Review: Since the first two 7" releases of J Rawl's The Liquid Crystal Project "Tribute To Dilla" & "Tribute To Troy" are out in the world, we are proud to announce the first 12" ready to follow up the success of the Spread The Message series on turntable jazz. This single is a real rap/hiphop release produced by the cologne based DJ & Producer DJ Adlib from the ITF Vice World DJ Champs Noisy Stylus featuring the almighty Med (aka Medaphoar) from the infamous Stones Throw camp from Oxnard, California. Adlib is one of the few DJs touring & supporting Ben on his mission throughout Europe. After releasing his first EP on Danny Breaks Alphabet Zoo label, we're happy to contribute to Adlib's rising. He produced the beat and Med spit his heat over that bouncing instrumental. Med released his debut LP "Push Comes To Shove" last year and it features productions from his fellows Madlib, J Dilla, Just Blaze & Oh No. Med is known for his straight but relaxed style and his flow is already known by many cats in the game. His verses are featured as well by the likes of J Dilla on his new album "The Shining" and "Exile" on his LP - just to name some other recent collaborations with rap goal getters. "Spread The Message" is the lead 12" single to the upcoming CD/LP compilation out on TTJ early 2007. For the flipside Adlib remixed the track and gave it a complete new outfit. Different vibe & beat but same rhymes make this version a real remix. So choose your favourite or play both, that's what we reckon anyway! As a bonus, Adlib gave the world another beat to taste his style.

Produced entirely by the Beat Konducta himself - the vibe-provider for classic albums for the likes of MF Doom, Freddie Gibbs, Black Star and more - the 14-track single LP boasts Lib's hallmark crackling soul and funk loops in their isolated form. The special edition instrumental has been remastered, equipped with two new bonus instrumentals, and boasts an eyecatching overhaul designed by Jeff Jank of the original album artwork adapted from Eugene Thurston and Arthur Hawkins' illustration for the 1930 mystery novel, The Invisible Host. First releases as an instrumental companion piece to their acclaimed Bad Neighbours LP (which had vocals on it), we here get to hear their smooth, sample-based, wonky instrumentals in finer-tuned detail. It has also been remastered for the occasion and it includes two new bonus instrumentals all pressed up on 180 gram vinyl. The original dropped back in 2015 with guest appearances from the likes of MF Doom, Aloe Blacc, Mayer Hawthorne, Jimetta Rose, Dam-Funk, and Oh No and was met with universal acclaim for its hazy, blunted late night moods. It's another classic for beat collectors.
