21 shades of freak from the illuminati of lost sides, from retroverts Light Sounds Dark who bring you some true oddities from the fringes of synthtopia of wayback when. Eiterschlangen aka Thomas Kallweit's eerie "Track 7" may have come from the late '80s, while the dark cosmic ambient of Konstrucktivists "Track 11" comes courtesy of yet another act that had a very minor moment of activity - in this case the early nineties. Some of our favourites on here were from Dutch punk funk outfit Nexda: who serve up the very cool "Untitled". Likewise Ger de Jong heads up an obscure electronic industrial ritual project from the Netherlands and merges pan-pipes, Gregorian chants and various improvised electronics on "Track 14". And of course there's Rich La Bonte: ever heard of him? No, neither had we, but we're ever curious now after hearing the hypnotic "Mayan Canals" - which sounded like a cross between the synth punk of legends Suicide and the spoken word weirdness of the late Robert Ashley.
