Erica Synths Black Mixer/Splitter V2 is an advanced replacement for stackable patchcables.

Everyone who knows a bit more about electronics will point out that stackable patchcables are not a really wise choice for such sensitive things as musical instruments because they mechanically connect electrical signals that at best can cause undesired modulations or even damage the modules.

Erica Black series are high-end modules with unique functionality. Only the highest quality components are used and all inputs and outputs are protected against undesired overvoltage. When designing the Black Series, design and usability were prioritised first. Big knobs are assigned to functions that make difference in sound. Together the Erica Black series are a range of modules that make an entire synthesizer.

Notes: Module A-150-1 (Dual VCS) contains two separate voltage-controlled switches.

Each switch has a control voltage input, a common Out / Input, and two In / Outputs. The switches are bi-directional: they can work in both directions, so can connect one input to either of two outputs, or either of two inputs to one output. Voltages in the range -8V...+8V at the O/I resp. I/O sockets can be processed by the module.

Two LEDs show which in / output is active (i.e. which is connected to the common out / input).

Notes: The QUANTIZER takes four different CV inputs and processes them in a way that the CV values "snap" to the exact values so that oscillators controlled by the outputs of the module play the notes of a selected musical scale. With an encoder one of 16 scales can be selected and is displayed in a text display,

SCALE Knob - selects the current scale. 16 scales are available, the selected scale will be displayed in the small display to the right of this knob
LOCK Switch - prevents accidental changes of the selected scale when activated

Notes: A cousin to the more complex Pressure Points, the PRSS PNT offers a single touch-sensitive copper pad which generates up to four channels of CV and gate signals based on the placement of your finger.

Supplier's Notes
The PrssPnt music synthesiser module is a controller in which several signals are generated by touching the printed copper wire at the bottom of the instrument. Touching PrssPnt, you become part of the circuit, generating a total of four simultaneous signals (two CV, two Gate).

The basic function of PrssPnt will be familiar to anyone who has used Pressure Points or 0-CTRL. It could be seen as a single "souped-up" channel of one of these devices. Since it is a single channel, the tuned voltage outputs are not relevant, and instead are replaced with more playable sensitivity controls and alternate pressure and gate outputs.

Notes: Mult 1U Intellijel Format

This is a buffered/active mult with LED indicator. You get two channels of 1 to 3 multiples within a 2HP module. The output of channel 1 is normalled to channel 2 so it can also be treated as a 1 to 6 multiple as well.

Active vs Passive mults:

With a passive mult you are effectively just plugging multiple things into the same jacks. This will often cause some voltage drop in each of the signals. With an active (or buffered) mult you will not get any voltage drop from the original signal.

Notes: FM synthesis for the AE!

The FMOS is a new digital oscillator that brings FM synthesis to the AE modular! It offers the basic FM synthesis with one oscillator and one modulator, running both with sine waves or triangle waves. The modulation depth and frequency ratio of the modulator can be set with a knob and additionally by CV control. If you want pure sine waves, this is for you too - simply set the modulation level to 0.

The module is based on a simple 8-bit microcontroller and an adapted design of Jan Ostman.

Notes: Two control sections provide a sweepable cut or boost to a selectable upper and lower frequency band. The module has two ac-coupled audio inputs, one of which has an attenuation control for basic mixing, and a single audio output.

The 'PE-1' is inspired by the EQ circuits used in early 'Portastudio' type 4 track tape mixers. Warm up a digital source, fine control a live performance, extend a mixer, tweak a feedback loop - there are many uses for this great sounding EQ.

Notes: While ADDAC were working on the new VC Stompboxes several expression pedals were tested and it became clear that most often, while playing a modular system, your hands are busy.
It's also normal to have an expression pedal lying around somewhere, so ADDAC have brought these back, cleaned up the dust and put them to good use.
This module allows the connection of any standard expression and sustain pedal.

The expression pedal action can be fine-tuned with Range and Offset knobs.
Range defines the voltage range (-10v, +10v).
Offset transposes the range by (-5v, +5v).

Notes: The 'Stereo Sum' is a unity gain summing mixer that features four stereo input pairs summed as pairs to two independent mix outs or all as a single combined mix. Notes: MAR is a multichannel dual mixer module for the modular synthesizer. Both mixers are capable of mixing audio, CV and gate signals because they are DC coupled. MAR has two independent 4-channels mixers:

Mixer X: Is a four channel mixer with gain control for each channel. The potentiometers use logarithmic tape to have a good control with audio signals. This mixer features two outputs, the mixer output and its inverted. The output level is shown in the LED.

Mixer Y: Is a four channel mixer with gain control for the sum of the Y channels. If no jack is connected to the input Y1, the output of the Mixer X is normalled to Mixer Y. PPEXP1 & PPEXP2 are two expander modules for Pamela's PRO Workout that both offer additional dedicated fixed clock, Din Sync & MIDI clock outputs.

Extend Pam as a master to clock external gear with super solid dedicated MIDI & Din Sync clock outputs. The Din Sync clock (x24) and Run outputs can also be patched into a 2nd Pam to easily sync it.

Notes: An interface for the case 1/4" jacks in Intelljel cases. The jacks are marked as if they are part of the case, so the jacks marked out, require an input.

The module sports both input and output for either a consumer line level (0.447Vpk) or a professional line level (1.095Vpk). These levels are controllable via jumper on the back of the module. It can also have a single input and output channel switched to pedal level. The case output is fed to the headphone amp that has a corresponding level control. The module otherwise does not have any level control and relies on using a VCA or other module to perform any level controls.

The module can essentially be run in one of three modes:

1) Stereo line level in and out

2) Stereo line level in and out via the left side and mono pedal in and out on the right side. In this mode the stereo line levels leverage TRS on the 1/4" jacks. You can use the included 3.5mm couplers to get TRS on the 3.5mm side.

3) Mono line level in and out via the left side and mono pedal in and out on the right side.

Temperature stable and accurate circuit design. The attenuator is exponential and can be regulated more precisely in the initial range.

As an attenuverter, the fader describes an S-curve, i.e. it is in Range +/- 0 finer adjustable. The AC gain is 1, so there is no loss at maximum Att/Attv settings.

The offset potentiometer shift by +/- 5 volts and can be switched to another mode on the back of the PCB using jumpers.

Here the attenuation is towards zero made until it is zero.

The normal mode leaves the voltage at the specified offset value.

Channel A is normalized to channel B so you can get two different CVs.

On the rear side of the PCB, you have a jumper to switch from offset pre fader (good for ADSR) and post fader.

3 blocks of 2-channel attenuverting mixers, using dual concentric pots. Each channel can be switched to mix with the subsequent channel, allowing for 2-2-2, 4-2, 6 mix configurations.

With nothing plugged into an input, an offset is normalled to that channel. The inner knobs control the A inputs, while the outer knobs control the B inputs.

Notes: The Kontact MIC is a lo-fi theme park. It's a Eurorack microphone preamp with a piezo contact mic built into the panel.

The creative applications are endless: finger percussion/rubbing/scratching, guitar input (works surprisingly well with just a little lofi crunch), acoustic sources to CV, etc.

The PCB fibreglass has quite a nice rough texture - rubbing it with a finger or a plectrum creates quite a wide range of sounds. The back of the panel is plated to expand the surface area of the contact mic. The mic will also pick up all the physical sounds in your modular- patching, cables rustling, switches, fingers on knobs - without picking up airborne sounds i.e. the sound your modular is making. At very high sound levels will pick up vibrations from the speaker output and start to feedback.

The module will work with both DIYed contact mics made from inexpensive piezo transducers, off the shelf contact mics (often called Piezo Pickups) made for guitars and violins which you can pick up for ten bucks from Amazon or eBay or more bespoke mics like the popular Jez Riley French models (including hydrophones!) which are firmly aimed at Sound Designers.

It is an easy way to bring environmental noise and feedback into a modular system, inspired by the early days of electroacoustic music in Paris and Cologne, and by the contact microphone and phonograph cartridge experiments of John Cage, Gordon Mumma, Robert Ashley and Nicholas Collins.

Notes: Module A-179-2 can be used to convert different illumination intensities into corresponding analog voltages and a gate signal derived from the analog voltage. It's the successor of the obsolete module A-179.
A light sensitive resistor (LDR) converts the illumination of the internal light sensor into a corresponding analog control voltage. The internal sensor is located at the front panel. Instead of the internal sensor a remote sensor can be connected via a standard patch cable to the module (ext.Sens. socket). An external sensor with a 2 m patch cable (A-100C200) is included. The external sensor is mounted on a small pc board which is equipped also with a 3.5 mm jack socket. The nut of the socket can also be used to mount the external sensor.

The module A-179 is similar to the Theremin module A-178 but uses the illumination intensity instead of the distance between hand and antenna for generating the analog voltage.
One can choose between passive control by covering/shading the sensor via hand or body, or active control by using e.g. a pocket lamp or flashlight. For this two versions of output voltages are available (CV Out + und CV Out -).

The module has these controls and in/outputs available:

ext. Sens.: by means of a standard patch cable the external sensor can be connected to this socket. In this case the internal sensor is turned off.

CV Offset: control to adjust the output voltage which is assigned to a certain illumination (e.g. 0V for complete darkness)

CV Level: control that is used to adjust the sensitivity of the generated output voltage (i.e. how much a certain difference in brightness affects the output voltage)

Gate Threshold: control that is used to adjust the threshold for the generation of the gate signal, an internal jumper is used to define if the gate signal is derived from the CV Out+ or CV Out- voltage.

CV Out+: positive control voltage output, increasing brighness causes the increase of the voltage at this output

CV Out+: negative control voltage output, increasing brighness causes the decrease of the voltage at this output

LED CV Out: bipolar LED (red/yellow) as display for the CV outputs

Gate: gate output with LED display

Applications:

controlling any voltage controlled parameter e.g. pitch or pulswidth of a VCO, filter frequency or resonance of a VCF, loudness of a VCA, time of an envelope generator, frequency of a VCLFO
triggering activities via gate with adjustable threshold, e.g. starting an envelope, starting/stopping a sequencer or any switching function (e.g. with A-150-1 or 151).
Conversion into MIDI control change messages is possible with the A-192-2.

Notes: Channel extender for MIXCONSOLE.

This module extends the MIXCONSOLE module with three additional channels; the channel level can be controlled via CV here, too. If no CV is attached, the level knob works as usual volume control.

Notes: DRONE38 is a sound generator with 18 oscillators in total, organized in six groups of three oscillators each. 12 of them can be switched between sawtooth and triangle waves, 6 are fixed sawtooth oscillators.

The groups can be mixed individually with 3 mixer knobs, where each 2 groups can be assigned to the level. Additionally, each group can be activated /"played" with buttons near the group.

The oscillators are not meant to be controlled by CVs, but only set static with a knob. By mixing them, very dense drones and clusters can be created.

Additionally, 6 oscillators can be synced to other ones for extending the sonic palette.

Notes: Let's talk about filters - not your usual, souped up, CV controlled stereo-enabled monstrosity, but just regular old filters for EQ'ing and smaller filtering duties. That's this, right here - but in stereo, with a wide range and with a highly useful slide pot.

What's it useful for? Any task where you'd like to user a filter, but sacrificing an entire filter module might be overkill. Submixing and cutting out the highs of a signal, feedback, amplifying the lows in a bass drum, tone control - there are many reasons you would want a passive low pass filter. Two, even! Either one for your left and right input, or one for two different but linked mono inputs. Neat!

This filter is fully passive, only 2hp and skiff friendly with a very shallow installation depth. It's also particularly good looking in black and gold.

Notes: A (buffered) mult is an essential item in every rack. This buffered DC-coupled module will fulfill all your audio and CV multiplying needs.

With a little switch on the back the module can be configured in two different modes.
The 1-to-8 mode speaks for itself, offering eight identical copies of your input signal.

The double mode offers a 1-to-4 and 1-to-3 buffered multiple with the first input getting normalised to all output jacks if the second input stays unused.

Notes: Module A-184-2 is the combination of two functions and planned primarily as an expansion module for VCOs or LFOs (e.g. A-110-1, A-110-2, A-145, A-147-2).

Triangle-to-Sine Waveshaper:

The upper section is a very precise triangle-to-sine converter (thanks to Tim Stinchcombe who recommended this circuit). It can be used to convert any triangle waveform into a (nearly) perfect sine. The converter is much better than the simple diode converter used in the A-110-1, A-111-1, A-145 and A-147-2. Two trimming potentiometers are used to optimize the sine shape. The converter should be assigned to one VCO or LFO because the trimming potentiometers have to be re-adjusted if the input level or DC offset of the input signal changes. If the trimming potentiometers are deliberately mis-adjusted it can be used also as a waveshaper for non-sine waveforms (e.g. sine-shaped at the top of the signal and a peak at the bottom, even voltage controlled by applying an additional voltage to the waveshaping circuit, "circuit-bending" notes will be available).

The waveform converter is DC coupled and can be used also for low frequencies (e.g. LFO triangle waves).

Voltage Controlled Crossfader:

The lower section is a voltage controlled crossfader. It has two inputs A and B. The two signals are mixed together with variable percentage. When the manual control CF is fully CCW only signal A appears at the CF Out socket. When the manual control CF is fully CW only signal B appears at the CF Out socket. In the centre position of the manual control both signal appear with the same level. In addition a control voltage input CV with attenuator is available to enable voltage control of the crossfade.

Two LEDs display the crossfading shares of input A and B.

The crossfader uses two high quality VCAs (SSM2164). Inputs and outputs are DC coupled. Consequently it can be used for audio signals and slowly varying control voltages as well.

The sockets of the upper section (triangle and sine) are normalled to the inputs A and B of the crossfader section. That way the crossfader is used to fade between triangle and sine of the VCO or LFO connected to the waveshaper. If other signals are plugged into the input sockets A and B these signals are used for crossfading.

The main application is to fade between two different waveforms of a VCO or LFO or two different VCF outputs. But the module can be used for any other signals too as the waveshaper and crossfader sections are independent apart from the normalled sockets.

Notes: This module offers a four-quadrant-control for CVs via its joystick.

The module can act either as CV source at its four outputs, or as four-quadrant attenuator for the CV inputs. Beyond this, a mix of the input CVs according to the joystick position is provided separately.

Another feature is a gate output that is controlled by pressing the joystick handle.

The joystick remains in each position - there is no automatic "return to centre".

The JOYSTICK module can operate in two different modes:

Quadrants independent: In this mode, all outputs are zero when the joystick is in centre position
Overlapped: In this mode, each quadrant output fades from full to zero over the whole range to the opposite corner.

Notes: The uFM is an oscillator module, that is focused on FM synthesis.

It's basically a two-operator FM synthesis, but with extended functionality: The operator waveforms can be either sine waves (classic FM), or four other different combinations of non-sinewave waveforms, that produce a much broader palette of sounds beyond the classic sinewave based FM synthesis.

The MOD DPT knob controls the modulation depth; in combination with a button press also the multiplier of the modulating operator can be defined.

Both parameters can be controlled also by CV and also via IMDI by MIDI controllers. The pitch can be controlled via 1V/octave CV or also via IMDI e.g. from a DAW

Additional to the normal audio output a suboctave output with a squarewave is provided, and a third output with the mix of the primary oscillator signal and the suboctave.

Quite a lot for such a tiny module, right?
