Review: That man Glenn Underground is back with more of his masterful melodic house workouts as GU aka CVO. 'Jack & The Madman' goes super deep with moody drums wired up with burrowing, melancholic synths and time-keeping hi-hats. 'Nutso Jack' lands with some tribal drum heft and a melange of percussive details and wispy synths while 'Acid Disco (Supadisco)' is a woozy ste night exploration of jazzy keys and solar pads with soft cid lines weaving their way in and out of the beats. It's timeless and fresh once again from this Chicago mainstay.

Review: When Glenn Underground goes digging in his vaults, you want to be there to see what treasure he comes up with. He has done that for a fifth time here and the reuses make up this new 12" on his Strictly Jazz Unit Muzic label. 'Platinum' (Tech Jazz Sessions) is pure Mid-Western house music - a sublime marriage of soulful and jazzy pads with deep, smoky beats. It has a devastating impact and the flipside 'What's Next' (GU vs CVO Project Stone Age Techno mix) is just as much of a mind-altering experience with its whispering cosmic leads conveying a message of great importance.

Review: We will always have time to check out whatever it is that Glenn Underground is serving up. The Chicago house mainstay has carved out his own distinctive sound over the last three decades and much of it comes on his own Strictly Jazz Unit. This latest drop is a reissue of his classic 'Cloud Burst'. It is a track that sits on the more raw and physical end of his personal spectrum with jacked-up drums and plenty of percussion run through with some wispy synths and the crunchiest of snares. A high-impact dancefloor weapon for sure.
