Review: JRareman might sound like the name of a old-time dubstep producer from the UK, but you're mistaken. Perhaps you're thinking of Paleman or Oneman, because Rareman is a lot newer to the game. Despite being "new", he knows his rareness is a virtue; scarcity begets value, and given the culture of dubplate exclusives in the scene, the dubstep community definitely knows it. This debut release by the Londoner hears him delivers two bits of deep and minimal dubstep with a naughty UK garage twist, 'Skillz' being the bouncy and catchy number with the usual ingredients set of chopped vocals, rolling bass and crisp percussion, and 'More Vibes' coming as the more laid-back and spacious breakstepper. Perhaps after this release, there'll be no artists so sought-after as the precious and coveted Rareman.
