Review: Liquid V’s second Club Sessions follows the successful first edition from a year ago. This album summarises the edgier end of the 'musical' spectrum of drum & bass (mainly referred to as Liquid Funk), showing that a track can have a musical and melodic feel without being smoothed out and bland. The tracks featured on the album include some seriously in-demand remixes including DJ Marky’s remix of AI’s ‘Movin On’, 'Leviticus' 'Big, Bad and Heavy' (Logistics remix), Roni Size ‘It’s a Jazz Thing (Utah Jazz remix)’ and the anthemic A1 track with Robert Owens, 'The Power Within'.

Review: Eleven years ago, Bryan Gee launched the Liquid V Club Sessions mix series as a showcase for both his noted DJ skills, and the fluid, funk-fuelled D&B rollers he was putting out on the Liquid V label. Volume Six - the first installment since 2013 - sticks to the script, with the Cheltenham-raised jungle selector whipping through 23 tip-top liquid D&B selections in little over 70 minutes. Highlights come thick and fast, from the cut-glass strings and bouncy beats of Phase 2's "Come With Me", and throbbing wobble bass and spine-tingling vocal breakdown of L-Side's remix of Simplification & Translate's "Tonight", to the soulful shuffle of Bailey's "Stargazing", featuring the slick, R&B style vocals of Tali.

Review: Earmarked by many as a D&B producer to watch over 2010, Eveson lives up to the hype with this trio of old-skool influenced bangers on Liquid V. With sampled breaks dominating the beats, "So Fine" is minimal but heart-wrenchingly beautiful, with warped vocal shots riding over some subdued chords that are deliberately kept in the background. "Found A Groove" repeats the same trick, with tambourine-heavy breaks keeping the funk while an eerie, reverbed piano builds in the distance. Ending on a slower, downbeat note, "Transitory Spaces" recalls classic Photek material mixed with garage-flavoured vocals. As soul-enhancing as it is banging, Eveson really delivers well on this single.

Review: This EP represents the last selection of tracks from the Liquid V album 'Club Sessions Vol 2 - The Big Picture' to make it to vinyl. Featuring two extra tracks that weren't on the CD mix (from TK and Kabuki) this is not to be slept on. Kabuki and TK stay true to the Liquid vibe whilst still branding the sound with their own signature styles. Irish duo Beta 2 & Zero Tolerance get together to bring some flavour with the full on 'Perseverance' and Kubiks & Lomax offer the chance to get submerged in the mesmerising beats of 'Edge City'. The EP defines, in sound, the meaning of Liquid drum & bass without falling prey to clichés.

Review: Given that new volumes of Liquid V's Club Sessions series are a rarity - the first three volumes appeared over six years - it could be argued that the appearance of a fourth instalment is something of an event. This time round, Liquid V regular Kabuki is at the helm, compiling an unmixed, two-disc selection that neatly showcases the looser, more musically advanced end of the jungle spectrum. As you'd perhaps expect, there's plenty to enjoy, with notable contributions from Peshay, Calibre, Dramatic & DBAudio and, of course, Kabuki himself. There's also a thrilling sunshine smasher from Mr Joseph called "Wonderful Feeling" that's almost worth the admission price on its own.

Review: A real get-together sound on this release as some of the scene's biggest names congregate to create some seriously funky D&B. From start to finish there's soulful vocals, jazzy brass, funky guitars playing out waka-waka sounds, and in track one chopped up vocals seem somewhat reminiscent of good old funky French house around about the mid-90s. Random Movements' offering is a bright wash of jazzy sounds mushed into the deepest wobble ever put to tape. Blade plays the '70s cop show title sequence' card with a fantastically funky bongo-driven roller complete with scene-changing horn blasts, and finally Eveson cools things off with an icy shower of tight percussion, rave-style synths and just a touch of heavily-distorted steel drums. Get involved.

Review: With the exception of scene stalwarts such as LTJ Bukem, few producers have been as dedicated to the liquid D&B cause as Mike 'Random Movement' Richards. It's now been a decade since he dropped his debut single, What A Woman, on Orgone. Here. He celebrates that milestone by delivering a deliciously warm and summery mix-up for Liquid V. As you might expect, it's a decidedly hazy, sun-kissed affair, featuring soul-flecked rollers, jazzy bumpers and disco-tinged groovers from the likes of Logistics, Peshay, Paul SG, Utah Jazz (whose twinkling "The Deep End" is a genuine highlight) and Bailey. The latter steals the show with "Sugar", a cut that makes brilliant use of impassioned Marvin Gaye vocal samples.

Review: The superbly named Savage Rehab continues to impress, doing a very fine job with this release on Liquid V, sub label to Bryan Gee's all conquering V Recordings. A streamlined twelve inch accompaniment to his recent, glorious six-track digital offering, we are offered two contrasting moods to the Savage Rehab palette. "Desire" is all about the energetic tone, pumping bass, punishing breaks and that bellowing female refrain, whilst "The Drums" immediately plunges your senses into a dreamy, subterranean world of clinking keys, pattering drums and murmuring bass.

Review: Second EP of tracks lifted from the Liquid V Club Sessions album. Fresh from his killer release on V Records ('Love & Happiness'), Tommy Boy opens the EP with the dancefloor favourite 'Flip Flops'. Utah Jazz continues the flow with the soulful vibes of 'Runaway' while Danny Byrd (Hospital Records) gains his first Liquid V outing with one of the biggest tracks on the project, 'French Quarter'. Random Movement's 'Stars In The Dark' still gets support in clubland and he rounds the EP off with 'Police State'. Quality music without any of the liquid clichés.
