At Town Hall is one of the most celebrated of all the albums put out by Nina Simone, and it was also her first live record. It finds her at her raw and emotional best despite it being her third album in the year of release. Simone's performance at the Town Hall, New York, on 12 September 1959 was captured in full although three of the tracks she sang were later swapped out for studio versions. This special release also comes with bonus tracks recorded at a concert at The Village Gate also in New York, two years later.
