Review: On the heavyweight "EBM Manifest" series, Thomas P Heckmann has already served up a wealth of rugged, intense material for those who like their techno muscular and mind-altering. On volume three, the veteran producer takes a back seat while a quintet of like-minded studio boffins give their takes on his tunes. Scalameriya kicks things off with a throbbing version of "Himmel and Hoelle" that makes great use of pulsating EBM style arpeggios and wild, increasingly intense riffs, before Raul Parra channels the spirit of Nitzer Ebb on a particularly strong revision of "El Hazzared". Elsewhere, the Phase Fatal remix of "Dunkel" is a psychedelic and hypnotic treat, Delectro's take on "EBM 2" is wild and wonderful, and Sarin's revision of "Himmel and Hoelle" might induce hallucinations in weary, intoxicated dancers.

Review: A little over a year since its first release Inherit Germany serves up a third EP of club-focussed sounds. It is the same team behind this one as were being that one - Daniel Heinrich and Disguided. They take no prisoners here with 'Rush to Riot' a blistering techno brutaliser with compressed drums, walls white noise and edgy rave sirens all peaking early. Heinrich then pulls of some fine solo manoeuvres on 'Against The Current', another raved up and bleeping hardcore techno banger. Hadone then remixes the opener into a powerful wave of dark techno and Hioll's take on 'Against The Current' will get you stomping in no time.

Review: Returning to his own M-Plant imprint after a brief sojourn on Radio Slave's REKIDS label, Robert Hood is in particularly wild and wonderful form on Toxin 12. There's no messing around from start to finish, with the Motor City veteran focusing on jackin', sweaty-soaked techno beats, gnarled basslines, red-raw electronic motifs, freaky noises and twisted TB-303 acid lines. The most potent example of this intense and excitement-packed sound is arguably opener 'H-Formula', though the mutilated Hoover noises (and fast-slow-fast tempo) of 'A-472.0' and the tipsy, sub-heavy wonkiness of closing cut 'Dread' (an accurate title for a dark and heady concoction) push it close.

The Fukuinn label from Japan presents the excellent sounds of four underrepresented artists. On the A side is Human Drone with the glassy-eyed and bittersweet melancholia of 'Nite Runner' and Maltese producer Keith Farrugia aka Sound Synthesis with the emotive and introspective electro beats of 'Hertz Frequency'. On the flip, Cool And Frank (from Worcester, Massachusetts) who has appeared previously on imprints such as SLEEPERS, Florklan and FLAWEd, resurfaces with the bleepy, retro micro-funk of 'From The Marsh To The Point' and closing it out is Viewful Joe with the neon-lit electro bass of 'Sugar Daddy'.
