Yossi Amoyal Presents Fluere IV
Cat: SUSH 54. Rel: 14 Dec 20

A1 People - "Do It" (Metamatics remix)
Kosmogonik - "Circuitry"
Silicon Scally - "Relay"
Matt Chester - "November Pathways"
CiM - "Recursive"
Review: Since Zip and Villalobos made it one of their coveted deep digs to be heard pealing out of a thousand after hours sessions, the Metamatics remix of A1 People has been a teasingly out of reach dream grab for many a minimal electro head. Now Yossi Amoyal has done the good deed of getting the track remastered and repressed as part of his Fluere series toasting 15 years of Sushitech. As well as that masterclass of elegant machine funk, there's also Kosmogonik's mind-bendingly brilliant 'Circuitry', Silicon Scally's body-popping electro-noir 'Relay' and Matt Chester's melancholic 'November Pathways' to keep your up-all-night marathon sets peppered with spangled surprises.

Artur Nikolaev - "New Edition" (7:04)
Cladu - "No Name" (8:00)
Review: ViGis opening salvo for 2025 brings together four artists from four continents who all blend their own diverse cultural roots and influences into a superb collection of cuts for the club. This is a 12" that offers a refreshing take on familiar sounds and delivers subtle yet punchy variations in style and rhythm. Adema keeps it nice and clean and slick on the deep, bubbly tech of 'Jm Glavio' while Red Pig Flower's 'Stardust' is a zoned-out roller. Artur Nikolaev's 'New Edition' is a deft minimal soundscape with warped lines and bubbles dub undercurrents. Cladu shuts down with 'No Name' which is a more propulsive cut.

Casey Spillman - "Juice Appeal" (ADMNTi remix) (6:59)
Review: Adam Monti aka ADMNTi heads up 4Plae Records out of London and joins Casey Spillman (who just debuted on Infuse) for his label's fifth release. Monti opens with the hypnotic, bass-driven and swing-fuelled loops of "0207", a sublime groove reminiscent of iO (Mulen) or Jack Wickham, while Spillman's contribution comes in the form of the very UK influenced bounce of "Juice Appeal". This takes the best of 2-step and garage (and even the mandatory "rewind") to create a sexy serving of late night mood music. On the flip they flip the script, with both artists remixing each other's track and for what it's worth we reckon it's all about Spillman's remix of Monti's - tough rolling and functional tech house that's aimed squarely at the main room at peak time!

4D - "1 Step Bck 2 Steps Fwd" (5:59)
Josh Baker - "Somebody's Watching Me" (5:58)
Croft - "Levi" (6:30)
Review: Subsequent is doing a fine job of offering up cutting-edge sounds from the UK underground. This 13th EP is a various artists offering with just that on both sides. Aerofunk's 'Idea' kicks off with warped bass and drilling synths that hark back to golden-era tech house. 4D gets more cosmic on his silvery '1 Step Bck 2 Steps Fws' and new school stalwart Josh Baker gets all twitchy and paranoid on the jittery 'Somebody's Watching Me.' Last of all is the gritty and grimy tech bumper that is Croft's 'Levi'. This is fresh club music ready to do damage.

Dan Andrei - "Si Un Ecou" (8:07)
Root - "Apophis" (7:36)
Clock Poets - "Galaxy" (13:45)
Review: Clock Poets returns with Surrealism, a three-track various artists exploration of minimal techno and micro-house. Dan Andrei's 'Si Un Ecou' is a stripped-back, bass-heavy roller that is simmering with tension before erupting into modulated synths. Root's 'Apophis' delivers swing-heavy micro-house with shuffling drums and growling synth textures which nod to the genre's golden era. Clock Poets' 'Galaxy' on the flip is a sprawling 14-minute live-recorded jam rich in intricate sound design to end with a classy touch. Surrealism masterfully balances moods and textures here and makes for another refined entry in the Clock Poets catalogue for lovers of thoughtful, hypnotic dance sounds.

Review: Brian Aneurysm and Christian Quast unite for the first time to deliver a monster machine called "Human Assembly", a track with the darkness of Brian Aneurysm, and the German-tech of Christian Quast. Without a doubt, the rest of the EP reflects this chemistry. And what happens when you throw Maetrik into the mix? You get a peak-time basher called "Maetrik Assembly", which is an unflinching and mind twisting floor buster.

Luca Piermattei - "Aerial Silk" (6:27)
Thilo Dietrich - "72th Chord" (6:46)
Review: Polarity keeps on the early pressure and quality it has shown over its first few releases with another searing EP that is aimed square at the floor. A quarter of different artists contribute to the '4 Intense Stories EP' and Giuseppe Angeloro opens up in bristling fashion with 'Sequenza Libera' a coarse acid workout. Cedric Dekowski's 'Roayal' has a more trippy take on techno with its unusual sci-fi energy and Luca Piermattei's 'Aerial Silk' has you in freefall as the synth sequences ride up and down the scale over mechanical beats. Thilo Dietrich shits down with a nice techno stomper with plenty of warped lines.

Jay Tripwire & Miller - "BC75109" (6:23)
T NA - "Nicky" (6:33)
Crihan - "Hocus Pocus" (7:47)
Review: An enviously sick, fidget-dub-minimal-tech blastoff from Into The Woods, the London imprint whose efforts to push the genre, in a city where it may indeed need more force behind it, are admirable. The first V/A of a new series, ITW have hand-picked an impressing array of artists here; choose your fighter: Crihan, Jay Tripwire & Miller, Vlad Arapasu, and the fast-rising T.Na all feature. First up, it's Vlad, with 'Hidden In The Chaos', whose title invites us to decipher the message coiled about the technical scytale: the track's so-said "chaos" betrays its mad method, its impish persona portrayed through random-modded bass pitch bobs set against a fizzing backbeat. Tripwire and Miller add much texture to the proceedings, sweeping our ears unto a journey into what sounds like frayed cabling and clairaudient voices; then T.Na seriously impresses with truly, properly balanced beat and bass elements, with evil demonic gurgling and laughter aplenty, on 'Nicky'; and finally, Crihan rounds things off on a note of gruff, grit-laid wizardry with 'Hocus Pocus'.

Background Influence (7:47)
Logic (7:08)
Review: Romanian label Destiny comes on strong with a second superb release here. It is a collaborative effort from Charlie and Arapu that brings some silky tech funk to your life. 'SunK Fpeach' kicks off with a great vocal field with attitude and soul delivered over the smooth beat and crisp hits with subtle effects building the drama. 'Background Influence' then sinks down into a more deep headspace with wispy pads and chunky drums powering onwards. Last of all, 'Logic' explores a nice broken-beat vibe as it journeys through outer space with balmy pad work.

Arapu - "The Moment When I Move" (12:47)
Crihan - "Versus" (10:20)
Review: After launching with a rock solid EP by Cally in July 2018, the More Than Music label returns to action with a double-header of dancefloor-focused fun. Arapu handles side A, serving up a wonderfully chunky, hypnotic and locked-in tech-house box jam built around sturdy kick-drums, funk-fuelled electronic glitches, restless bass and all manner of chopped and layered vocal samples. Over on side B, Cirhan continues on a similar theme, serving up a delightfully skewed fusion of booming sub-bass, swinging, off-kilter drums, creepy piano flourishes and moody, end-of-days aural textures. It's just as hypnotic as Arapu's A-side, just a little looser and woozier in feel.

Arapu - "A2a Cu R"
Dubsons - "Vezuviu"
Faster - "De Ce"
Costy & Gerardo - "Dulapa"
Review: Hailing from the new and mysterious Vara label, this four track double pack makes a bold statement about the intentions of the label, offering a decidedly ambitious product for a second release populated by relatively unknown producers. Lucky then that all the tracks on the release are worthy of their own side of wax as they plumb the depths of minimal tech house with fearless abandon. Arapu keeps the beat twitchy as he lets globulous sub bass design provide the warmth in the track, while Dubsons get into a lighter frame of mind with a breezy beat and atmospheric swirls of chord. Faster brings things back to a darker context with that fearful clang of church bells and plenty of decay and reverb around to fill in any untoward gaps, leaving it to Costy & Gerardo to finish the deal with a stoutly stripped down, cyclical burner for the deepest of dancefloor contemplators to get lost in.

A Mental Image
Review: Charles Noel has been enjoying a resurgence of late, with his early explorations as Archetype resurfacing on a number of reissue labels. Future Primitive have tapped Noel up for two cuts that typify his left-of-centre approach, leading in with the sharp-edged beat excursion "Form Of Change" that will appeal to all lovers of reduced, off-kilter rhythm workouts. "A Mental Image" adopts a softer stance, laying out a bed of silken pads and errant tweaks that tap into the head-tripping mood of vintage techno while maintaining the future-minded thrust that makes true machine music timeless, whichever era it was crafted in.

Review: Moscow label BodyParts Records has become a byword for quality minimal fare since its emergence a few years back and this latest offering is their most comprehensive yet. V3 pairs up six producers across two slabs of vinyl and will probably become one of those double packs that doesn't leave your box. The future tribalism of Nu Zau's "Noise" stands out here, as does the bristling abstract grooves of Anrilov & Bvoice collaboration "Budet". The chiming beauty and simple beats of "Rose Bleue" by Clovis might just be our favourite contribution here however.

MostWanted - "Juanas Addiction" (4:44)
Philipp Boss - "Lockdown Light" (6:57)
Car Crushers - "Fine" (feat Tabi) (6:10)
Review: The third release from this emerging Frankfurt label is a compact showcase of their boundary-pushing ethos, fusing a variety of styles into each track without ever feeling disjointed. Side-A kstarts off with Aurelien's 'Les Yeux', a hypnotic slice of 90s techno nostalgia. Trancey flourishes shimmer across a sturdy techno framework, giving it a futuristic yet warmly vintage feel i an addictive opener that immediately pulls you in. MostWanted's 'Juanas Addiction' follows with a raw, electro-clash inspired workout. Rough edges and a cleverly placed samples create a gritty, 80s-flavoured rush that feels spontaneous and alive. Side-B opens with Philipp Boss' 'Lockdown Light', a tight tech house roller that threads a wiry acid line through breezy house rhythms, maintaining a lightness despite its driving momentum. Closing things out, Car Crushers' 'Fine' (featuring Tabi) bursts with cheeky energy i a bouncy 90s club spirit laced with hints of Euro house fun. Tabi's vocals add just the right dash of playful charisma to seal the deal. This compilation is a strong statement of intent, proof that the label isn't afraid to stir genres together in creative, dancefloor-ready ways. Every track brings its own flavor, yet the cohesion across the release feels effortless and full of personality. An EP that is full of fun.

Vito Kalimari - "Jupyfirsttry" (7:51)
Review: Up next on Slovenian legend Valentino Kanzyani's label is a fairly tight various artists EP showcasing some sleek minimal and tech house sounds. Beginning with the mysterious Bad Boys and their deep and dirty afterhours jam "Muse" while Cruise On The Valkan (again, whoever they are!) serve up the chugging early morning hypnotica of "Cruising No 3" and the tough rolling funk of "Cruising No 1" respectively - which will no doubt appeal to fans of similarly reduced sounds coming out of Romania at present. On the flip, the charmingly titled Vito Kalimari serves up a taste for the acid life of "Jupyfirsttry" which has the signature womp and wobble of the infamous silver Roland box all throughout it - this one was sick! Running since 2005, Jesus Loved You has presented some big names over the years, long before they got big too. Dan Andrei, SIT and Vinyl Speed Adjust are just a few we can mention.

Review: Four very different interpretations of house music prevail on Power. First up is Geffen, whose dubby, staccato drums, bursts of percussive noise and ominous bass provide the backdrop for a series of frequency-shifting tonal blips. Danny F opts for a different path on "Chalole Batata", where a pulsing bassline and heavy drums steer the arrangement into an ethnic chanting break down. Christian S's contribution is tracky and designed specifically for DJs; centring on rolling, insistent drums and mangled filters, its crashing cymbals enhance its impetus. Finally, the trio of Philipp Gorbachev, Hugo Capablanca and La Muerte deliver the deranged vocals and noisy voodoo groove of "Berlan Esta Helado" - which sounds like vintage Chicken Lips on acid.

The club mix of "Blackout: White Noise" showcases the more tense, physical side of the Booka sound, all driving rhythm and rigid, techy synth lines that belie Jones' involvement. Brown's Speak features some heavy kicks and delicate hollow keyboard stabs that pepper the track wonderfully and keep things nicely buzzy in a Detroit style. The original Hood mix is first and is one coated in sustained chords, dusty atmospheres and soulful vocal mutterings with plenty of analogue percussion and loopy, swinging drums. The Luciano remix is a more uneasy and stringy minimal version, as you would expect, and then comes a much more raw and edgy number from Lil Mark in the form of his Swing Tech mix. It Just Happened is his latest and finds its way to the legendary and iconic Nu Groove records. It must be daunting to release music on such an amazing label. 'It Just Happened' has all the makings of a classic worthy enough for the Nu Groove logo. Veteran Cle who has worked on many projects with Steve is featured here as well. For those that really know Steve Bug's background, they know he is equally involved in house music as he is with techno. Tracks like 'Crew Thing' show his ability to make a standout house track while 'House Music Transcends' closes things out with your hands in the air. We respect Steve Bug so much for his work over the years. When he is old skool mode like he is on this EP, you just have to say respect to the man. Respect!

Review: Steve Bug may be influenced by the sounds of classic house, but on this EP the Poker Flat owner shows that he and Cle have their own vision. Therefore, while the title tack revolves around a predatory bass, a succession of techy stabs pushes it into a breakdown, while the icy chords have an unquestionable spine-tingling effect. Similarly on "Monkey Shoulder", the duo borrow the driving, crashing snare drums from Chicago and the evocative pads sound like pre-disco Morgan Geist. Ironically, although it forgoes using Chicago's jacking past, "Shadows" is most in keeping with the city's past. In particular, the prowling bass and almost dainty, delicate melodies are reminiscent of classic Larry Heard.

His first release in 1995 included the club favourite 'Funky Dope Trakk,' which quickly gained support from local and international DJs. Ricardo Villalobos, among others, played the tune relentlessly for decades. In 2012/13, C-Rock's own label Lo-Fi Stereo remixed and reissued the track, but those versions have since become rare and sought-after. Now, 'All That Jelly' is reissuing the four original versions, freshly remastered from the original DATs, ensuring they'll remain dancefloor staples for the next 30 years.

Review: Groovin Italy landed a monumental reissue for the label with C'hantal's 'The Realm'. Originally released way back in 1990 on the dance and early Brooklyn based Powertraxx records. Staying true to the original release, it offers the 'Love In D Minor' mix but does one better in tucking in the Acapella version to the A-side so the B-side 2 versions have a little more room to breathe. The added bonus has to be putting on the more rare "Wild Club mix' to the party along with the original 'Rave Mix'. All and all, a very packed reissue of some of the best versions of the track, all on one record. This might just hold the number one spot for best techno reissue so far of 2024.

Sure (7:38)
Angie's Fucked (5:51)
Review: Back in 2001, Joshua 'Iz' Michaels decided to dust off his rarely used C++ alias for a two-track missive on Music For Freaks, the now sought-after I/O EP. Here, it gets a worthy re-press. Both tracks are typical of the period in which they were recorded and released, but have also lasted the test of time rather well. A-side "Sure" is a brilliantly trippy, "left coast" style affair, with Michaels wrapping watery electronics and eccentric samples around a bumping, sub-bass driven groove. Flipside "Angie's F*cked" is similarly hazy and dubbed-out, albeit with bolder electronics, snappier beats and a more hypnotic, 'locked in' feel.

Review: Ever reliable Berlin duo Cab Drivers are back on Cabinet with more boompty minimal house business you've come to expect from the legendary duo. Powered by analogue soul throughout, Daniel Paul and ZKY go deep into the night with the emotive, bass-driven title track before getting freakier and darker on the flip with "Quotes". Well suited for the after-hours, this 12" is packed full of vintage drum machine flair and intoxicating electronics.

Review: If you're reading this we've got to hand it to you; you really know your stuff! The Cab Drivers are Berlin's undisputed masters of quality techno and house that all the heads can count as some of their secret weapons in their records bag. The man himself Richie Hawtin even compiled a body of their work on his Plus 8 imprint in 2006, Cabinet Classics, which is testament to their illustrious discography. This release is another worthy addition to their catalogue. "Taxi Funk" is all that its infectious swirling synth stabs and syncopated rhythms. "Bon Bon" is more uplifting with its shimmering keys and mesmerising melody pushing you into a truly higher state!

Review: Undisputed heroes of the Berlin underground Cab Drivers get their Comfort Inn EP from 1997 on Cabinet re-released, so get in there and grab your piece of history! iI's always a pleasure to hear their now signature sound, it's timeless. Starting out with "Elwico" a deep and bumping groover sitting somewhere in the grey area between deep house, minimal and techno. Yep: that's their sound alright! "Arcade" is fiercer: an 808 rhythm track and DJ tool that would suit a variety of purposes. Hell, it sounds good enough just on its own. Finally on the flip is "Sunday Best", a funky and emotive exploration in deepness that would sound great as the sun's coming out on Sunday morning at Hoppetosse.

A Less Complex Situation (11:10)
Review: Daniel Paul and Jens Augustowsky have been steering Cabinet Records for twenty years now, establishing the label as one of Berlin's most reliable outlets for techy, housey fare and contributing their own weight in productions under various aliases. Cab Drivers is one of their longest-running collaborations with Playroom their 11th 12" release under the name in those two decades, and their studio understanding is quite evident in the productions. Both the ten minute title cut and "A Less Complex Situation" are understated but wholly effective DJ tools with the subtle acid modulations of the former just edging it.

Review: Berlin's finest and Cabinet Records head honchos Jens Augustowsky and Daniel Paul return for more perfect loops with their signature all hardware setup. The most infectious and hypnotic minimal house served up to perfection on their newest offering. It starts off with the plonky swing fuelled groove of "Alternative Acts": a signature sound of theirs which you can hear in the work of other artists they no doubt influenced such as Mike Shannon. On the flip, there's the deep and emotive "Drive One" supported by thunderous toms and bittersweet pad textures complete with perfectly filtered chords. Finally "Holiday Ahead" is the most positive and uplifting offering here and perfect to play just as the sunlight starts to peer through the blinds on Sunday morning: there's hell of a lot of soul on this boompty acid jam.

Review: Berlin's Cab Drivers are the real deal. If their extensive collection of classic Roland machines wasn't enough, they even sequence them all on an old Atari ST you don't get more purist than that. Paul and Augustowsky's new track "Correspondence" has all the hallmarks of their signature sound: bumpin', melodic, rolling and emotive. You know; the Cab Drivers sound! On the flip, fellow Berlin minimal techno legend Audio Werner steps up to deliver a more darker and emotive remix that strays on the dubbier side of things and we loved it: Tip!

Cab Drivers - "Mind Trip" (9:32)
Altitude - "Framework" (9:06)
Review: This is an eagerly awaited reissue of a 2013 release on Daniel Bell's 7th City imprint. Underrated heroes of the Berlin underground Cab Drivers (they of the brilliant Cabinet Records) appear on the A side with "Mind Trip" a slow burning acid house workout that's definitely of need in any serious afterhours DJ's set. 808s, 303s and horn stabs: what more do you need! On the flip is "Framework" by Altitude, a dub techno classic originally released in 2000 by Canadian Matt Thibideau, who would go on to release on Cynosure and Restructured. This one's a seriously smoky and glacial grove in the vein of Basic Channel. These are bound to be snapped up pretty quick so don't miss you chance this time around!

Mich - "Serotonina" (6:09)
Review: Interdance is a new label tapping into the fruitful trancey tech house sound and its opening gambit features three artists doing great work within the sub-sub genre. Montevideo Electric main man Cabanelas is up first with the widescreen delights of 'Interdance', clearly an anthem of sorts for the label's direction. Then he links up with Soto for the more playful, acid-tickled workout 'Afilando La Faca' which could just as easily work at a warehouse rave as a conventional club. Mich takes over the B side with two contrasting cuts - the shimmering, transcendental '1937' and the synth-pop influenced 'Serotonina'. Along with the A-side tracks, they confirm Interdance as a new label to watch in this buoyant scene.

Review: We all know that it is imperative to stay away from the minibar in most cases, but not here: the French label of that name is a classy outlet for those who like stylish minimal sounds. And who better to serve them up than the rightly revered Cabanne. This two-tracker kicks off with 'Karan' which is a delightfully smooth and heady late-night minimal joint with sci-fi designs and deft synth modulations. 'Straight' then has more defined drums powering forward the spaced-out motifs and slippery basslines. Two high-class sounds for connoisseurs only.

Cabanne - "Zoso"
Binh - "HUfer"
Priku - "Mare Mirare"
Review: As label statements go, the Textures series from Concrete has been superbly successful in transferring the ethos of their increasingly legendary Sunday boat parties to a label format; the diverse approach to DJ bookings matched by a wonderfully far reaching spread of artists across the three Textures 12"s. Previous instalments have seen contributions from Abdulla Rashim, Jared Wilson, Bleak, Sampling As An Art and Awanto 3 and this final record of the showcase series demonstrates Concrete's willingness to embrace the techier fare. Telegraph's Jean-Guillaume Cabanne hogs the A Side and represents Concrete's desire to embrace local talent, whilst Club der Visionare resident Binh offers a stripped down but smudgy highlight in the form of "Hufer". Priku ends the series in requisite style with "Mare Mirare" and his presence demonstrates Concrete is aware of Romania's current status within minimal circles. It remains intriguing to see what Concrete have planned next after such an impressive start.

Blow Smoke Up The Ass (dub)
Review: Rekids offshoot, Cabin Fever has continued their fine line of duty in 2012, ever-developing their familiar tech-step sound. This time it comes in the form of the aptly names "Blow Smoke Up The Ass", a relentless house bomb grooving with mild effects and dampened vocals. The dub version is the one here though, filling the arrangement with a gnarly bass line and a heavier dosage of drum beats.

Review: If you've not heard this yet, you've either not being paying attention properly or you don't go out enough. It's been hyped to the heavens for the best part of a year, became an underground Ibiza anthem last summer and has attracted all manner of interest (apparently serial house fancier P Diddy likes it). Now it drops as part of Radio Slave's Cabin Fever series on a particularly desirable pink splattered white 12". What makes "Likewise" so attractive is the unlikely but brilliant combination of a throbbing low end groove (all skippy beats, pulsating sub and relentless electronic chords) with a classic jazz vocal (what sounds like Nina Simone). It shouldn't work, but it does - and then some.

Review: Endless Flight cull a trio of exclusive cuts from the fourth volume of their I'm Starting To Feel OK mix series and place them across both sides of what is an essential 12 inch. Marcos Cabral drops a rare solo original production in "I'd Rather Smoke Alone" which adds some vintage Detroit sounds to the trademark retro house jacking rhythms, lots of soaring string arrangements, subtle percussion and key flourishes. Cabral is kept in good company with Soul Clap once again adopting their Sect alias on "Thieve Scrilla" with the Boston duo crafting a particularly dirty central bass melody. On the flip Belgian duo Mugwump add further credence to what's been a brilliant year with "Dissidaze2 which mutates back and forth from a menacing noirish acid throb into an unusually perky synth stomp several times over.

Review: Fledging but already fine young label U.Dig out of Croatia is back with more final gold, this time from a master of the form in Alexis Cabrera. He kicks off with the mini-epic that is '1997.5', a real head-melting and elastic acid tune that is perfectly deep and rolling for the freaky afters. 'Straight Up' is more punchy and taught, with low-slung drums and crisp hits powering it forward. Last of all things get brilliantly unhinged on 'Microrama,' a kinetic and densely packed cut with flappy snares blaring synths, withering melodies and a true sci-fi feel.

Priku's Atipic imprint is back with a new one by Berlin-based Argentinian Alexis Cabrera this week. ATIPIC 014 features four tracks firmly entrenched in the minimal sound; the off-kilter, low slung breaks of '014.1' kicks off the EP featuring some sensual vocals by The Magic Olives, before the playful groove of '014.2' comes next that's reminiscent of late-noughties sounds on Minus or Oslo. Review: Fun Records main man Alexis Cabrera follows up releases on top labels like Raum Musik, Salty Nuts and Little Helpers with an inaugural release for new label Studio 76. The Berlin based producer presents a great release here, from the minimal-retro influenced bounce of "Told You" or "So" which take their cues from the new sounds of Frankfurt as popularised by labels like Traffic, Hardworksoftdrink or Pager. On the flip, Croatia's Mariano Mateljan turns "So" into trippy and reductionist tackle, that's perfect for getting weird at the afterhours.

Review: Following years spent serving up sounds on a wide variety of underground labels (Into The Woods, Atipic and Infuse included), Alexis Cabrera renews his productive partnership with Raum Musik - a label he last appeared on four years ago. The EP highlight is unquestionably A-side 'Dreaming of a Silver Future', a sparkling and positive-sounding affair in which spoken word snippets, shimmering stabs, jacking drum fills and tight TB-303 tweaks rise above a chunky bassline and restless drums. Flipside opener 'Your Name On My Arm' is a rugged and decidedly moody affair in which blackened electronics, trippy samples and dystopian sonics, cropped vocal samples and short TB-303 tweaks ride a charred bassline and chunky tech-house beats, while 'Do You Wanna Wonder' is a hypnotic and lightly intergalactic European tech-house roller with notably crunchy drums and a few nods to Twilo-era Danny Tenaglia.
