass, then Red Rooms up the ante with some silky low-end fluidity and heady pad work. Glaskin's 'Eject' is minimal in design but maximal in impact and Arthur Robert taps into classic Jeff Mills sounds on 'Schwarzschild Radius.'

Sonic Particle Rain (6:57)
Ethos (6:12)
Perpetual Survivor (6:55)
Nemesis (6:13)
Review: Dark, hard techno producer Tensal brings a heathen, cultic mood to the arc of techno orthodoxy with his latest record 'Perpetual Survivor'. With its ominous heraldic symbol on the 12" inner label, and a four-track sonic palette portraying the seedy underbellies of religiosity, this is a record that recalls the Brum-school solemnity of Downwards Records or the post-Catholic heresies of Vatican Shadow. Opener 'Sonic Particle Rain' claps back with a status-quo-shattering barrage of sonic madness by way of 16th-note stutters and squelching lows, while 'Ethos' breaks from the horde with a personal, textural reflection on what it means to follow one's own ethical code. Meanwhile, 'Perpetual Survivor' and 'Nemesis' strip things down to barer bones, amounting to something of a puritan Reformation in sound; the gilded ornamented of their clerical predecessors are contrasted starkly here by the B-side's electric, merciless and sparse sound.

Review: Tensal returns to the industrial / hard techno alias for another slam-fest, this time offered up to Italy's Void+1 Recordings imprint. The 'Photon Radiation' EP is a techno record with a heart and soul poured in; though it keeps to the hard techno form, it does do whilst also showing off an added ear for texture, with 'Photon Radiation' packing in all manner of metallic judders and farty scrapes between the beats; 'Squaring The Circle' blowing us away with its structural vocal repetitions and broken rhythms; and 'Beg To Be Destroyed' unnerving the listener with a comparatively furtive yet increasingly sinister buildup. Making us squirm with delight.

Why Did I Love My Wife (11:01)
Nordhorn (6:51)
Review: Way back in 2002, in the midst of his rise to global recognition, Ricardo Villalobos delivered a one-off EP for Linear as Termiten - though at the time his involvement was not widely known. It has become something of a sought-after minimal techno classic, with copies of the original 12-inch changing hands for serious sums - hence this Rawax reissue. It remains a fine record. A-side 'Why Did I Love My Wife' is Villalobos at his most propulsive - the kick-drum is pretty sturdy - while still reliably trippy, out-there and intoxicated. 'Nordhorn', a deeper affair in which melancholic melodies seemingly hang in the air over a typically wonky and loose-limbed drum track, is also superb, while 'Frank & Hennes' is a lolloping dab of downtempo psychedelia featuring samples from a heady old folk-rock jam.

Motion Of Objects (8:05)
Review: Dan Piu and Grant's Theory of Movement project has served up gold for lovers of heady tech and minimal. After something of a hiatus, it is now back on When The Morning Comes with more of the sort of tuneage that is going to quickly sell out and soon become the ID request du jour at your favourite underground parties. These are of course sophisticated sounds from the silky house bumps of 'Now & Then' with its seductive vocal allure to the throwback 90s sounds of 'Over Time' (Acid Mix). 'Basis' (Foundation mix) is another immediately classic house sound with analogue and dusty drums and zippy melodies next to more smooth chords. 'Motion Of Objects' shuts down with a more zoned-out vibe and widescreen melodic architecture for late nights.

Review: Mark Thibideau is an enduring presence in the underground who now lands on the We're Going Deep label which is just as well regarded and long established. The Ontario talent now offers up four more club ready but cultured cuts on this one which features the uplifting 'Overcome Gravity'. It's a breezy journey with tight percussion and shimmering synthesis, while 'The Fading Future' offers more introspective tones with minor chords many it so. 'Circulate' amps up the energy with understated, bass-rumbling intensity and 'Rotation' finds Thibideau propelling the dance floor to the outer reaches with open frequencies and flowing grooves. Each track showcases masterful craftsmanship here as you would expect from this man.

Review: As well as a nice yellow pressing of this new EP from veteran producer Matt Thibideau, Kontakt is serving it up on good old-fashioned black wax. He has over 30 years of experience and his latest dub techno outing, Subduction & Shadows, is up there with the best of them. The first side features 'Subduction,' a vibrant track with uptempo dub techno beats perfect for the dancefloor while 'Glow' on the flip enchants with Detroit-inspired '90s chords and refined production enhanced by epic strings for a hypnotic touch. The EP closes with 'Shadow,' a deep, driving dub techno piece that wraps up with a smooth melody that means this artist continues to impress with his innovative sound.

Side-1 begins with 'E-blue,' a techno track infused with elements of Italo house and an 80s sound. Its futuristic vibe and movie soundtrack feel set an imaginative tone. On Side-2, 'Phantom' introduces alien sounds with a haunting and dark atmosphere, enveloping listeners in its eerie ambiance. The EP concludes with 'Stomper,' an electro track that is both futuristic and otherworldly, delivering dramatic flair. First surfacing in Tiga's recent Boiler Room set, Feel The Rush sparked a full-on ID frenzy prior to release; the original track harnesses a signature Tres vocal over a low-slung LMZ groove, while the three ensuing retakes from Honey Dijon, Mr. G and Johnny Aux of Paranoid London provide extra selective, serious fleshings-out, making especially stark use of Tres' laid-back, hip-house vocals.

Review: Azu Tiwaline and Forest Drive West team up for the first time on 'Fluids In Motion', a sonic communicative movement transmitted over the long terrestrial range between the UK and Tunisia. Having exchanged ideas over the long course of three years, this is a match made in heaven that nonetheless presents only the best in its arsenal. Balancing ambiance and soundsystem weight, opener 'The Pitch' lands the interview with its naturalistically cavernous lows, rattling chains and photo-heavenly sounds left agape, while 'Fluids In Motion I' sets the pace with a proper acousmatic techno shellout, albeit with its bursting highs still left in the mix; and by the time of its third movement, 'III' - which is made up of sticky auto-panned snaps and juddering texture-bass undergirds - the ending is well and truly stuck.
