Other Side Of The Sky
Other Side Of The Sky (12" limited to 300 copies)
Cat: TEMPA 105. Rel: 15 Mar 16
Other Side Of The Sky (7:26)
Other Side Of The Sky (Appleblim remix) (6:17)
Review: Fresh from his excellent ebm-influenced debut album, UK producer Julian 'October' Smith October looks to a more reflective approach. Working with his long-term collaborator and fellow Bristolian Appleblim, he lays down an lurching, acid-soaked bass and jittery drums on "Other Side of the Sky". These elements complement the melodic chord sequence that flutter their way through the arrangement. On the flip side, Appleblim delivers a remix; retaining the mellow chords but replacing the backing with a stepping, dub-wise rhythm, it makes for a gloriously blissed out take on the dance floor-based original version.

Modeselektor Presents Modeselektion Vol 3 #2
Alex Banks - "Be The One" (feat Elizabeth Bernolz)
Onra - "Blast"
Henrik Schwarz - "We Are Bankrupt"
Brandt Bauer Frick - "Jungle Love" (feat Vic Mensa & Om'mas Keith)
Review: As the title suggests, this sampler is the second 12" shaped accompaniment to Modeselektion 3, perhaps the most diverse compilation yet from the Monkeytown stable. Indeed the four artists featured here are testament to that with Monkeytown newbie Alex Banks lining up with veteran German artist Henrik Schwarz, multi instrumentalist troupe Brandt Brauer Frick and the always excellent Onra. If you are unfamiliar with Banks work, this sampler is a great introduction with his opener "Be The One" a potent synth fest that is worthy of Moderat. The tempo switches up in fine style for Onra's slack jawed future boogie fest "Blast" whilst the flip sees Schwarz indulge his poppier tendencies with "We Are Bankrupt" and Brandt Brauer Frick team up with Vic Mensa & Om'mas Keith for the excellent "Jungle Love".

Andrae Durden - "Estoa" (4:50)
Review: This is a four-track sampler taken from parts one and two of the One Hundred and Fifty Steps VEP series which is all about exploring the rise of 150 bpm dubstep, a sound that characterised by fast basslines, broken rhythms and heavy halftime pulses. From VEP pt. 1, L.A.'s Carre delivers pacey wobblers and then Berlin's Formella debuts with playful breaks and more wobbly bass on 'Dripstep'. VEP pt. 2 features Leipzig's Old Man Crane with their intricate, syncopated style shinning through on 'Grey' and Valencia's Andrae Durden then shows class with a Kryptic Minds-inspired low-end powerhouse.

Ruff Sqwad - "Xtra44" (OH91 remix)
Footsie - "Prangboy" (Chemist remix)
Review: In the game since 2012, South London label Coyote Records have only just dropped a crucial second edition of their Coyote Kings compilation, but keep up the heat with the first release on their new Coyote White offshoot. Label regulars Chemist and OH91 both feature, taking a side each to show off their refix skills on a 12" that upholds the White Label tradition good and proper. Chemist reworks Footsie's "Prangboy" and transforms it into a grime mutation of the highest order, it's all about those sucker punch percussive hits! Complementing this, "Xtra" by Ruff Sqwad gets turned into a twilight prowler by OH91 which feels mercilessly short at 4 minutes.

Chesus & Organ Grinder - "Audioporn"
Organ Grinder - "Ampulate"
Review: Addison Groove producer Tony Williams adds label owner to his bustling CV with the launch of the Lost In Translation imprint which was apparently named in honour of his favourite cinematic opening scene. The label is inaugurated in limited, hand stamped vinyl fashion with a two track release from South Wales producer Chesus (part of the CRST clique) and the somewhat elusive Organ Grinder who slipped out a tasty twelve on Catapult last year. "Audioporn" lives up its name with a rather raunchy pitch shifted vocal sample doing the nasty with a guttural bassline and worm like acid lines, whilst "Ampulate" deftly swings between uplifting classicist house chord refrains and rowdy vocal led bass vibes.

Let's Hook Up (Luke Vibert remix) (4:47)
Review: Rewind to 2013, Deft hurls us into a sea of feels with Om'Mas Keith as "Let's Hook Up" soothes with 23rd century soul. Trappy, R&B, cracked digital ice, it still sounds like nothing else. As do these limited remixes: longstanding left-side techno experimenter Neil Landstrumm taps into his innermost cosmic ghetto-tech psyche while Vibert goes back to papa-punching Plug jungle roots. Both add new dimensions to a modern day classic. Grab them while you can.

Review: DJ Crisps is starting to make some handy garage moves after a couple of various artists' appearances and a fine EP on Time Is Now Germany in July. Now they link up with Oldboy who appeared on Burnski's other label Vivid back in 2022. As you should expect these are four hardcore and rudely garage cuts with plenty of swagger, naughty samples and bass-face potential. 'On My Way' is the standout with its shuffling one-two drum punch, distant police sirens and warped basslines underneath a timeless and irresistible female vocal full of soul. A summer scorcher for sure alongside three more very useful weapons.

Ames Henry - "Tribute" (6:28)
Fanu - "Dubia" (6:48)
Octo Octa - "For My Girls" (3:29)
Review: It's been two years since Kellam Matthews launched his retro-futurist, breakbeat-driven Frendzone label via a fine split EP featuring cuts from Ames Henry and Octo Octa. This follow-up is therefore arguably long overdue. Fittingly, it's Henry that gets things going in stellar fashion via Paul Kav collaboration "Business in Hasenheide", an urgent fusion of two-step drums, thrusting acid bass and jumpy synth stabs. Ames then goes solo on the breezy bounce of "Tribute", before Fanu successfully roughs things up via the mutant sub-bass, dystopian noises and distorted breakbeats of "Dubia". The undisputed highlight, though, is Octo Octa's "For My Girls", a wonderfully spooky and hectic jungle roller that's guaranteed to set pulses racing out on the dancefloor.

Om Unit's hometown of Bristol is said to have inspired the sound which take sin tech step, dub infused techno swaggering and 140bpm steppers that any warm blooded human couldn't possible ignore. Review: Charging into 2019 with a brand new single on his own brand label, O'Flynn takes full control with this mesmerising release. Across two sides he covers all the vibes you know him for; "TKOTN" is a rattling, rusty breakbeat roller laced with strong industrial textures and FX while "Siberian Goose Down" whips up a much more emotional sensation before it suddenly degrades into utter stomp primed techno chaos. Review: Having before now appeared solely on compilation releases and mixes, Brooklyn concern Obey City gets snapped up by LuckyMe for some fittingly plush, low-slung beat science. After the gentle intro tones of "Reflect Effect", the aptly-titled Champagne Sounds begins in earnest with the rollercoaster funk of "Quantum Phase". Bright daubs of synth meet with brisk drums, moods switch up erratically and the slap bass comes popping out of the speakers in earnest. "Tell Her" packs in equal amounts of melodic flexing atop live drum swagger, while "Uptown Pumps" gets more crafty with its use of vocal samples and spacious mixdown. At every turn this is a neat addition to the LuckyMe stable, building on the neon strut that has come before in fine style.

Syntax (6:15)
Review: Nervous Horizon return with a special collaborative project from Object Blue and label co-boss Tsvi. Both sitting in the no-genre / body music hinterland, across three tracks they merge both of their uncompromising styles to create a unique mutant sound. 'Thought Experiment' stutters and flares with a wrought tension that's gradually released over rolling, skittering kickdrums (and subverted to pummelling levels by Loraine James on her remix) 'Turing Machine' bridges jungle with techno over a sparse 130 breakbeat. 'Syntax' closes the show on the most forthright note of the set. Pounding kicks and lightning breakbeat strikes, this hits with the militancy both artists share.

Review: Berlin based producer Objekt returns to his self-titled 12" series for a third time, proudly sporting a oblique press release that wouldn't look out of place promoting a Power Vacuum record. There has been a gap of some two years since Objekt first emerged with those two highly prized Objekt 12"s that marked him out as a particularly distinctive talent within contemporary techno. After contributions to the Hessle canon and the short lived Bleep Green series, TJ Hertz deems the climate right for a third Objekt lesson with this 12" containing two full productions that fit neatly in the canon of "adventures in machine music built to make subs rattle and feet wiggle" together with five accompanying locked grooves.

Review: Since releasing the third volume in his white label 12" series back in 2013, Objekt (AKA Berlin-based Brit TJ Hertz) has become one of techno most in-demand talents. Here he returns to where it all began with volume four, in the process serving up a pair of certified late night treats. "Needle & Thread" sees him doff a cap to Paul Woolford's Special Request project, cannily combining typically Berlin-style techno elements - trippy noises, extended chords, weird effects, and so on - with punchy blasts of hardcore style breakbeats. The beats remain broken on UK Funky influenced flipside "Theme From Q", where vintage MK style melody motifs ride crunchy drums, fizzing electrofunk synth squiggles and mind-altering sub-bass.

Review: Having wowed the world with his first two records, Objekt's arrival on Hessle Audio is a logical and welcome move. The wobbling bassline of "Cactus", premiered on Ben UFO's Rinse:16 mix, recalls Mala's savage productions, tweaking the oscillators just enough to make the bass scream whilst keeping things tasteful, despite its crazed metamorphosis into a raygun at the halfway point. Flipside "Porcupine" meanwhile is militant techno with all the purity and focus of Jeff Mills' best productions, a maelstrom of pummelling beats and swimming chords with a diamond-like beauty despite its pneumatic ferocity. In a word: essential.

Review: Objekt reintroduces 'Ganzfeld' on his new Kapsela label, marking a decade since its release. The track, originally the B-side to 'Hypnagogia' on Leisure System in 2014, stood out in the electro/IDM landscape with its 147bpm tempo and blend of deep drum patterns and an energetic bass solo. Despite its unconventional speed, 'Ganzfeld' quickly gained recognition, including Resident Advisor's Track of the Year. Ten years on, Objekt's decision to reissue feels well-timed. The musical world has evolved, with genres shifting and new producers expanding on Objekt's work. This reissue presents 'Ganzfeld' to a new generation of listeners. It features remixes that extend the track's scope: Djrum offers a ten-minute multi-genre exploration, Piezo builds tension at 80bpm before doubling the tempo, and Ulla deconstructs the original into an ambient landscape. The reissue of 'Ganzfeld' affirms its ongoing relevance in electro and IDM. These remixes showcase the track's adaptability across different styles and eras. As Objekt launches Kapsela, 'Ganzfeld' serves as a link between his past work and future directions in electronic music.

Positive Merge - "Note"
Review: Since 2012 Power Vacuum has made a name for itself by releasing unrelenting rave and acid fuelled techno. After a strong second year of releases that included contributions from Mark Broom and EDMX, as well as several releases from label founder Milo Smee, the first Power Vacuum release of 2014 introduces five new artists on a split release. Although the highlight for many will be a rare track from Objekt, the angular shock and awe techno of "Balloons", the rest of the contributions are equally great. Turbo's latest recruits Joe Farr and J.Tijn team up for the steamroller that is "Mustard Sucker" while Ukrainian hard techno producer Positive Merge delivers the relentless gabber-esque stomp of "Note", but perhaps the most eye-catching inclusion is the new An-i project from Lee Douglas that recently debuted on Minimal Wave's sister label Cititrax, with the ex-TBD man delivering the scrambled frequencies of "Convo". Palmarosa
Review: As their slew of recent singles continues, October and Borai emerge on Applepips with yet more essential tackle for broadminded dancefloors. "I Didn't Mean To" finds itself in a compromising position between broken rhythmic trysts and technoid propulsion, all the while off set by achingly beautiful, twinkling pads. It's still a strong floor track, but in a truly hypnotic and uplifting way. "Palmarosa" meanwhile is honed for maximum body response, with a firm undercarriage and sassy saxophone flairs perfect for those feverish moments deep in the heat of the night. Either way you'll find it hard to prise this one out of your bag.

Review: Dubstep and garage pushers Hotflush make a surefooted return, welcoming Perth producer Odd Occasion to their roster with an al dente next-gen garage cookoff. This 'Jukebox' offers six choices to the discerning listener, though you'd be hard-pressed to find a pub owner who'll take them on in toto - unless the landlords happen to be real heads, that is! All's well that this is a machine with niche appeal, with its formal calculations and dark contusions tempting fans of all things bass-led. Though the record begins on a volatile yet minimal note, the A3 'Simple' takes a glassy dubstep turn, virtifying the mix with hollow sound design and a stealthy grime vocal sample. The B-side betrays a sacrifice of genre focus, with 'Salt' bringing brutal trade zone techno via experimental trap sound design, and 'Tape' progressing through tender zithers, which help uptick the mix to reach a snappy folktronic finish.

The South African producer now based in London presents a series of sublime steppers featuring the gorgeous vocals of Manthe Ribane. "Dear Ribane" starts things off smoothly with its minimal arrangement but the 2-step garage influence on "Sizzr" gets on the more energetic vibe. "Glonet" ends things on a darker tip, but that rolling groove that he has a sense for gets stuck in again at justthe right spot.

The rich diversity and range is instantly distinctive as "Teleported" bangs with ping-pong bass tech funk while "B U" soothes the soul with startling futuristic soul. Leaning heavily on the retro electro template both the title track and "Prawn Cocktail" delight with their rough simplicity, perhaps proving the mantra that less is more. Tough rhythms and infectious analogue melodies combine perfectly - though it's perhaps the overtly dramatic stabs that permeate throughout "The Timps" which prove most effective. Facilitated by new concern Bunit, the Transatlantic EP finds the pair aligning on a similarly sweet creative groove as that Exit release, taking their sound down different avenues with a heavyweight approach to beat science the constant. If you have seen either DJ recently you will probably be familiar with the blinding halfstepper that is the title cut, and it's blessed by a further three productions that go to both light and dark places. "Onionz" veers off into break laden rufige territory, whilst "Fullbones" finds the duo easing down the tempo, and the slower pace highlights their supreme percussion and beat programming.

"Small Victories" still breathes with the same blissed out sweetness but there's a darker substance in the beefy underbelly. "Gamma", meanwhile, is 100 per cent unruly; steppy, tripletty and saturated in deep, immersive drone-bass, it's an instant rabble-rouser. Review: Dusky's label 17 Steps follow-up the excellent "New Atlantis EP" from Chrissy with a fresh drop from mysterious outfit One One One. It's a slippery offering that exists in that grey area between techno and soundsystem music, veering from the bassweight 4/4 mood of "Pipeline" to the blunted electro machinations of "Squeak". "Jolt" takes things in a rowdy direction with the kind of buzzing mid-range synth nastiness you'd expect from a Vitalic or Alter Ego record circa 2005. Things get more discernibly acidic with EP closer "Bewusst", which also features some modulating synth lines you could almost expect to hear on a Marc Houle record. Sex Sells (My Nu Leng)
Review: The Spam Chop EP on Mimm Recordings was an early 2012 highlight in the Juno office and the Nottingham based label returns with more genre defying material, this time from Bristolian producer Ooko. No stranger to Mimm, having contributed a track to the label's free compilation from last year, Ooko truly delivers on his cheekily titled full debut Sex Sells. Lead track "Downtown" sets the tone, chopping recycled jungle breaks up to fit a pitched down rhythmic swing that is ever present whilst the titular vocal loop and pressurised bass shift back and forth in stereo focus. On the flip the title track comes across as a more viscous slant on the current house vogue in Bristol, with the low end seemingly so thick it's stopping the drums from attaining their groove. Watch out for the fizzing synth line which belatedly arrives to crank up the heat, whilst fellow Bristolians My Nu Leng do a splendid job in shifting the track into broken techno territory. Don't know what you call it but this is good!

Whether he's referencing the car mag, or just Homer Simpson's one-time alias, "Max Power" is a slinky, soca-rhythmed beast, with a snake-like descending riff that grows in intensity and octave-range while crisp snares punch through. "Crash Riddim" leans toward the old-school with some nicely resurrected drum sounds and a proggy motif running throughout, while "Lilly" is kept downtempo via some spacey pads and dubby bass. Forward thinking and full of surprises, this is a true gem yet again from Planet Mu.

This sort of ravenous creative mentality has earned Opus a debut release on White Peach Records, as well as a subsequent release on Encrypted Audio. Bridging the gap wonderfully between dubstep and grime on the darkside wobble of "Sharpie", the eerie "Peel follows featuring pounding beats and immersive/textural sound design. On the flip, delve deep into the exotic on "Newspeak" where its Middle Eastern instrumentation meges with fierce breakbeats.

Review: Currently causing underground havoc with one of Liverpool's infamous Meine Nacht parties promoter and DJ OR:LA makes her Hotflush debut with four widescreen visions. A broad range is showcased: "UK Lonely" bumps with a jazzy UKG echo that's similar to that of a darker Roy Davis Junior, "Limbosoup" is much more of an upbeat peaktime techno playtime tune with a driven groove but stern sense of insistency. "X&O" is a slower, roomier broken affair that wouldn't go amiss on Heartdrive while "Jaipur" closes with intimate computer chatter and mystic eastern flurries. The nacht is but young...

Wet Look
Review: It's almost five years since the immense Hyph Mngo announced the talents of Joy Orbison to the world and a lot has changed in this time - not least the musical direction of Scuba's Hotflush label. One of several early Hotflush releases that have been granted a timely repress, the first thing that hits you listening back to "Hyph Mngo" is 'did it ever get revealed how to pronounce it?' We jest, actually it's amazing how powerful a production it still is, and arguably one of the tracks that helped bring about the shift from traditional dubstep to what many now refer to as UK BASS. B Side "Wet Look" can still cause a bit of dancefloor commotion too, you know! A must for those that never got this 12" first time round.

Ladywell
Review: Almost a year to the day after Joy Orbison launched Doldrums with a 12 inch including the impressive "J.Doe" and "BRKLN CLLN" the label returns with the first of two releases in the space of a week. The nascent scene fluttering out of London airwaves and bass bins has changed exponentially since Joy Orbison first burst with emotive intent onto the scene via "Hyph Mngo" on Hot Flush last year, and that transformation is aptly demonstrated on the two tracks from Joy Orbison here. Both "BB" and "Ladywell" are boldly and resolutely house music in style and execution, but perhaps this is the right move for Orbison to make in light of the hypnagogic and joystep niche genres made up after Ray Keith's nephew's rise to prominence. Whilst the Yoruba style percussion and cavernous Detroit rhythmic thrust of "BB" impress it's the emotive energy conjured by the fragile vocal strains of "Ladywell" that leave the lasting impression. Top release.

Review: Joy to the world! Two proper heads-down 4x4 bass cuts right here from Mr Orbison as he goes back to his UKG roots in a modern and menacing way. 'Flight FM' is pure overdrive with its pulsing low end and nagging sense of technoid intensity. 'Shiloh's Revenge' eases up the pressure a little but there's still a bite to the groove thanks to the offkey bass and the somewhat mournful or distant textures to the vocals. High grade club music.

Review: Minimal murkery wrapped up in untitled mystery, 'A/B' sees French experimentalist Orree lay down two beguiling pieces of stripped-back bass brutalism. 'A' hits like a twisted instrumental grime cut that's been through the washing machine too many times. Rippled, clean and totally out of shape. 'B' has also been through the same process but then also marinated in high levels of diesel for a sleazier, oily and intoxicating experience. Limited so don't sleep.

12:09 (6:54)
Review: As a DJ, promoter and producer, Version boss Orson has been championing dubstep in Germany longer than almost anyone else (fact: he made his production debut way back in 2010!). These days he's an established figure internationally, releasing music that's every bit as good as that made by the sound's British pioneers. "Life Gamble", which opens his latest EP, is something of a peach. Built around a headline grabbing, digi-dub style bassline, the track is deep, dreamy and melodious, with ambient sound washes offering a neat contrast to his ricocheting dubstep beats and blazed audio textures. Flipside "12:09", meanwhile, is a far more straightforward proposition, with the German bass-head serving up an intoxicating dancefloor stepper rich in stabbing bass and echoing electronics.

Review: Version co-bossman Orson seems to only drop a release once a year. But when he does, it's always worth paying close attention to. As with all things Version, it's a full trip that joins dots well beyond the assumed or conventional dub continuum. "Agadir" is a hazy Latin mooch into dub disco territory while "Delivero" is positively Balearic with its 105BPM plod, delicate arpeggiated weaves and sudden drop into soulful vocals. Flip for "Toxic Waste" as Orson goes all percussive and broken beat (think Tyrant) while "Garzweiler" closes on an stormy ambient note. Batten down the hatches.

Review: We've been waiting a long time on this one. First spotted on Loefah's Rinse show well over a year ago, the deep spacious dyanmics and pensive flow of "Production House" owe more to authentic dub than any modern genre. So crisp, restrained and detailed with intricate flourishes and dynamics, it was tailor made for vinyl. "Fabrik" is more of a modern dance twist up with a stately tech 4/4 and some superbly manipulated bass textures. Minimalism is such a dark art to master... Orson definitely has the secret.

The Past Is A Dream (5:03)
Review: Hard Wax's resident dub and bass music expert is back on Version with the For The Head EP. Appearing on the A side, this track is a deep, roaring and experimental take on the dubstep sound that you've come to expect by now from this master producer, plus it packs a serious low end punch beneath all its delay drenched aesthetic. On the flip, we've got "The Past Is A Dream" a much darker and heaving affair with rolling bass and hissing rhythms that fight for space between a furious wall of reverberated white noise.

Review: Benny Ill lays down the version law on Version once again as he takes two spaced out contemporary dub cuts and gives them a completely fresh dancefloor coat of arms. First up is Orson's "Rise 6". The original is so spaced out it's enough to make the soberest of minds trip out but Benny has added a thick soundsystem bounce while retaining the aesthetic of the original. "Dread Drums" enjoys a similar refix but with more of a techno-like insistency as the samples and elements work in unison to create a great sense of momentum. Ill by name...

Review: After helping mint the first Wax Corner release in 2022, Osipenko Bus Stop is back with a whole 12" of revivalist garage that taps into the best qualities of the genre while equally doing its own thing. 'Be Louder' is a tightly wound workout which cuts between skippy 2-step and breakbeat drops with some weirdo synth twists and rave stab turns, making for a patchwork jam that slots into the current zeitgeist while stepping to one side of the pack. 'Clear Thoughts' favours classic organ chord samples chopped nice n' tight, powered by a bumping bit of 4x4 which will never do you wrong in the club.

A man who is involved in most of everything that's good in Bristol, Ossia has kept his production output to a bare minimum with that immense BEB 12" last year complemented by some low-key sonic experiments as DJ Oa$i$. Earlier this year they finally launched their own label, which aims to showcase new talent, and here deliver a superb mini-album that was initially intended to drop on the station's fifth birthday. There's much to enjoy, from the murky, dub-wise percussion-fest that is Ossia's 'Drum Tangle' and the break-neck, post-jungle insanity of 'Static Whip' by Katatonic Silencio, to the psychedelic ambience of Ployer Fower's 'Aguries of Innocence' and the gently melodious, sub-heavy shuffle of Cleyra's 'Twined'.

Heart Beating (dub)
Review: Wolf Music turn 25 and pull out something approaching a curveball in handing a label debut to Ossie. Known best for his work on Hyperdub, putting Ossie together with Wolf Music isn't an equation most people would make, but if you've caught the Londoner DJ you'll know he's super tight at mixing and plays plenty of classic house. Indeed it's nice to see Ossie back on the solo flex, having recently been focused on the Black Orange Juice project with vocalists Tilz and Paul Black. Perhaps that time spent working with others has given Ossie a new sense of confidence as the four tracks here are some of his best work so far. The title track shows off Ossie's innate knowledge of the skip and bounce that characterises UK garage whilst there's something almost '90s Armand Van Helden about the heavy disco influenced house of 12" highlight "Forever".

Review: It's been over a yeah since Ossie's last solo record, and he returns here in fine form on 2020 Vision. The first two tracks see him bring his group Black Orange Juice for two vocal cuts, "Supercali" which riffs on Mary Poppins (it's actually quite good, trust us) wrapping up UKF and African pop into one tidy package, and "Lovecrazy", which combines Andres style string sampling with a deep percussive workout. On the flip, "Housedabass" combines layers of neon stabs over deep pads, taking the standard club template and riffing over it with joyful abandon. Not much has changed in a year, but that's just how we like it - highly recommended.

Review:  Thom Yorke debuts his supergroup project with Flea and Nigel Gidrch (among others) with this slippery single for his favourite German techno fiends, Modeselektor. Interestingly, one side of this record is given over to a remix of an Other Lives track, which finds the Atoms in a skippy, reduced techno furrow which sees pops and clicks swinging around while the vocals and plaintive notes hover in the background. The flip contains "Other Side" in remix form, which is supposedly one of Atoms' own tracks yet to be released. The warm analogue bass arpeggio certainly draws you in, and proves to be the embodiment of the track as it contorts and distorts along the way.

Review: Picking up the gauntlet from their inaugural release by Bodyjack & Special Request, the second release on the Dext Limited series comes from one of their staple artists: Bristolian producer Otik. He has had previous releases on the likes of Brotherhood Sound System, Tessier-Ashpool and Durkle Disco. It is a rowdy concoction of breaks and smack-to-the-jaw bass. Dead Man's Chest gives it a jungle touch on the Cosmic Grime remix . Alex Eveson (Ingredients/Western Lore) delivers another storming and breakneck rendition under the alias, with twitchy breakbeats, thick waves of bass and dark atmospherics. Essential stuff for all bass heads!
