It has long since carried that over into its label which deals in contemporary minimal from a wide range of producers. The rather incredible 200th release is now here and is a various artists affair that starts with Aiwaska's 'Tip' which is dark and driving. Elsewhere an Omeria remix of Kaiser Waldon is more deep and Fake Mood & Dibidabo's 'Coconan' gets a textured and chugging Nicone Acid Disco Nana remix. Last but not least is a Pablo Bolivar Remake with dubbed-out deepness.

Meanwhile, Omeria's remix of Kaiser Waldon takes a deeper approach, creating a rich and immersive soundscape. Fake Mood & Dibidabo's 'Coconan' receives a textured and chugging transformation with Nicone's Acid Disco Nana remix. Review: Dungeon Funk lands heavily here with a debut release that sets a good standard from the off. This marks the first time that assured and hardcore deep house heads Dungeon Meat and SlapFunk Records have come together and it is the result of Meat man Brawther hosting a comp on his Patreon channel for aspiring producers to try and impress. From the many entries he received, the four best are served up here starting with Ibiza-based A.M. Project whose 'Flippin' Kicks' has heavyweight kicks and plunging bass. UK-based ADMNTi & Jack Ling offer the quick tech funk of 'Meat Slap', Russia's Fanick brings a trippy breakbeat vibe with 'Watch Me' and Canada's Modal Logic offers 'Space and Science Center', a nice loopy and low-slung banger to close.

Review: The only known diplomatic dance musical dialogue between Leeds and Barcelona can be found in the cross-national collective MASS, whose principal aim is to connect the two cities as identified hubs of the next-gen dance musical underground. Here the personae grata in question are a crack team of trusted delegates, known by the respective codenames AS Groove, Driahn, Monile and Nikon; each artist-negotiator delivers their own firebrand sonic missive in quick, electrific unison, appeasing the collective ear through a four-point transmissive treaty. Either breaks-laden or bleep-laden sound is stipulated depending on which fine-print line you read and/or which finely-etched groove you play; only track four, 'Seismic', trigger the break(beats) clause.

Trancey flourishes shimmer across a sturdy techno framework, giving it a futuristic yet warmly vintage feel i an addictive opener that immediately pulls you in. MostWanted's 'Juanas Addiction' follows with a raw, electro-clash inspired workout. Rough edges and a cleverly placed samples create a gritty, 80s-flavoured rush that feels spontaneous and alive. Side-B opens with Philipp Boss' 'Lockdown Light', a tight tech house roller that threads a wiry acid line through breezy house rhythms, maintaining a lightness despite its driving momentum. Closing things out, Car Crushers' 'Fine' (featuring Tabi) bursts with cheeky energy i a bouncy 90s club spirit laced with hints of Euro house fun. Tabi's vocals add just the right dash of playful charisma to seal the deal. This compilation is a strong statement of intent, proof that the label isn't afraid to stir genres together in creative, dancefloor-ready ways. Every track brings its own flavor, yet the cohesion across the release feels effortless and full of personality. An EP that is full of fun.

Boronas & Snad's 'Affliction' is rich with haunting synths, rolling MPC percussion, and mind-bending delays. Istanbul's Bartaub pays homage to the '90s with 'Orbit The Dance Planet' which blends bumpy breaks, robotic voices, and ghastly chords. On the flip, Mountain People delivers 'I Am The Void,' featuring shuffled drums and dubby stabs. Finally, Beirut's Nesta closes with 'Tarte Citron' a late '90s tech house track with crisp percussion and catchy vocals.

Review: In the summer of 2023, Upgrade Records launched via a nostalgic, party-starting EP from the previously unheard artist In 5 D (likely an alias for someone a bit better known, but don't quote us on that). For the label's return, long-serving DJ/producer Buckley Boland (best known for his releases on Made To Play, Black Riot and One Records) is the man at the controls. What he's delivered is a nostalgic, sample-rich affair that combines the angular wonkiness and mind-mangling noises of early-to-mid-2000s tech-house with nods towards vintage acid house, electro-house and the hard-to-pigeonhole house filth of the (long gone) Music For Freaks label. Basically, it's all fun-time, party-starting fare, with the bump-and-squelch of 'Daft Sandwich', the bustling brilliance of 'Nude Night' and the break-sporting hustle of 'S/A/M Real Man' standing out.

Review: Inspired by "cosmic vibes and alien sounds", Cut Line Records is a freshly minted imprint founded by New York-based producers Majak and Diego Knows. Wisely, they've decided to set their stall out via a multi-artist EP that offers more than a few hints about what we can expect to hear in the months and years ahead. Naturally, they contribute, rounding off the EP via the collaborative 'Electrik Funk', a smooth, spacey and sub-heavy slab of tech-house funk marked out by cut-up vocal snippets, intergalactic-sounding motifs and rubbery beats. There's plenty to set the pulse racing across the rest of the EP though, from the acid-flecked tech-house funkiness of Pedro Goya's 'Celeste', to the star-fall haziness of Digital Pimps electro roller 'Warning Bells', via the electro-goes-breakbeat shuffle of 'Alien Vision' by Frankula and St Xose.

Review: NEM 100.1 Vol 1 isn't your standard deep house compilation. With heavyweight contributors like Danny Howard, Nicole Moudaber, and Armand Van Helden, this release feels like a meeting of minds with a shared purpose: to push familiar boundaries into unexpected places. Danny Howard and Eli & Fur's If You Were sets the tone with a blend of understated house rhythms and finely layered vocals. There's nothing overblown here - it's precise, refined, and confident in its restraint. PAX and Rui Da Silva's Touch Me follows, reviving the iconic anthem with modern production sensibilities. The track is driven by its deep, chugging bassline and stabs of melody that feel like a nod to the original, but also refreshing in their approach. Nicole Moudaber brings a more atmospheric element to the fold with Rise Up, featuring the London Community Gospel Choir. It's expansive, combining gospel depth with Moudaber's signature techno edge, resulting in a track that demands attention without feeling heavy-handed. Closing things out is Armand Van Helden and Mark Knight's Down to Earthia production that melds classic house tropes with a contemporary spin. Its punchy, syncopated rhythm and laid-back groove avoid the typical tropes, instead offering something warm, slightly off-kilter, and entirely captivating. This is a collection that doesn't fall into the trap of overused house formulasiit's bold without overstating, intricate without being pretentious. A strong reminder that these artists still have a few tricks up their sleeves.

Review: Four new prangers from France's BOOOoo! crew, startling our ears with audio-apparitions by ghosts of the resident French sceno-system: Jamahr, Mooglee, Jucid and Odeon. 'Black Loops' and 'Flex (Booty Mix)' invade elastic terrains of bass and flicky synth, churn them back through meshes of gradated beats and rond-squelching stab notes. 'The Question Is' eliminates much of the A-side's establishing layers and overdubs, harking rubbery and slip-tastic FX design, countered by the equally sticky 'Jimbeldance'.

Review: We're fully signed up fans of the work that Hedzup has been doing. It's a house label that works at the electronic end of the spectrum and likes to bring in weird and wonderful sound deigns next to their high speed beats. This new VA is a great window into their world for first timers, or another essential 12" for those already in the know. JNJS's 'Two Girls' is perfectly colourful and vibrant stuff with retro touches and future feels, Vern's 'Sunlake' is a nice cosmic cruise and Enzo Leep and Matpri on the flip both keep the silky and seductive sounds coming thick and fast.

Review: This briskly titled new EP from Jesse Maas has already received much proof-copy DJ play from a posse of esteemed artists, and only now does it come your way as the minimal tech come piano house selection you didn't know you were waiting for. Maas is a new signee of the 2020-inaugural Key Records imprint, who then set about the humble goal of promoting and releasing music by their favourite producers, pure and simple. After 25 digital releases out so far, and of all the piano weapons on their market stall, this one the titanium-sharpened piano halberd, its titular 'ODD' penetrating even the jitteriest dancefloors with its huge eighth-note triads. The EP then inflates the stakes much, rounding out on the fatally sadistic engine-whisperer 'Green Stone', which abounds in maundered vocals which seem to offer but one ultimatum: dance, drive or perish.

Review: Here's a heavyweight suite of club cuts from the Toolroom Trax stable, featuring a whole squad of names linking up for some big room belters that should go down very nicely indeed with any medium-to-megasized party experience. Mark Knight's extended mix of 'Ready' is a proper epic, not least when the 'Insomnia'-esque stabs kick in. CASSIMM's 'Wanna Feel Something' is a heads-down sexy workout, while Superchumbo and Victoria Wilson James get remixed by Crusy for an equally brooding, high-end production. James Hurr and Arthur Baker round things off with chunky monkey 'Powder In The Nose', which teases a whole lot and then delivers even more on the drop.

Review: Having made his Opia bow in 2018 on the label's second release - where he shared vinyl space with Steve Marie - it has taken Luis Malon a fair old while to return to the London-based imprint's loving embrace. The good news, though, is that he's delivered a genuinely memorable, melodically bold and pleasingly imaginative collection of cuts. Compare and contrast, for example, the spacey, percussive and far-sighted tech-house bounce of opener 'Des Antenna', and the cut that follows, the bleep-and-bass-meets-intergalactic-deep-house loveliness of 'Nines'. Over on the flip, he does a bit of sci-fi soundtrack daydreaming on the cheery melodies-meets-dark bass excellence of 'Travelling Across', before wrapping fizzing, mind-mangling electronics and twisted acid lines around a crunchy breakbeat on 'Fly Or Die'. Impressive!
