Review: Written and recorded at pace just ahead of their grandest tour yet, UK rock band Wonderhorse's 'The Rope' comes afire of an in-and-out session at London's RAK Studios with producer Loren Humphrey, best known for work with Florence & The Machine and Arctic Monkeys. The track leans into the same straight-to-tape immediacy that drove Midas, the band's second album and a noticeable step away from the more patient songwriting of Cub. Jacob Slater is in sharper dress here, fusing classic indie and garage affray. It's a fitting release for a band that's shifted from low-key Cornish retreat to sold-out venues in just a few years, keeping the rough edges intact even as the stages grow.
