Review: Oooh! Angie Stone's "Wish I Didn't Miss You" definitely belongs in the canon of all time modern soul classics. Taken from her 2001 second album Mahogany Soul, the Swizz Beats produced track made optimum usage of an O' Jays sample and was instrumental in that LP going gold and propelling the former D'Angelo collaborator to stardom. It also inspired countless official and under the counter remixes with Blaze's perhaps the most recognisable. So yes this reissue on 7" from Outta Sight is worthy if you don't have the original in your collection and features a housed up remix from Hex Hector on the flip.

Review: Angie Stone's 'Wish I Didn't Miss You' is a gold standard R&B and neo-soul gem from the genres' heyday. It's actually an interpolated composition that draws on The O'Jays's 1972 tune 'Back Stabbers' and was, quite famously, the last ever record played by Carl Cox at the last ever party at Ibiza super club Space when it closed at the end of summer 2016. The aching vocal is perfect, the yearning bass and the tumbling, woody drums irresistible, the whole thing a stone cold classic. The flip of this reissue features a raw and steamy house mix from Hex Hector.

Review: Outta Sight's third 7" is another vital pair of hugely desirable, collectible, and rare Northern Soul singles. They are both taken from the new Club Classics album of remastered floor filler anthems and are well deriving of their own slice of wax. These singles from Connie Laverne and The Anderson Brother were put out first in 1974/95 shortly before the GSF label folded. They were DJ-only promos which accounts for their rareness and come with plenty of rumours attached. Musically they are gems that were played from the birth of the scene at Manchester's Twisted Wheel to it's heyday at Wigan Casino.
