Review: London's FUSE is one of those labels that is so dint it has a sound of its own that is often initiated but never bettered. The latest to serve up an authentic twist on the tech house template is returning artist EB Flow whose opener 'Celestial' makes a quick impact. It's a cruising, effortlessly cool groove with cosmic synth sounds and an aloof little vocal hook. 'Boundless' has more tension in its breakdowns and muted pads but the sub-bass is to die for. This sophisticated new school EP shuts down with 'Illusion' which has a gurgling lead wobbling about the mix while the long, leggy, loopy kicks bring great swing to the party.

Review: Last year Woody McBride's Minnesota label Sounds. reissued the Lovers EP, a 12" he originally released back in 1996 under his Modal alias. Now the remixes gets reissued to follow up, leading in with some Mariana trench depth charge gear from Roy Davis and DJ Skull. The Terry Mullan mix is a springy, 909 techno workout, while the Boom Box mix takes a lighter, drum machine jazz approach. There are so many old-school heroes involved here - Hyperactive, DJ Slip, Mystic Bill - but then what else would you expect from someone as invested in the scene and community as Woody McBride?

Review: The second release on X Files. This waxy, splattered green and black 12' features 'two extremely dangerous peak time recordings that have been causing destruction on dancefloors the world over.' On the A-side, there's some proper heads down tackle in the form of bass-driven minimal cut 'Txxic' which samples a particular pop princess' hit track - guess which one? Over on the flip, the Rominimal vibes continue, well into the afterhours of course, on druggy microhouse cut 'Itta'. Tip!

Review: After launching last year with the All Killer No Filler Vol. 1 12", Mephis returns to maintain its mission of shining a light on up and coming Uruguayan artists operating in the trance-techno sphere. The A-side of this second release features Elias Sternin throwing down some driving acid trance styles with a sinister edge which should creep out your club experience nicely. On the B-side Artesano Titer has some further freakiness to divulge with the lingering organ notes and diced up breaks scattered across snappy drum machine jack. The end result is catchy as anything and should go down well with those bumping releases from labels like Partisan and Kalahari Oyster Cult.

Review: Donnie Cosmo kicks off the all new Circa Groove label with four pumping tech house cuts that worm their way to the heart of the dance floor as well as deep into your affections. There is a heavy spaced out vibe to these tunes starting with 'Stargazer' (Highway Mix) which indeed feels like a cruise through the stars with bulbous bass and fat drums. 'Wired Nag' is just as much of an intergalactic journey with neon synths leaving wispy tails in their wave over rubbery and pumping drums. 'The Deep Cosmo' is more heads down and pensive then 'Curved Space' layers up some celestial melodies.

Review: Teddy Wong takes charge with his second outing on Hot Creations with 'Mueve Los Dos Pies'. Hailing from Los Angeles and shaped by the vibrant sounds of Mexicali, Wong has turned heads over recent years; after a successful label debut last year in collaboration with Andre Salmon and Jorge Andrade, November now welcomes this second outing on Hot Creations; 'Mueve Los Dos Pies' seamlessly blends energetic, rave-ready beats with a low-slung arrangement, followed by 'The Man Who Travelled In Time' which heads into late night territories with sonic stabs and alluring echoes for a hypnotic trip. Review: Nine years after they dropped one of their most well-known and pivotal EPs, Frankey & Sandrino reissue it on the mighty Innervisions. Their Acamar EP arrived in 2015 and really took the pair behind it up a level with its meticulously crafted house sounds, serene melodies and general sense of electronic elegance. It perfectly defined the Innervisions sound back then and still very much aligns with it now. 'Acamar' is a free-roaming cut for blissed-out 5am listening and tranced-out dancefloors. 'Lukida' has a slightly more whimsical feel and elastic bassline. This version comes on nice orange vinyl.

Review: Romania has been hotbed of techno producers in the last handful of years. One of the important figures that is leading the charge is Sublee. Mesmerizing Fields is the newest original work for the producer and it finds a home at the Italian label Hashplant. The upbeat 'Spinning' starts the program off with a club stomper that is full of tension and tech. Then the title track completes the A-side with a broken electro workout that ultra-futuristic and funky. On the second side, we really like the ability 'Itsmyb' has to keep the peak time going along with some really cool electronic sounds. 'Your Coldness' just might be our favorite of the bunch. We love the anticipation, beauty and spacey style. Goosebump material. When you take into account the entire EP, you realise you have a lot of great varied techno here!

'Co$mic Felacio (Freaking92)' stars with low-slung menace, 'Gift Of Gab' is a bright house stomper with smudged and smeared chords and 'Willie Wonkaaa' has a darker, more unsettling edge and squealing synth lead. 'Akirashi' is a nice chilled-out beatdown to close.

Review: We are real fans of the PIV label out of the Netherlands for the way they have bright plenty of new thinking to house and tech. Their Limited label off-shoot is even more forward-thinking and this time welcomes ADR for some of their signature sounds. 'Daft Excluder' gets underway with flappy snares and a nice nebulous ecosystem of neon synth details and snappy drums. The Casey Spillman remix gets more punch with wet clicks and a garage tinge to the drums. 'Professor Magnet' sinks you into a bulbous bass line that is warped and fluid under snappy claps and 'Infinity808' brings nice and trippy electro vibes and a kinetic rhythm to close. It might be the best of the lot.

Review: Amazing, goblin-mode minimal techno from Klon Dump aka. Mark Klon, a human klondike of fidgety sonics and jokey tech house from Australia. It's as if divine powers intended for Klon to join My King Is Light, the label owned and operated by fellow producer Melchior Productions. MKIL focus is on extra-special minimal tech, shunning the genre's often unfortunate capitulation to floor-perfunctoriness for the sake of idiosyncratic indulgences of the artistic kind, the kind we minimal fans actually want to hear. Praise individuality, for it is not lost! 'The Long 2016' harks back to the year in which humanity stood at the precipice of everything-everywhere-all-at-once-ness; endless shuffles, pops, bass slaps and overhand riffles burble from this track like a volatile electro-ball, evoking the informatic ease of the time. 'Go Wahreit' contrasts with harsh alien vocodes and kitchenware percs, and titularly plays on the German word for "kernel of truth". The B-siders render the record weirder and weirder, 'Blind Tim' summoning UK flavours with a skweeeing swing, and 'It's Only My Body' serving to desensitise the trance.

Here he returns to wax for the first time in four years via a rock-solid EP on Rawax. We're not hip to who these cats are, but their music says it all as they skip through snappy rhythms and bold synth forms with the kind of flair you might find on a Spacetravel record. He has emerged from the Dutch underground to take the global circuit by storm as a DJ but also a studio slickster who fuses tech, minimal, house and breaks. Review: Original Chi-Town bad man DJ Sneak shows up with his latest selection of loop-driven house jams, serving up five floor-focused cuts on the 'Disko Dialogue' EP. A key figure in the second wave of Chicago house, his prolific career has seen him explore acid house, disco cut-ups, and hypnotic, tracky realms. Much, if not all, of that is on display here. The title track features looped strings and echoing vocals over a pounding kick and skippy snares, while 'Kick Da Flow' follows a similar trajectory, albeit with a slightly more restrained mood. 'Bottom Acid' ups the energy with pulsing 303 gliding over piercing drums, while 'Acid Wunders' dives into trippier territory, with its nocturnal groove endlessly undulating. The rolling rhythms of 'Elements' cap a fine EP, with DJ Sneak proving he's lost none of his big-room bravado or production swagger.

Review: The Piranha label rolls out its third offering here and it is some high class and heady dub techno excellence from Dub Fu Masters. It is their version of Son of Abe's 'Mr Frosty' that opens up with some psychedelic synths worming their way through rolling beats as acid lines bring texture. Q3's 'NJB' (vs dub Fu Masters) has a filthyTwo Lone Swordsman style bassline underlining snappy drum hits while a sultry sax line also comes in to make for a tight, original sound. Dub Fu Masters then shut down with 'Herb Was Created' which is a menacing and low-slung dub cut with plenty of reverb and another dirty and brilliant bassline.

Review: After more than four years without releasing any singles, Cosmjn returns with a killer solo EP for Radial. Sprinkling in notes of bassline and speed garage, 'Make Me Feel XTC' and 'Luvs & Dubs' hears a transition from filthy to brainy, the latter track especially likening the impulse responses of an impending, digital 303 to the kisses of a lover. B-siders 'Groover Killa Moves' and 'Aerosoul' mirror the A-side's movements whilst expanding their respective settings to cavernous proportions, the latter track especially wowing with its super-breathable, pipey sound design, making for a stirringly deep two-note hook.

Review: We've been loving the playful Looney Tunes for a while - they put out decent edits and left of centre underground grooves that always have a real sense of character. Next up is Supersanity with one much such track that is pressed up to a one-sided and hand-stamped vinyl. 'Bender' is named after the Futurama character who is stamped onto the label and is a warped and late-night afterparty take on deep techno with percolating synth motifs and a spoken word vocal that sounds emo and indie. It's sure to make for some brilliantly WTF moments in the club.

Review: Now here's a classic. Originally released at the turn of the millennium, Music For Freaks reissue the Methods In Madness EP by the label honchos themselves - Freaks aka Justin Harris and Luke Solomon. Featuring the boompty Chi-town shuffle of "Look Behind You" dub by local heroes Tim Shumaker and Tim Kvasnosky aka Home & Garden - who've been fairly quiet in recent years. The On It version is a bumpy form of cyclical hypnotism that you could only expect from the respected pairing. The Off It version strips things down even more, left with a simple breakbeat and bass pulsations.
