Review: English new wave legends Duran Duran put out their 11th studio album back in 2004. It was a huge success commercially and reached the heights of number three in the UK Albums Chart, making it their best performing for decade. The record was written in the south of France with Nile Rodgers taking care of some of the preliminary production work. Each tunes glows with bright synth energy and songs like 'Sunrise', 'Still Breathing', 'Virus' and 'Beautiful Colours' were all hugely popular on the tour the band was on at the time.

Review: The eleventh studio album by English new wave band Duran Duran, Astronaut was first met with mixed critical and commercial success compared to their earlier albums like Pop Trash and Seven And The Ragged Tiger, but was no less notable for it being the recorded statement of the reunion of the band's most famous, core five members in 2001. Also an attempt by the band to arrest creative control from the coercive machinations of private interest and bureaucratic record labels, it manifested as an intense and bedazzling, and sometimes bemusing, mixture of synthpop, post-rock and dance-pop, with a curveball in the form of Nile Rodgers handling a good deal of the production.

Review: The Love Invention is the debut solo album by Alison Goldfrapp, the singer of the longtime electronic duo Goldfrapp. Striking out on her own here, it contains 11 tracks in her usual cross-section of house, dance-pop, and nu-disco, but this time around they were co-produced with the likes of Richard X and James Greenwood (aka Ghost Culture) instead. A rallying cry for freedom and cleaving out a space for one's own, the album also deals with subjects such as falsity and authenticity, and takes a lot after the former Goldfrapp project Head First.
