All We Need (feat Fred Ventura) (6:21)
System Breakdown On Wikileaks (feat Fred Ventura) (6:54)
In The Night (6:03)
The News (feat Fred Ventura) (7:09)
Review: Lovin', freedom, passion... just three key ingredients make up the bare necessities of wellbeing, which must be secured before we venture into the endless subjectivities of human happiness. Crack this emotional code, and you're in for a good time, so say the Bordello A Parigi resident players Also Playable Mono (Rafal Lachmirowicz) and Fred Ventura. Teaming up for the first time for a blistering take on nu-glossy Italo disco - informed by the former's nascently needly version of the sound, and the latter's contrastingly classic post-punk come club education of the same - this insanely glittered plumper features Ventura feature on vocals through alternating takes on the present global condition, the A-sider marking a stark contrast to the A2 side's suddenly socially charged statement, 'System Breakdown On Wikileaks'. The B-side ventures veer vocoded, flipping the script onto two further, emphatic pleas for change.

Review: Get yourself geared up for festival season with some fierce party starters certified with the Glitterbox stamp. Melvo Baptiste leads the charge with 'Sweat', a sizzling disco house stomper with Dames Brown giving the biggest diva energy on her show-stopping vocal. Lovebirds bring unbridled joy on the Philly string swoon and slinky b-line funk of 'Burn It Down', while Art Of Tones & Inaya Day keep it peak time on the sassy strutter 'Give My Love'. Young Pulse & Fleur De Mur complete the set with 'Smooth Sweet Talker', another bright and bold vocal cut par excellence.

Neurotiker - "BDSM" (Vocoder version) (5:51)
Signal St - "Tiger" (9:03)
Silicodisco - "Mirror Constellation" (6:30)
Review: Long-serving French label Skylax has inaugurated 'Serie Noire', a new sub-label dedicated to delivering a mix of 'dark disco', indie-dance and Italo-disco flavours. There's plenty to set the pulse racing on the series' debut release, a multi-artist affair that's packed to the rafters with high-grade material. David Body steps up first with the crystalline melodies and throbbing high-energy grooves of 'Free Gluten', before Facets throw down the muscular and moody 'Waves' and Neurotiker doffs a cap to EBM and Kraftwerk on 'BDSM (Vocoder Version)'. Over on side B, Signal Street's Bobby Orlando-on-steroids style 'Tiger' is followed by the throbbing joy of Silicodisco's Italo-disco-inspired 'Mirror Constellation'.

Review: BPlan & Fab_o present the sixth release on their own label with 'Caffe Corretto Edits 06', a four-tracker bursting with serious flavor. This time, they share the spotlight with well-known DJs and collectors, Raregems. Side-1 features two house dancefloor killers from BPlan & Fab_o: A1 is an African hypnotic track that awakes the senses, while A2 delivers a fresh, groovy vibe with irresistible disco horns. On the flip side, Raregems bring two slow and sexy tracks from their archive. The duo have a knack for unearthing unique and sultry sounds that are energetic and great for a party.

Joutro Mundo - "Vem Obata" (5:34)
Review: The latest drop of 'coffee shots' from Italian imprint Caffe Cornetto is another impressive affair showcasing re-edits and reworks by a quintet of artists. Label regulars BPlan and Fab-O join forces on opener 'Miscela Segrata', a lightly beefed-up and subtly quantized tweak of a heavyweight disco-funk jam, before rising star Reece Johnson slaps down 'Groove Espresso', a percussion-rich, all-action take on what sounds like a West African Afro-disco smasher from the mid-to-late 1970s. Over on side B, Shamarko offers-up an expert rearrangement of a low-slung, flute-sporting disco workout rich in gritty, funk-fuelled low-end heaviness, while Brazilian favourite Joutro Mundo lowers the tempo on the sun-baked, synth-sporting early evening gorgeousness of languid boogie jam 'Vem Obata'.

Review: ***B-STOCK: Box damaged, product unused & in perfect condition***

- Creasing to corner of sleeve

West End's double-pack re-edit series continues, with long-standing UK electrofunk hero and scalpel rework specialist Greg Wilson sharing a quartet of revisions. There are airings for two of Wilson's most sought-after scalpel works from the "Credit To The Edit" series - superb versions of Brenda Taylor's "You Can't Have Your Cake and Eat It Too" and Raw Silk's "Do It To The Music" - as well as a couple of previously heard rearrangements that are on-point as per usual. Wilson first adds even more mind-altering delays and low-slung dub disco flavour to Forrrce's "Keep On Dubbin'", before superbly stretching out the mostly instrumental "Melt Down Mix" of Shirley Lites' synth-laden peak-time classic "Heat You Up".

Franz Scala - "Webo" (7:14)
Review: Red Laser Records continue their stellar form with another knockout release, blending Manctalo fire from old hands and fresh faces alike. Frank Butters opens the EP with The Call Of The Wild, a dazzling blast of crystalline synths, thunderous bass, and cosmic effects that showcase his forward-thinking production skills. Bob Swans delivers 'Bodyform4U', a dreamy arpeggiated groove that builds an uplifting, futuristic atmosphere, perfect for igniting the dancefloor. Lone Saxon switches things up with 'Hypersleep' a breakbeat-infused piano gem that oozes nostalgic charm, before Franz Scala and Il Bosco finish strong with Webo, a late-night, tension-filled Manctalo banger.

Charms - "Givin' It Up" (3:40)
France Lise - "Pour Moi Ca Va" (3:28)
Review: Favorite Recordings has previously championed revered and little-known Francophile disco and boogie gems, mostly on dedicated compilations curated by dusty-fingered digger Charles Maurice. This '45' marks the launch of a new series along similar lines, with each release boasting two hard-to-find tracks accompanied by their original cover art (one on the front, the other on the back). On side A you'll find 'Give It Up' by Belgian band Charms, a warming and loved-up chunk of boogie/mid-80s soul brilliance stacked with luscious synth sounds, rubbery bass guitar and eyes-closed male lead vocals. Over on the reverse is France-Lise's 'Pour-moi ca ma', a simply superb slab of French language disco blessed with a killer bassline, funky guitar licks and some suitably heady horns. Tres bon!

Review: Sweat It Out Records kicks off their tasty Sweat Sampler series with their first volume, cutting niftily across four exceptionally sweaty bops, spanning tongue-in-cheek deep tech reworks and downtempo disco delights. First off is the dream team of Cid and Havoc & Lawn, whom together deliver a hilariously effective house version of America's 'A Horse With No Name'; this is shortly followed by Saturday Love, Kon and Furious's 'Come Out', a rejigged nu-disco samosa packed with some rare vocal spices; then there's 'Give It To Me' by Marco Lys and Ben Miller, a bass-driven bouncer unafraid of lasershot winddowns, injunctive vocals and risers; and finally, there's Set Mo's 'Could I Be', the anthem of the bunch, whose buildup and drop is alarming, affecting, cumulatively awe-striking.

Delfonic opens up with the low slung and seductive loopy disco-house fun of 'Everything Is Love' while HOLDTight up the funk and energy with more loose and percussive grooves on 'Disco Power.' FSQ - "This Is Carribean Disco" (A Tom Moulton mix) (6:28)
Review: Midnight Riot help the listener carve out their own personal Balearic headspaces with their new compilation Balearic Headspace, likening the "experience" of Balearic not just to a sound, but an affect, one that cannot be experienced without specific records or specific times and places. Do we believe it to be true? We may or may not, but that doesn't distract from the whopping curation job here, with most tunes on offer consisting of both total newness and reworks/revisions by the Midnight Riot crew; this 12" is a four-track selection of a wider 19-track digital comp. Our highlight has to be the ultra-smeary Tom Moulton mix of 'This Is Caribbean Disco' by Fsq, which floats atop a serious floe of stretched-out axe bubble and echoing crosstick, as its lyrics deal in word-painted themes of being held underwater. As mindfully, cognitively Balearic as it gets!

Review: Fab Mayday is a legendary Italian crate digger who has been at it once again. After time spent searching for treasure in the vaults, he has come up with these four gems for a third volume of his on going series on Violette Szabo. There is starry-eyed energy on opener 'Ritmo', 'Mare' has a more raw and guttural funk feel, 'Lovetti' is a big band sound with some rich horns and exuberant songs over a nice instrumental groove and 'Fra Martino' then shuts down with a slow motion and sensors sound that is led by more magnificent strings.

He has been searching in his vaults once more and now offers up another three gems that come on a limited edition, one-time-only pressing via Violette Szabo. 'Prega' opens with some big guitar licks and thumping disco drums that come alive with some classic chords. 'Eva' is a serene sound powered by big, airy strings and strident drum grooves. Review: Kommuna marks its tenth year of activity with this new dancefloor-focused record from various artists whose music "reflects the glimmer of hope that music provides during these dystopian times." Fabricio's 'Collateral Effect' opens with a strident nu-disco sound and retro-future chords that get you moving. Charleze's 'Rage Power' is another chunky disco stomper with some nice cosmic melody and Wooka's 'Tirty Dalk' hits harder with mechanical beats and churning bass. Mooglee's 'Things I Love' brings a more dreamy synth sound but still club-ready beats.

Review: Blkmarket Underground Music Party Edits is a sub-label to the influential Blkmarket, an esteemed label and event series in New York. Contrary to what that catalogue number might indicate, this is actaully their second release and has Facets at the controls. First up is 'Computers' with its raw and snappy analogue drum sounds and late-night synth details. 'Time Of War' is another full-fat blend of analogue drum thump and driving synth motifs, 'Talk To Me' has crashing cold-wave synths and deadpan vocals and 'Paranoia' has loopy vocals and moody atmospheres for freaky dancing. 'Lies' and 'Dub To Destruct' shut down this varied and retro-tinged EP with jerking rhythms that will do plenty of damage.

I Think I Like It (4:28)
Mars (3:55)
Review: For those too young to remember the days of glitch-house and electro-house at the turn of the noughties (think Herve, Switch, Claude Vonstroke etc), Fake Blood was one of the true masters of the style. He released a swathe of big records for Cheap Thrills and others, with the two tracks collected here - both of which date from 2009 - being the biggest. A-side 'I Think I Like It' is a superb example of the style, with the producer expertly cutting up a pleasingly silly and over-the-top disco-pop number and turning it into sweat-soaked, hands-aloft gold. 'Mars', meanwhile, gains its dancefloor power from a frankly filthy, mind-altering bassline-turned-lead-line, around which crispy drums, breakbeats and Mylo-esque synth stabs make their presence felt.

Review: Eddie C invites Fake Glasses and The Noodleman to straddle his crimson two-wheeler for two deep dub disco delights: The former gets his treacle-like squelch on as he flexes around a short vocal hook and sweet skank, using chubby acid as a means of melodic bass dynamic. The latter goes deeper again with warm kick, a sheet metal snare and a low-end flow that's so thick it's almost toxic. Limited and hand-stamped, this is nothing short of stunning.

Review: Earlier in the year, Italian reissue specialists offered up a tidy reissue of Ahmed Fakrun's "Nisyan", a sought-after chunk of Arabic blue-eyed soul that originally appeared as a seven-inch single in 1977. Here they offer up a new edition of its predecessor, which the Lebanese musician recording during the same recording sessions in Milan. With its flanged guitars, lolloping reggae-funk swing, spacey synths and warm bass, "Auidny" is particularly inspired, though the West Coast AOR-influenced warmth of flipside "Njoo El Leyl" is arguably equally as addictive. Review: Sound Metaphors keeps it as deep as ever with a reissue of this classic from Franco Falsini. It's a quality EP that opens with the mysterious and exotic synth colour of 'People In Orbit' with its dusty retro breaks and psychedelic feel. 'Un-Flanged Transition' is another edgy sound that has no real analogue - it's an intense astral adventure with ever-changing synth leas and a real sense of unease. 'Midnight Tremors' takes things down a notch and is a carefree cosmic house jaunt with mellow synth magic and 'Ray-Tracing Sauna' is another sun-baked closer with wonderful arps drifting up into the heavens.

Review: A modern lunar take on jazz and disco, Jazz On The Moon hears Italian producer Paolo Fedreghini moonwalk backwards through live horns, bass, synth and guitar for a crisply produced six-track EP. Opening with original NASA-issue intercom vocals from the 1968 moon landing, 'Interstellar' crafts a moonscape of Harmon-muted trumpet and avant-garde growls, while expansive electro-funk opens out on the title track and 'Distant Planet', by which point a tonal shift is underway. The vibe is increasingly P-funky, erring desolate on the interluding 'Outer Space', before we wind up purblinded by the light side of the mood on closers 'Groove Odyssey' and 'Cosmic Funk'.

Here, he breathes new life into the Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra with a powerful remix of 'Black Sun' that arrives exclusively for Record Store Day 2025. Review: The only possible criticism one can aim at this series of Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra remix EPs is that Far Out are yet to release the original material in any form, so it's difficult to fully appreciate the handiwork on display. Of course, with the series already having produced remixes from the likes of Mark E, LTJ Experience, 4 Hero and John Morales amongst the five releases to date, there's still plenty to applaud. The label might just have outdone themselves with the latest twelve inch too - step forward Sound Signature don Theo Parrish who delivers a sumptuous widescreen rendition of "Keep Believing (Can You Feel It)", every bit as impressive (if not as chaotic) as his recent Shangaan Electro effort. The same track is remixed with equal aplomb by perennial Benji B favourites Kompleks. Big tip!

Funky Baby Love

Paul Fathy - "Funky Baby Love" (3:21)
Corail' - "Karukera C'est Comme Ca" (4:13)
Review: Favourite step up with a 7" of two distinct halves, digging some niche funk cuts up from hidden corners. Leading up on the A side is Paul Fathy with 'Funky Baby Love', which was originally the flip to his 1982 single Je N'Speak Que L'Amour. The track is a pristine slice of disco funk in the Shalamar tradition which can't fail to get a floor filled up good and proper. That track is backed up with 'Karukera C'est Comme ca', a sunkissed slice of zouk goodness from Guadeloupe in 1988 by Corail' - the kind of thing you could imagine Palms Trax rinsing out during a feel-good day time session somewhere on the Adriatic coast.

Douz Douz (MTMU Extension) (5:35)
Review: Berlin crate-digging Music Take Me Up (MTMU) have - like their city compatriots Sound Metaphors - got a great track record when it comes to unearthing and reissuing genuine gems. The label's latest missive falls into this category. 'Douz Douz', a kind of Arabic post-disco dancefloor workout, was first featured on the B-side of vocalist Fatima Makdadi's sole 1984 single, 'Qui A Aime Amera'. Featuring a blend of Western and Middle Eastern instrumentation, synths aplenty, infectious grooves and ear-catching lead vocals, it's is an undeniably slept-on gem. This reissue - the song's first appearance on 12" - also boasts an extended, club-ready re-edit by the MTMU crew that teases the track out to five and a half spellbinding minutes.

Tokyo Matt - "Pi Po Pa Editsu" (6:38)
Review: Disco Hamam's Hamam House launched in 2014 and they've left us hanging at a lonely taverna table ever since... Knowing the party would warm up once again. Three years later, it truly has an a largely Turkish collective lay down a supreme collection of eastern funk trips. Fattish's "Gel Seher" adds a little swaggering house beat beneath the soaring vocals and strings, Kozmonotosman gets mischievous with a loose-string twang jam while Kurt Adam enshroud us with a strangely percussed subverted lounge ballad. Tokyo Matt takes a final roll of the dice with a tropical finale laced with fretless bass finesse.

Time For Changes (Vanzetti & Sacco instrumental) (5:56)
Review: There is never anything less than exquisite that comes from the Dutch label Bordello A Parigi. And this new one from Faxe is only short but it really packs a punch. Time For Change sis the dazzling Italo disco opera with shooting arps, tinny retro future synths and 80s drum machines sound powering it along. Steamy vocals add further allure. The Vanzetti & Sacco instrumental in the flip is perfect body music for floors that want to get in a sweat. As always this is a must cop from one of the day's best disco labels.

Diamond In The Night (Longdrink remix) (6:40)
Review: Sadly departed Italo-disco producer Gianfranco Felli enjoyed a successful career rebirth before passing away in 2015, though it's his early '80s work - and specifically 1983 debut single "Diamond In The Night" - that remains most celebrated. Here his most famous creation gets the reissue treatment, with the original Vocal and Instrumental versions - throbbing, bubbly chunks of purist Italo-disco pleasure complete with sequenced synthesizer basslines and cheeky pop flourishes - being supplemented by two new revisions. Flemming Dalum steps up first with an extended take that adds extra dancefloor weight to Felli's original version, while the Longdrink remix delivers cheerier, synth-pop-fired nu-disco thrills.

Review: Jet-set instrumental funk from Lance Ferguson, sifted from his rare early release 'Rare Groove Spectrum Vol. 1'. The pieces are technically covers; the A, of Earth, Wind & Fire's 'Brazilian Rhyme', and the B of 'Sweet Power Your Embrace' by James Mason. This Japanese 7" edition contains no end of wally funk, baggy brass trills and bossa nova clave, musically emanating straight from the heart of Melbourne, Australia.

I Got, She's Got (3:54)
Review: The mighty DFA label has always come at dance music from a rock and indie perspective and for that reason has always brought plenty of new ideas to the dancefloor. Fernando Pulichino has long been at the heart of the operation with his fusion of rock, funk, and electronic beats and here he is again with more of the same. 'I Got, She's Got' is a raw, energetic track, while the remix offers clarity and rich arpeggios. 'She's Playing With Fire' with saxophone by Gustavo Buchiniz, meanwhile, adds another explosive element meaning that all three tracks deliver pure club-ready firepower.

Search Of Indigo (LTJ Xperience dub) (5:51)
Review: When it first landed on Leng in 2018, Fernando Pulichino's 'Search of Indigo' delivered a typically attractive blend of dub disco, nu-disco, Balearica and stylish lead vocals from Luca Gaspirini. Six years on, the track returns in remixed form. The Argentinian producer and multi-instrumentalist kicks things off with his own 'AM Mix', a deliciously low-slung and psychedelic chugger propelled forwards by raw, restless TB-303 acid lines, low-slung bass guitar and the dreamiest of pads. Luca Trevisi AKA LTJ Experience handles the rest of the EP, delivering a trio of hazy, slow motion and pleasingly dubbed-out revisions. His A-side remix, in which echoing vocal snippets and jangly guitars catch the ear, is followed by the superbly squelchy, acid-flecked 'Dirty Mix' and the more immersive and hazy dancefloor 'Dub'.

Review: Ferrari's Terrooooir takes a more restrained approach to electronic music, with each track unfolding at its own pace. 'Terrooooir' kicks things off with steady percussion that forms a solid foundation, while the atmospheric synths gradually build tension without overwhelming the listener. 'Echoes of Silence' leans into ambient territory, the bassline providing a subtle drive beneath the delicate pads, creating a sense of calm. In contrast, 'Midnight Mirage' adds more bite with syncopated rhythms that bring a bit of urgency, though it never disrupts the EP's overall flow. Closing with 'Fading Light,' the track combines melancholy with an undercurrent of energy, leaving a lasting impression with its refined balance. Ferrari's ability to create space and movement within each track shows a strong command of electronic music's subtleties.
