Dim Division CD

It's been some 12 years since San Francisco deep house don Miguel Migs released his fine debut album, Colorful You. In truth, his subsequent albums have failed to match the dizzy heights attained by this Naked Music-era beauty. It's for this reason that Dim Division is such an enjoyable listen. In it, Migs - assisted by an impressive line-up of guest vocalists (including Tim Fuller, Lisa Shaw and Omar) - returns to his roots, laying down a series of effortlessly soulful tracks blessed with his usual dub-flecked deep house production, shimmering electrofunk influences and vibrant synthesizer riffs. It's a thing of simple beauty, and undoubtedly his best work for some time.
