Review: It could be argued that this fifth instalment of the ambient-inspired Soma Coma series is the most impressive volume yet. While the tried-and-tested formula of previous releases remains think Soma family favourites slowing the pace, and label newcomers showing their downtempo composition skills the quality and diversity of material is particularly noteworthy. While some familiar names drop superb contributions check the dark dub vibes of Alex Smoke, or Gene Farris' skunk-infused beats the best material actually comes from the lesser-known names. Check, in particular, the intricate melodies of Decimal's ambient epic "The Lesson Of Hope", the sax-riddled stoner jazz-funk of Chaser's "Sleazy Listening", and Hatikvah's blissful Rhodes and guitar jam "Deadalus".
