There is a distinctive New York flavour to this steamy disco package from Sheryl Lee Ralph. Her 'In The Evening' gets the famous Dr Packer treatment with three subtly different versions served up on 12". The first is all cosmic synth arps which reach for the stars over gurgling bass and crispy drums. The dub is laden with effects and even more sci-fi motifs and then the original is included and might just be the best with its leggy drums, most expressive vocals and the unbeatable original 80s feel.
