Review: Slovenian dubstep dons DubDiggerz curate the new collection for their "Chapter" series with this quartet of glorious gloom. CLZ returns to the label with "Haunt", a sludgy number that sucks you in like sinking sand. It's followed by a killer VIP of "Watch Yah Steppa" where a spicy little sample is added to the mix for extra hype. Flip for "Madness" as DubDiggerz bring Rawland into the fold with a tense workout that's prone to sudden textural twists and boasts stacks of space between the percussion. Finally Flo & Gisaza close the EP with a moody marching piece that rumbles ominously building up to big waves of eastern mysticism. Depend on DeepEnd.

Review: Hotline continue to channel the most exciting sounds to be dissipating from the Bristol locale with their latest release a double pack from the mighty Ishan Sound! Chris Ebdon is evidently sitting on a wealth of Ishan Sound dubs with this double pack for Hotline following on from a self-titled Peng Sound release of a similar nature earlier this year. Presented in striking yellow, these six cuts find Ishan Sound working with the rolling vocal style of Rider Shafique, and sees Ebdon bring his more club-orientated style to the fore. Review: Italian vocalist Marina P is the guest on this new 12", and she brings something different than anyone who knows her work might expect. On the brand new single from the forthcoming Radikal Guru album 'Beyond The Borders', she offers a soulful and human counterpart to the shiny metallic drums and urban dubstep bass all around her. She muses on the struggles communities face in the modern day and the mediative beats only serve to heighten the message. The original is backed by two roots style exclusive remixes by the Guru himself.

Review: Rarefied's Black label rolls out another class bit of deep dubstep here with Rarefied at the buttons. His edits of two classic tunes update them nicely while retiring the vibe of the originals. 'Figaro' is a moody one with a low slung swagger and bouncy hits next to wispy cosmic melodies. 'Sparkalus' then has a heady and stoner vibe with its mystic flutes over reverb rich drum staggers. It's a cavernous chamber of sound that invites you right into the core before a nice LFO wobble keeps you there.

Review: JRareman might sound like the name of a old-time dubstep producer from the UK, but you're mistaken. Perhaps you're thinking of Paleman or Oneman, because Rareman is a lot newer to the game. Despite being "new", he knows his rareness is a virtue; scarcity begets value, and given the culture of dubplate exclusives in the scene, the dubstep community definitely knows it. This debut release by the Londoner hears him delivers two bits of deep and minimal dubstep with a naughty UK garage twist, 'Skillz' being the bouncy and catchy number with the usual ingredients set of chopped vocals, rolling bass and crisp percussion, and 'More Vibes' coming as the more laid-back and spacious breakstepper. Perhaps after this release, there'll be no artists so sought-after as the precious and coveted Rareman.
