Review: A nearly weekly crock of hip-hop remixes ekes through our floodgates on the regular, and we relish the opportunity to review each one. On this new 7" rarity from The Influence Records, the Cowbell Brothers and Jazz Souls take respective reins on remix duties of Jurassic 5's 'Red Hot' on the A and Souls Of Mischief's '93 Til Infinity' on the B-side. Dry, wry and sly acapellas cement a scratchy and vinyl-ready pair of instrumentals.

Review: Hold on tight for this first transmission from new funk label The Influence from US It kicks off with a limited edition blue 7" featuring a pair of tunes that are built on big funky breaks. The Cowbell Brothers open up with 'Too Hot to Handle' which is a super cool joint with smooth bars over leggy drums and nice breaks. On the flipside is The Jazz Souls classic 'Inner City Chill' which features a number of well-worn samples that you will recognise and are sure to still vibe off. This is a great start to what is sure to be a top label.

Review: Super limited, super handy 7" this one from US label The Influence which combines funk, breaks, house, hip hop and soul. The Jazz Souls kick off with some unabashed use of James Brown samples on 'Get With It.' Eventually, it becomes a rolling and funky hip hop number with florid melodies. On the flip side, The Cowbell Brothers 'Style Like Mine' has dirty bass riffs, tin-pot percussion and big breaks topped off with steamy female vocals. Great tools to liven up the club.
