Review: This huge release is a must for fans of their We Are & Syndikaat releases! Zahn and Eidolon manage to crush the minimal trend into a ball and throw it back at the masses. This release is already played by the likes of Jesse Somfay, Agaric, Someone Else, Tim Xavier and Tony Rohr.

Refracted (8:40)
Cyclic (5:31)
Gravity Waves (6:45)
Blueshift (7:30)
Review: 25 years ago, one of the most essential deep & dubby techno projects put forth its roots in the form of the 'JS' and 'MCMLXV' labels. Two decades later the consistency & quality of James' output is as solid as ever. The aptly titled Universe EP showcases the breadth of his talent; from the atmosphere-skimming feel of 'Refracted', to the melodic vibes of 'Cyclic'. The flip sees more familiar territory in the abrasive 'Gravity Waves', and the expansive & soaring 'Blueshift' has future classic written all over it. Timeless material.

Love Train (7:16)
Instant Delight (6:17)
Phonky Music (5:05)
Review: ZKY who minimal fans will know as one half of Cab Drivers now finds himself on fine French label Phonogramme with a new EP that offers up his lovely and warm analogue house jams. 'Love Train' kicks off with a nagging, wobbly baseline between silvery drum loops and fleshy bass. 'Instant Delight' has the sort of synths that bring to mind deep Detroit techno and they're paired with over sized hi hats and a serene sense of futurism. Last of all is the most playful - 'Punky Music' with James Brown samples, smeared chords and steamy vocals.

Gewissen (1:05)
Rhythm Tension (10:33)
Zephyr (6:13)
Rehash Repeat (7:11)
Review: Brawther's Negentropy label has already carried gold star material from Ron Obvious and the man himself, and now it's the turn of debutant producer Zweizig to show off his wares. This assured 12" leads in with the ambient intro "Gewissen" before the crisp minimal funk of "Rhythm Tension" kicks in with its shimmering and shuddering sound design pinging around the dexterous beat. "Zephyr" is a smoky affair with a snappy broken beat and lots of subtle organic matter writhing in the middle distance. "Rehash Repeat" takes things deep and dubby to complete the set, all mellow hiccupping rhythm accents and hazy melodic phrases.

Static Refil (DJinxx's Moods)
Review: Zwo! are Tony Blunt and Ivan Murias, producers and owners of the mighty Thump Elektroniks label. Their brand new EP "You And Others" is released on D Press Industries. Here they present their most melodic and most danceable release, creating two tantalising tracks of deep Detroit techno.

Tell Me About Paradise (6:15)
Tangie Groove (6:11)
Lucid Dreams (5:09)
Smoking In Silence (5:07)
Crimson Cheeks (5:18)
Days Like These (5:37)
Shark Rodeo (feat Jeremy Black) (5:55)
Next Level Looseness (5:42)
Review: European techno powerhouse Rekids welcomes back Minneapolis-raised DJ and producer Dustin Zahn for a second album seven years after his last. Gain of Function is a perfect fir for this label with its muscular drums, elastic bass and driving sense of techno warmth. Every track here is economical but never minimal: the way Zahn crafts his sounds means each one makes its own impact, be it a well treated vocal, a hammering kick drum or a serene synth that backlights a track. There are deeper moments like 'Smoking In Silence' next to more tripped out head-fuckery such as 'Shark Rodeo' and it all makes for a fantastic full length.
