Review: Some critics have complained that the Chemical Brothers' Born In The Echoes - their first studio album in five years - is not distinctive enough from their previous work. Arguably, this is actually the album's greatest strength. Sure, it sounds like it was cut from the same cloth as, say, 1999's Surrender or 2001's Come With Us, but is that such a bad thing? The beats are bold, the electronics trippy, the acid lines intense, and the rock influences wild and unwieldy. Like those sets, there are plenty of guest vocalists - Q-Tip and Beck being the most notable stars - and moments that recall their greatest work (see the "Let Forever Be" style dancefloor psychedelia of "I'll See You There").

Review: It's been nearly eight years since Orbital's last full-length, the decidedly mediocre Blue. For this unlikely comeback album, the Hartnoll brothers have wisely gone back to what they did best - namely club-friendly electronica bristling with big moments, cinematic melodies and catchy synth riffs. There are tracks that recall their greatest work - see the "Belfast"-ish strings of "Stringy Acid" or "The Girl With The Sun In Her Head" style "New France" - and cuts that offer a timely reminder of their ability to create sublime electronic music. It's not perfect, by any means - there are two awkward and incongruous attempts at dubstep - but there's enough to excite, not least a bonus disc containing rousing live versions of some of their greatest hits.

Recorded at Regal's then ad-hoc home studio (now in limbo), over an intense four month period in 2006, "Loop Dreams" is a little gem from the one-time original founding member of both The Wiseguys (Wall Of Sound) and Bronx Dogs (Heavenly/Marble Bar), two of the UK's most revered underground acts of the nineties.

Review: Saint Etienne's Casino Classics is one of a handful of titles that can genuinely be described as a classic remix album. On its original release on Heavenly in 1996, it gathered together fine reworks from the likes of Masters at Work, Andrew Weatherall (whose seminal version of "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" still sounds stunning), Aphex Twin and the Chemical Brothers. Here, it gets a reissue, with some of the best mixes - David Holmes booming take on "Like A Motorway" and Underworld's atmospheric take on "Cool Kids of Death" included - being joined by a second disc of later mixes and lesser-known tweaks. While some of the newer reworks don't pass muster, the Broadcast mix of "Angel" is stunningly beautiful.

Review: After releasing a number of singles solo, Ingram worked with Carl Craig, Anthony Shakir and Kenny Dixon, Jr. for Urban Tribe's first full-length album on MoWax. He is best known for one of the all-time great Detroit Techno classics, 'Covert Action', which appeared on the legendary Retroactive imprint in 1990, to be reissued by Planet E in 2002. Prior to that he worked on one of Kirk DeGiorgio's New Electronica albums, all the way back to the beginning with Juan Atkins & 'NASA' in 1987. Most people would recognize him today by his 'Drexciyan DJ Stingray' moniker, as his electric sessions have entertained world wide in recent years.
