Tenno vinyl

Reiko Omura and Tori Kudo have been part of the Japanese avant-garde music scene for over four decades. Known for their exploits in outfits such as El To Arnat, Maher Shalal Hash Baz or Guys & Dolls, it was as Noise where something truly awe-inspiring happened in the late '70s and early '80s. Described as a noise-drone-improv group, they began under the name Worst Noise and with a rotating line up. The group eventually stabilised as a duo, with Kudo on organ and Omura on vocals, guitar and trumpet. On their debut release Tenno, originally released in 1980 on Engel Record, Kudo's 'extended organ-based dirges' merged with the fragile, meditative harmonies found in Omura's voice.
