Review: Sometimes, the right track just lands in your lap. That's exactly what happened with Mamacita's 'Tu Amor', a Chilean cover of Jamie Principle & Frankie Knuckles' 'Your Love'. Originally released in 2012, it started making waves after being played in sets by the Idjut Boys, catching the attention of DJ Steve KIW, who passed it on to Mr Bongo. It quickly became a favorite. While playing in Barcelona, Luke Una dropped the track in his set, and it instantly clicked with him. The track's raw, DIY vibe, paired with its quirky arrangement, made it a perfect fit for E Soul Cultura, and now it's getting its first vinyl release. The song was created by Chilean DJ Mamacita (Carolina Vallejos) and producer Persona RS (Sebastian Roman) on lo-fi equipment, channeling a DIY energy that recalls early Chicago house. It became a hit in Chile's underground scene, though it didn't receive much attention outside of Latin America and the US. For this release, Luke Una and Luke Solomon re-edited it, extending the track and emphasising its wonky synths, while still keeping that unique cosmic feel. Both the original and the re-edit are included in this vinyl release, bringing new life to a previously overlooked gem.

Review: P3RF3CT STRANG3RS is a dynamic collaboration between Mexican artist Paurro and New York City vocalist Steven Klavier. Their new track for the red-hot Toucan Sounds is 'Run Away!' and it mixes up slamming drums with chopped-up vocals and high-energy grooves that draw inspiration from iconic club divas. The original comes with a Midland Flow State remix that is bass-heavy and lively, and then comes the second original 'Against' which is slower and more percussive with a tribal twist. This one comes with a remix from Tata Sumo & Lakuti who layer in more colourful synths, swirling dub undercurrents and a sense of soul while paying homage to the golden era of house music.

Review: Pahua, the Mexican singer, percussionist, producer, and DJ, debuts on Razor-N-Tape with a monumental remix project. Formerly part of the beloved band Sotomayor, Pahua embarked on a solo journey in 2020 which culminated in her acclaimed Habita LP on Nacional Records in 2023. With millions of streams, Habita solidified Pahua as a modern voice in the Latin alternative folk and pop scene and now Razor-N-Tape showcases her sound to global dance floors with remixes by both label staples and newcomers. From JKriv's late-night bass mix to Clive From Accounts' moody nu-disco rendition, each track honours the original while infusing quintessential RNT club-ready vibes.

Review: The exceptionally named Panty Soaker Sound System bursts onto the scene here with a powerful debut EP on their own self-titled label. 'Hormones' marks the inaugural outing and is a track that ignites the floor while exploring self-empowerment and inner desires. It has picked up early praise from Honey Dijon and is a full-throttle and steamy, erotic house sound that is sure to become a bit of a winter anthem. The EP includes three acid-infused original mixes, followed by the Prosumer HorMoans Remix which is a dark stomper with prickly 303 lines and a heavy groove. For those craving a harder vibe, the LUXE Dark Room Remix delivers a broken-beat reimagining with high-energy that takes you to new heights.

Review: Pawsa and Adventures of Stevie V breathe new life into an iconic dance classic with an exhilarating update, a gesture of Pawsa's innovative production skills adding a fresh dimension to Adventures of Stevie V's timeless vocals. The 'Extended Mix' is a pulsating journey through house music's vibrant landscape, capturing the raw energy of the original while injecting a contemporary twist. On the flip, David Morales delivers a masterful remix, his 'Sold Out Mix' taking the track into deeper, more soulful territory. A real double-sided gem.

Review: Pawsa has a reputation for delivering perfect party-starting music, often via funky, sub-heavy takes on tech-house. Who better, then, to remix The Adventires of Stevie V's infectious 1989 anthem 'Dirty Cash' - arguably, Jungle Brothers' 'I'll House You' aside, the most famous hip-house record of all time. Pawsa's 'Extended Mix' (side A) retains the warehouse-ready vibe of the original, placing the vocals, stabs and some wiggly new acid lines atop a squelchy TB-303 bassline and pumping house beats. Over on the B-side there's another chance to savour David Morales' 'Sold Out' mix, a slower, deeper, dreamier and lightly breakbeat driven interpretation that naturally earned plenty of plays when it was first released way back in 1990.

Review: DJ Bagdhad debuts on Boyanza Records with some straight up dancefloor fire. The excellent 'Get Paid' has jacked up 808 beats run through with raw percussion and a sleazy ghetto edge. Some rapid-fire vocals add further attitude to this sure fire weapon. After the Acid Dub comes Gome's interpretation which brings a more elegant touch and plenty of deep house drums with slowed down vocals and fresh bass. Last of all is Hype Club edit from DJ Bagdhad that layers in some epic piano stabs.

Review: Aiming squarely for the charts once again come German and American minimal maestros Adam Port and Stryv, together joining forces with the irresistibly tremolo'ing voice of singer Malachiii. Few songs in the contemporary climate do so well as those which blow up on social media, and 'Move' is one such case. The present zeitgeist's mode of "hip ennui" is achieved with great celerity here, with the track's instrumental weaving an excessive yet insouciant trance around Malachiii's neon croons. Impressively echoic, it's the fusion of minimal techno and contemporary Afrobeats - both fervently identifiable styles - that make this one catchy.

Review: French house tastemakers Robsoul return with four outstanding house tracks on vinyl by two talented Australian DJs. This collection features the most sought-after cuts from the three Secret Weapons projects which were originally available only digitally. Additionally, the release includes one exclusive, previously unreleased track, all of which bring these Australian DJs to a broader audience. 'When It Comes To Love' is a punchy one with sustained pads and classic sax, 'Let Me See You Work' is a nice loopy and lo-fi groove and 'Zone' and 'Movin' Up' close out with heady pads and feel-good vibes.

Review: Melbourne's rising star Pretty Girl is infusing the UK alternative scene with fresh energy following her recent move to London. The producer, singer-songwriter, and DJ has already made waves in Australia and her new EP Get Back To Me is set to introduce her unique sound to British audiences. Blending electronic elements with catchy pop balladry, it offers both sonic and thematic depth and shows her growth as an artist and individual. It has themes of self-development and transformation alongside plenty of cuddly depths and smoky house grooves. A fine record indeed.

Review: This was the debut single from Italian dance crew Prezioso & Marvin back in April 1999. It soon made waves as an international hit that bothered the top ten of charts around the world. It has all the hallmarks of a Euro dance classic of that time - the happy drums and trance chords, the camp vocals and a sense of optimism that defined the dawning of a new millennium, as well as some hella catchy pop hooks. This white vinyl reissue offers up various different versions for some retro fun.

Review: Is it just us or has the quality of Record Store Day releases really levelled up in recent times? No longer do we just get unwanted new formats of the tired old classics. Instead we get genuine treasures reappearing, vital reissues popping up and interesting remixes like the one. It finds global tech house titans Solardo adding their own spin to Patrick Prins' seminal 'Le Voie Le Soleil' n the occasion of its 39th anniversary. It's full of mad pianos, euphoric drums and feel good energy that is perfect for festival season. A Pat Re-flex on the flip seals the deal.

Review: Honey Boy is a superb new single by the one and only Purple Disco Machine alongside the super star bass player and Chic band member Nile Rogers as well as Shenseea and Benjamin Ingrosso. With all these talents on one tune you know it is going to be a big one full of rich bass and killer hooks and so it proves, with funky beats, lithe bass playing and dazzling disco pads that are all topped with an irresistibly sunny vocal.

Happily, 'Heartbreaker' is tons of fun, providing a perfect fusion of Purple Disco Machine's throbbing, cheery and uplifting take on nu-disco and the authentic synths, talkbox flourishes and eyes-closed vocals that have always marked out Chromeo's work. The A-side extended mix is particularly potent, but we're also massive fans of the alternate instrumental take, in which the uniqueness of the fusiuon - Moroder-ish bass, elongated mid-80s soft rock synth solos and glossy FM synth stabs - comes to the fore. To quote Alan Partridge, it's a copper-bottomed hit!

Review: Luv Shack's compilation style 'Disco Biscuits' series is the very definition of reliable, with each new EP delivering killer cuts aimed at the more cosmic end of nu-diusco dancefloors. Volume five in the series arrives with four more tried-and-tested workouts and little in the way of forgettable filler. Check first Rising Seed's 'Back For More', a driving slab of spacey dub disco/cosmic disco fusion in which intergalactic electronics and samples sitars ride a Prins Thomas-esque bassline and beats, before admiring the chugging and squelchy nu-disco shuffle of 'Suffering of K.P' by B.Visible. Over on the flip, Peletronic's 'Drifting' is a glassy-eyed slab of immersive deep house/nu-disco fusion, while Jon Gravy's 'When U Leave' is a stomping slab of peak-time house headiness rich in bustling beats, memorable melodies and hands-aloft riffs.
