Review: Colin Newman and Malka Spigel have had a prolific run of form with their Immersion project, a concept that began all the way back in 1994, and one that has always been released via their own Swim label. No need to mention, really, but yes, Newman is the dude from Wire - so pay attention. Aside from the fact that all their material as a duo has been nothing short of incredible and visionary over the years, but this latest 10" is fully representative of their best material, and if you're into mesmerising lo-fi electronic music, then look no further and be quick, because these are pretty limited! "Always The Sea" drops us into an ocean of deep, manipulated strings and tones, a channel which develops beautifully into five warm and cinematic soundscapes for the dreamers. Hot. Red hot.
