Review: Following on from Slayer's 2019 farewell tour, (which has now been made semi-redundant by their recently announced comeback festival run), scalp-tatted axeman Kerry King made it clear that he would need to be dragged kicking and screaming from the metal realm, regardless of the activity of his primary project. Hence, we arrive at the endearing curmudgeon of thrash metal greatness on his debut solo affair From Hell I Rise. Not on his lonesome, however, as King has tapped a one of a kind supergroup line-up to enlist him in his continual 40 year effort to melt faces. Accompanied by former Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph, ex-Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel, Kyle Sanders of HELLYEAH on bass and Death Angel's Mark Osegueda handling vocal duties, expect breakneck paced mayhem, frenetic riffage and masturbatory shredfests as far as the ear canals can capture.
