Starting up the Monochromatic imprint in style, two fine examples of deep house exploration show their skills off with a track each on this slab. Specter is up first, mixing together cavernous tones with cheeky FM bell leads and a strange off key chord stab for the central melodic hook, delivered through the Fred P school of atmospheric reverb usage while the beat ticks away dutifully. Having only scored a remix prior to this more noticeable appearance, Banfield Audio is supremely focused in their mission with a hypnotic square wave bassline and elegant drum machine beat, with very little else in the way of distractions.
