Scouring the prolific wealth of Perry material can be paralyzing - this is an almost insurmountable condition in today's age of online-mediated music a la carte, where in which, terrifyingly for upstart fans seeking to establish some semblance of taste, just about every release is available for listening at the click of a mouse - this one is thankfully among the best, with Goldenlane doing well to recapture the Upsetters at their zenith. Spanning such far-flung poles as acid dub Afrofutures ('Psyche & Trim') and primitivist origin stories in sound ('Return Of The Super Ape'), this is a synthetic, wacky album, and should be regarded as one of the canon that is the outer reaches of dub.
