How to use

Snip off one corner of the sachet

Squeeze the contents about the playing surface of the record and distribute evenly using the index and middle fingers together in a gentle rubbing action

Include the lead in groove and exclude the lead out groove

Set aside to dry, around 3-4 hours depending on ambient temperature and relative humidity. Once the dried film is showing white streaks it will be dry

Peeling the dried film: using standard household adhesive tape, place an 11cm strip from the lead out groove to the edge. Lift the tape overhand and slowly peel the film. Any remnants can be removed by dabbing with a fresh piece of tape.

Notes: Secret Chord Analogue's Record Restore fluid is specially formulated to dissolve dust, dirt, grime, and binder substances commonly found in record grooves. The proprietary formula emulsifies and breaks down binders, including static electricity thereby releasing trapped impurities into a removable skin for a 100% clean. The STC's unique polishing action safely rotates about the stylus tip within the cartridge's normal operational parameters using only the normal tracking force of the tonearm.

Importantly, no fluids are involved. Wet cleaning of a stylus, especially with chemicals, is not recommended as many styluses are glued to their cantilevers.

At 4 gms, the STC is so light it turns easily on either the platter or a record surface. The gentle rotation about the stylus's vertical axis increases the tak's effectiveness in removing fine particles. It would very difficult if not dangerous to the cantilever to try achieving the same rotational action by hand.

We designed a tough cardboard shipping box to fix fill refill bottles during transit with no need for tape, wrap or any other crap. Transit boxes are made with >60% recycled fibres, fsc certified and printed with vegetable ink.
Cardboard is precious. It's in short supply. We make sure to re-use every piece we possibly can & make sure to take back the transit boxes that @fill_co 10 x 500ml bottles are delivered to our wholesalers in. We'll keep re-using them until we can't use them any longer. We send out bulk deliveries in giant re-used boxes from other places (we roller-out the name with efi ink & stencil with 'return for refill').
We'll collect & re-use any fsc pallet boxes we send out over & over, until we can't any longer.

Return liners
We wash and reuse all plastic liners we get back from home refillers. All you do is freepost return the liner back to us when you're done, using the flat-pack return box inside. We'll wash it, refill it & send it out again. No tape & no stamps needed.

Infill
Once any board reaches the end of its life as a box, we'll shred & use for infill packaging & protection for online orders, pallet box deliveries or moving precious things around.
If we make more infill than we need we'll let you know & maybe you'd like to use it too?

We've always only ever used paper tape printed with vegetable ink.

How to return
Each 5l & 10l box replaces the need for 10 x 500ml or 20 x 500ml new single use bottles respectively.
When you're running low, pour out the last 500ml into your refill bottle. That'll keep you going while you wait for a new box.

The importance of cleaning your vinyl records

Many people associate vinyl records with hearing "pops" and "clicks". In part, this is the charm of the medium but it should not get over the top of course. Unless your vinyl has scratches, these pops and clicks are caused by dust and dirt that has been collected in the grooves. Also, contamination by air pollution from the traffic outside, cooking fat, grease and tobacco smoke can cause a tough film to form on the surface of the record. Sometimes even moulds and fungi are present if the records have been stored for a prolonged period of time in a humid environment. If you play a dirty record, the stylus will scrape part of this dirt off the groove and this causes a thick build-up of grime on the stylus. Ultimately, this will result in complete miss tracking or groove skipping with permanent damage to your costly stylus and precious records.

The Tonar Wash & Dry is an all-in-one solution to clean your records in the most easy way. The set includes a high quality goat hair brush, concentrate for one litre of cleaning fluid, a special stainless steel record clamp with rubber rings to protect the label during washing, and a dust-cover. With just one single button, you can control the direction of the rotation of the platter (clockwise or counter clockwise), and activate the vacuum arm. Packaging
Fill refill gets packed for shipping by hand by us, in our warehouse. We date stamp and sign each transit box, so you know exactly who packed it. We don't use any plastic packaging to ship our goods.

Glass bottles
All fill refill bottles are reusable, made in the EU with 40-60% recycled tough lab-standard glass and infinitely recyclable.

Screen printing
Fill refill glass bottles get screen printed once to avoid adding difficult to recycle plastic labels over and over. It's not easy to do, but we reckon it makes things look and feel a whole lot cooler. All fill refill screens designed by the wonderful Eleonora Marton.

Cardboard boxes
We designed a tough cardboard shipping box to fix fill refill bottles during transit with no need for tape, wrap or any other crap. Transit boxes are made with >60% recycled fibres, fsc certified and printed with vegetable ink.

How to use:
Gently brush record. Follow grooves.
Add beat drops to playing surface. Use approx 4 drops to clean each side. Avoid label.
Take a clean, lint free cloth. Firmly wipe surface from run out groove to outer edge in a circular motion. Carefully dry record with fresh clean cloth.
Drop needle. Sit back. Listen.
Return record to sleeve.
