Zeta Reticula is the electro alias of Slovenian techno titan Umek and for more than 20 years now he has been serving up sounds from the vanguard. After a fine outing back in June he quickly follows it up with another adventurous 12", this time on Eudemonia. His style is cinematic and as heavy on the synth details and lush atmospheres as it is the rhythms. There is plenty of far-sighted melodic majesty to these cuts - a sense of forlornness and rueful reflection that always brings real meaning to the dancefloor. The subtle but rising sense of joy and euphoria in 'An Activity Cycle' makes it our fav here.
