Review: Something of a super album, one of the greatest psychedelic bands of all time contributes to the Live At Levitation series; recordings laid down at the iconic event in Austin, Texas, itself formerly known as Austin Psyche Fest - one of the genre's pinnacle shows.
As ever, the Tokyo band deliver nothing short of a masterclass in mood, vibe and ambience - crafting epic rock odysseys that switch tempo and tone but still manage the kind of coherency many more traditional songs fail to achieve. They grow and groove their way through guitar-fuelled journeys both opiate and intense. What a show it must have been, and those who weren't there will feel a prang missing out, but what an album it has created, one that will likely stand the test of time.
