With just one other record out on 87 Records, Esoteric Workshop makes the fourth installment of equally burgeoning label Sensual Rec. a memorable one with some classy adaptations of the minimal house aesthetic. There is an icy cool to the pads on "Sensitiv", but the lead chords flex and bump with the finely chiseled shuffle beat perfectly to create an exotic, dubby flavour. "Teach Yourself To Fly" meanwhile eschews dancefloor pump in flavour of a fluttering rhythmic arrangement rooted in jazz and expressed through micro-sampled electronics. "Roche" is the most cut and dry minimal house track of the bunch, but the EP darts off again with "Playboys & Models" thanks to a particularly crafty bump and grind.
