The Name Is Flaunt vinyl

For the uninitiated, Flaunt Edwards is the electro-focused alias of long-serving American hip-hop producer Jason Jackson, best known for his work as J Rocc. This Leaving Records outing is his first Flaunt Edwards outing since 2013 and, at six tracks deep, his most expansive set of bootleg reworks to date. He begins by giving a Kraftwerk and bustling ghetto-electro makeover on "No Fun" before reaching for the throbbing synth-bass, lilting synth lines and sweet female vocal samples on "Anymore". "Desilu" is a hazy, four-to-the-floor chunk of mambo-sampling madness, while "The Highway" is a ludicrously fast-paced re-imagining of Kraftwerk's "Computer World" with added pitched-down vocal sludginess. The EP closes with a pair of quick fixes; electro DJ tools that tend towards the odd and mind-altering.
