Review: David Sabel is Birds Ov Paradise, a sound and visual artist from Goteborg, Sweden, who after a few years away makes a retune to the Hypnus Records label. He makes techno with a soft melodic sheen and psychedelic approach that burrows deep into your brain. 'Osiris' is a track with intrigue and mystery that draws you into the rippling melodic motifs, 'Tammuz' is dubby and warped and deep, 'Adonis' is another cavernous sound with watery droplets and bird calls adding detail, with three further mind melting excursion not he flip including the darker 'Attis.'

Review: Modern dub techno technician Mohlao has a hardcore following who snap up his every single release in quick time. He now lands on Sweden's Hypnus with a pair new tunes and a version that are as warm and cavernous as you'd expect. 'Cut' opens up on rolling, gooey pads with static fizzing about the airwaves. 'File' is more roomy still, with autumnal pads and instant bell chimes emptying your mind. A scape version strips back the drums to make for heady ambiance and Dorisburg remixes it into a more propulsive club cut.

Review: Primal Code brought plenty of fresh ideas and new perspectives to their debut album "La Via Della Seta" last year, and continue to do so on this fascinating new 12" for Sweden's Hypnus Records. They have a tribal take on techno that draws on indigenous cultures and instrumentation to make for darkly hypnotic tracks that echo the experimental work of the likes of Donato Dozzy, Neel and even Shackleton. It's mesmerising and cerebral stuff with psychedelic overtones and plenty of intriguing sounds, effects in the swirling ambient pads and deft little hooks that litter the rubbery, drawn out grooves.

Review: Paul Roeleveld is Rambadu, a newcomer with a sound seriously beyond that status. On this EP for Hypnus out of Sweden, he crafts some absorbing atmospheres with distant automata, percolating bass and creepy pads all drawing you deep into opener 'Anja.' 'Vinden' is another spacious and roomy dub techno roller with rooted drums but freeform synths gently meandering about the mix. It is the same story of the meditative 'Alaya' before the more linear and hypnotic 'Visie' rolls on perfectly frictionless drums. An EP of real artistry.

Review: Deep techno lovers Hypnus have been showcasing the work of Paul Roeleveld aka Rambadu for some time. Only back in 2021 was he a newcomer with a sound that belied that status and now a few years on he has kept impressing. 'Yatra' is slow and deep, menacing and full of paranoia as snaking synths slithering along a desolate landscape. 'Nadi' has a dubby undercurrent and percolating grooves that gurgle and spit like molten lava, and 'Reis' is utterly stripped back to deep space pulses and a subtle, barely-there rhythm that is full of suspense. 'Setu' shuts down with more unsettling and otherworldly deepness and alien sound designs.
