Review: London-based duo the Cheshire Catz, Dan Gerrett and Jon Blond, are one of the hottest properties in the UK's house scene. Born out of the infamous Cheshire Street Sessions house parties, the Catz have since forged a strong reputation with their acid, electro, techno and trance influenced house, aimed squarely at the dance floor. Over the last 18 months they have played alongside the likes of heavy-hitters Hernan Cattaneo, Satoshie Tomiie, Eric Prydz, Tom Stephan, Tim Sheridan, new stars like Dan Ghenacia, Aldrin, Mike Monday and loads more. The Catz collaborated with Timo Garcia for his Berwick St imprint and their first release together '"Discotech" that became Pete Tong's "Essential New Tune" on Radio 1. Their own label, Fakt Recordings, now launches in June 2006. Cheshire Catz are Mixmag's "Heroes" and DJ Magazines "One's To Watch". Their Cheshire St parties in East London attract 1,500 clued up clubbers and have led to accolades from The Guardian and Time Out newspapers. This release features on Underwater's "Deepgroove" compilation out September 2006. Fakt will tap into Ministry Of Sound, Turnmill and The End's extensive databases when "Sedition DJ" events company promotes the release in clubs nationally. Cheshire Catz are residents at "Nasty Dirty Sex Music" and "Very Very Very Wrong Indeed" parties at The Ministry of Sound and Turnmills. These DJs are clearly on the cutting edge of house technology.
