Review: Shout out to the newly launched Onedub which opens its account here with a nice clean dancehall 12" that features Danman on 'Fussing N Fighting.' It has bright digital synth sounds and natty leads over airy, rubbery drums. The legendary Indica Dubs then step up for a hefty dub that becomes much more dark and menacing thanks to the sheer scale of the cavernous bass. Two further dubs take up the flip side for some melon twisting, sound system testing brilliance. This is a fine start to what is sure to become a label well worth following.

This latest 10" kicks off with Danman's "Jah Love Is True" with its lazy drums and ricocheting hits, then in house team Indica Dubs & Conscious Sounds link up for a dub before then offering "Spirit Of HIM", with big warrior leads and pillow drums and bass ready to sink right into. A further dub of this one finds them get busy on the studio dials and take you on a more heady trip.

Review: 2020 marks a decade since Sukh Gill started the Indica Dubs project, which now incorporates an online record shop, soundsystem and record label. Naturally Gill features prominently on the label's latest release, which begins with a soulful chunk of digital reggae goodness from Danny Red, "You No Better". Gill joins forces with Conscious Sounds to deliver the "Better Dub" rework, where echoing guitar motifs and delay-laden vocal snippets ride a denser and weightier revision of Red's groove. The partnership continues on side B, where the "Humble Thyself" version - an instrumental take on the EP's lead cut - is followed by the heavier, wilder and more sub-heavy "Humble Dub".

Review: The 19th release on Mania Dub takes us back to the early 1990s and the iconic UK dub productions of Russell Bell-Brown AKA the Disciples. First issued on Boom Shack A Lacka, 'Return to Addis Ababa' is a bona fide soundsystem anthem that wraps drifting, echoing synthesizer lead lines and bouncy piano stabs around a chunky digi-dub grooves. It's accompanied on the A-side by two further dub versions, both of which are wilder, weightier and more skeletal than the EP leading 'Version 1'. Turn to the flip for 2002 cut 'Fearless', a more hot-stepping and cheeky digi-dub number that this time round is not only accompanied by the dub style 'Version 2' mix, but also the previously unheard, heavy steppers style 'Version 3' revision.

Review: The Disciples and Boomshackalaka Sound Systems 'Mission of Dubs' comes from the early 90s and is an in-demand and seriously heavyweight instrumental in a Jah Shaka style. Now it is reissued on a strictly limited 10" as three different but equally deadly versions. 'Mission Of Dub' comes on strong with its warrior leads and swaggering drums all overlaid with dreamy little keys. 'Dub Ammumission' is more dark and driving, with crashing hits to wake you from your reverie. 'Missions Dub" (part 3)' closes out with a straight up dancefloor assault.

Review: Rejoice dub heads, because the next Boom-Shacka-Lacka release is here and it's a killer as always. Anyone who has been to a sound system over summer may well have heard Jah Shaka running the test pressing through various basins and getting great reactions. Well, now you can own it yourself on wax. 'Mash Down' is a happy rejoice with swaggering drums and big horns that then get stripped away and made into something much more cerebral on the dub mix. 'Mystic Flame' brings the late-night charm and enticing melodies over snaking beats that permeate your soul.

Review: The Disciples' Russ Bell-Brown has just dropped a great collection of instrumentals on the Experiments LP on Thank You and now Partial serve up a couple of remixes of the group's 'Sabotage' and 'Steppers Nah Sleep' tune. The a-side features 'Sabotage' (Destruction mix), an absolute thriller with oodles of echo and reverb, head-mashing cosmic sounds and alluring kick patterns. It's the same with the deeper, even more heady flipside. These are more highly regarded sounds from this well-respected dub outfit.

Review: Dubshop.nl is on a roll at this early stage in its life and for the third outing from the Dutch dub lovers we get a nice white 10" with some real heady tackle from The Disciples. Originally produced and mixed by Russ D. at the Backyard Studio and dropped in 2004 on Boom Shaka, this reissue brings two softer delights back to the fore. 'Oh Jah Jah' is a nice, slow-motion churner with mystic flute leads and natty chords. It stretches out over eight mesmerising minutes and the flipside 'Jah Militia Dub' slows things down with amore organic feel and rich percussion.
