Review: Originally released at the start of 1982 via Dischord Records, Flex Your Head would serve as a sampler of some of the most vital hardcore punk acts in the Washington D.C. scene at that time, with several of the contributing bands already broken up and moved onto new groups who also make appearances. For instance, The Teen Idles had already disbanded and formed Minor Threat at this point (with both being fronted by Dischord labelhead Ian MacKaye), while the sampler would also mark the debut or sophomore release for a number of the featured artists, including Untouchables, Government Issue, Iron Cross, and Youth Brigade, whereas the material provided by Red C, Artificial Peace and Deadline, are the only known recorded output of these short-lived yet pioneering groups.
