Cat: ENDZ 042. Rel: 02 Feb 21
Minimal/Tech House
  1. Cleo (8:33)
  2. Deep Grey Under The Moon (8:16)
Review: Eastenderz enters 2021 as one of tech-house's most popular labels, a position it will no doubt be keen to keep going forward. To get the year off to a positive start, they've bagged a tidy two-tracker from returning contributor Priku and fellow Romanian producer Dinu. The pair hits the ground running on A-side 'Cleo', cannily immersing a locked-in beat and warm, undulating bassline in clicking percussion hits, echoing piano notes, hushed chords and subtle melodic flourishes. They flip the script entirely on B-side 'Deep Grey Under The Moon', where fizzing synth-string stabs, held-note chords and curiously metallic percussion sounds leap above a jaunty rhythm and a seemingly squeezable bassline. It's hard to describe, but genuinely alluring and ear catching.

Minimal/Tech House
  1. 001 (8:33)
  2. 002 (8:19)
  3. 003 (6:43)
Review: Romanian producer George Gavanescu (Monochrome / Premiesku) aka Floog starts a new label running parallel to his eponymous imprint. This one is called Floog & Friends and the inaugural release is a collaboration with scene stalwart Priku - he one Atipic and Motif fame. FLF 001 features exactly the kind of lean and hypnotic subtlety that Rominimal fans are seeking: from the glitched-out and dubby reductionism of A1, to the cavernous and glacial '002' which is perfect for for building up to more energetic moments on the dancefloor, or the heady, boompty bounce of '003' that's is perfect tackle for getting weird at the afterhours.

WINDER 06 (12")
Cat: WINDER 06. Rel: 02 Apr 21
Minimal/Tech House
  1. Priku - "World Of Nothing" (7:22)
  2. Livio & Roby - "Rakei" (7:45)
  3. Sublee - "Boss Baby" (7:59)
  4. Suolo - "Forget" (7:51)
Review: Winder is a well named label given that the sounds it deals in take you down meandering paths into the depths of your own mind. The sixth such cerebral sojourn is a various artists affair featuring some of minimal's biggest and most consistent hitters. Roman maestro Priku kicks off with the lumpy bass and scattered hits of 'World of Nothing' and Livio & Roby then got for a more deep and silky and seductive vibe on 'Rakei.' Sublee offers the high pressure house slicker 'Boss Baby' for those who like to glide on astral planes and Suolo rounds out in pensive fashion.
