3D & Robert Owens - "Known Love" (7:51)
Olivier Giacomotto & Quivver - "Snailblazer" (6:40)
Dave Seaman & Hernan Cattaneo - "Napkin Knowledge" (7:28)
Argia & Jepe - "Salitre" (7:38)
Review: In celebration of their tenth birthday, Selador marks the occasion in style with a four-track collaborative EP, featuring tracks from 3D, Robert Owens, Olivier Giacomotto, Quivver, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Argia, and Jepe. The opening track, 'Known Love', is a deep, pulasting house tune that feels like an instant classic, perhaps thanks to the soulful, pop-tinged vocals - think LCD soundsystem meets Four Tet. 'Snailblazer', the second track on the EP, takes a much darker turn, with a chugging, EBM-esque feel. Full-bodied and complete with obscured vocals, this is the kind of track to pull out your bag when it's time to really get stuck in. On the B-side, 'Napkin Knowledge' draws on the glistening synths of eurodance, yet still securing the melodies to a grounded bassline and rhythm section. 'Salitre' is the perfect closing track, rising up in a gleaming, ecstatic melody, before delicately returning to ground level. A varied yet firmly cohesive collaborative release - the perfect way for Selador to kick off their 2023 catalogue.

Review: Armed with analogue and modular synthesisers, Southern Italian producers Marco Cassanelli and Deckard take you on an emotive journey inspired by geometry and symmetry for T.A. Rock Records - a small indie label out of sunny Trani, Puglia established 2010. The Splitted EP starts out with the desolate dub techno textures of 'Abandoned Town' while the spaced-out cut 'Triangle' and the hypnotising 'Rectangle' (part 1) make for more experimentally minded tracks.

Nu Bass (Sweely remix) (6:10)
Nu Bass (DJ Deep remix) (6:16)
Money, Honey, Monday? (Hostom remix) (5:24)
Review: The Paris-based producer pulls in a tight circle of remixers, each putting a distinct spin on a few of his recent tracks for his own Bass Culture label. Darren Roach's remix of 'Money, Honey, Monday' stretches the original into a spacey, progressive journey. The atmosphere is thick with delay and synth haze, but it still hits with the steady pulse of a house record built for peak time. Sweely steps in on 'Nu Bass' with a funkier approach. It's playful and full of bounce, guided by a deep bassline and flecks of disco that make it hard not to move. Melodic without getting sugary, it's a proper mood lifter. Side-B leans into the deeper end. DJ Deep's version of 'Nu Bass' goes darker and more hypnotic. It's tracky, minimal and slick, perfect for long, late-night times where you want to lose yourself. Hostom wraps it up with another take on 'Money, Honey, Monday'. This one built around a rolling bassline and polished production that gives it a bit of a restrained punch. A solid pack with plenty of replay value.

Review: Gothenburg Electro City 3 is a third episode in this superb new various artists series. Stilleben label head Luke Eargoggle says that three generations of Scandinavian electro sounds feature on the six track record. It comes from producers based only in Gothenburg which is the capital of electro in Sweden as well as being the capital of the Vastra Gotaland county. From the high energy and hard-hitting electro-funk of Dataintrang's opener to Guttan's more cinematic but no less caustic 'Bambakaos', all shades are explored here with compelling results.

The Strongest Love (6:02)
Review: The correctly titled Pressure EP from DC Salas is sure to amp up the energy levels whenever it gets deployed. These are sizzling tech house and minimal tracks that got right to the heart of the strobe-lit action. 'Light In The Distance' opens up with big, frazzled bass stabs and crispy drum breaks, then 'A Second Home' is a fat and bouncy one with train track like grooves embellished with panning synth madness. The title cut is a turbocharged and raved up house slammer and 'The Strongest Love' is a head wrecker with progressive synths darting all about the mix.

Gbigga - "Retro Acid" (4:27)
Avenir - "We Are Older Humans" (9:02)
Review: Obliq Records presents its second release, a sonic journey crafted by four talented Italian artists. Desai's 'Low Noise' sets the tone, its hypnotic groove and subtle textures drawing the listener into a world of understated beauty. Leo Benassi's 'Distorted Reflection' adds a touch of psychedelic flair, its swirling melodies and warped soundscapes creating a sense of otherworldly intrigue. Gbigga's 'Retro Acid' injects a dose of old-school rave energy, its pulsating rhythms and squelchy acid lines guaranteed to get bodies moving. Avenir's 'We Are Holder Humans' closes the EP with a contemplative atmosphere, exploring deeper, more introspective soundscapes. Together, these four tracks create a great listening experience that showcases the diverse and vibrant landscape of Italy's electronic music scene.

Complicated Soundz (6:03)
I Was, I Am (6:26)
Planet Synth (5:59)
Dexter's Laboratory (5:59)
Review: Komplices' second release comes from Italian artist Deyayu, who crafts a full-fat minimal EP that comes after a number of notable outings on the likes of Jooice. This one opens with 'Complicated Sound,' a track that channels 90s acid house through psychedelic vocal loops while the second track, 'I Was, I Am,' delves into the deeper influences of the 2000s. On the flip side, 'Planet Synth' offers some psyched-out 90s referencing sounds with crispy drum programming and warped vocals. Last of all is 'Dexter's Laboratory' which completes the EP with a cosmic journey of sparkling sounds that skilfully merge nostalgia and innovation.

Review: Robert Dietz continues to impress with his latest EP, Rejuve-Nation, demonstrating his versatility and skill as a producer and DJ. The standout track, 'Crane Song,' explores proggy house territory with a sophisticated touch, offering two distinct mixes that captivate the listener with their intelligent arrangements. 'Deranged Self Therapy' takes a different turn, blending IDM with new wave drums and poignant synths, resulting in an excellent composition perfect for lovesick robots. 'Centro Di Gravita' builds upon the qualities of 'Crane Song' while infusing it with an acid lines to push boundaries and experiment with different sounds. Closing the EP, 'Any Plan(t)s This Weekend' provides a soothing ambient experience, like a confident sketch for the end of a beautiful summer. Rejuve-Nation offers a bouquet of bangers catering to various musical preferences.

Review: Lemaia's latest introduces rising Italian artist Alex Dima for four fresh tracks of futuristic tech house. There is a cinematic element to the crispy metallic drums and evocative pads of 'Running Against Time' while 'Love Perspective' has pensive pads melting away behind snappy drum work and gloopy bass. The precision-designed drums of 'What About The Future' and the fizzy synths that buzz about the mix make it another fresh sound while 'Mass Destruction' shuts down with a more looming sense of doom. It comes from the shadowy bassline that snakes away beneath more snappy hi-hats and a prying lead synth that takes you into the unknown.

Review: Dimmish is one of those names making himself ever more a part of the tech house firmament and he deserves the acclaim as this new EP on Easternderz proves. It is high grade tackle with several different stylistic nuances. 'Orbit' is a warm pumper with funky bass rotations and well designed drums under balmy pads. 'Lemon Life' ups thence with more high speed, high power but always funky grooves and lithe synths, and 'Singularity' rides on a wave of subtle melody that takes you ever higher. The closer 'Dissolve' with its more colourful and playful melodies might be the best of a great lot.

Unwinding (4:39)
Found Out (6:08)
Review: TV Hill Records starts things off rough and curiosity-rousing, with a technical itch from OG AG (Andrew Grant) in collaboration with fellow producer Dimneonsum. A mid-paced deep techno calculator, 'What's Up Everybody' pares back any semblance of emotion for pure robotic urgency, with every sound moving in juddering clockwork lockstep in an abstracted world of pure, preservative mathematic topology. Opener 'San Fran' pits nervous FM loops against an equally anxious Shepard-tonal riser, while calmer moments such as the beatless 'Drakey' still disquiet with their eerie glassiness. One for the bleepy heads, the only humanistic element is the revelatory vocal sample on 'Found Out'.

Review: DJ Normal 4 infuses plenty of psyched-out colours, trance from the 90s and sleek deep techno rhythm in his work for this new one on Fantastic Planet. 'Eden Responding' kicks it off with singing synth lines over quick beats. 'Spore Clouds' is more deep and driving with less melodic playfulness and 'Green Mantra' brings some more twisted after-party energy. 'Liquid Desire' then slows things down with watery sound effects and hypnotic layers of sound designed to zone you out.

Sensitive (6:29)
Space Road (6:48)
Ladiescope (5:59)
Review: Arpanet is a new imprint focused on reissuing far-sighted club cuts and electronic curiosities from the dim and distant past, helmed by French veteran DJ Speep. Fittingly, the label's first release is a reissue of Speep's 2001 collaboration with friend Fab, Sensitive. The title track, which resides on side A, is a classic example of moody, turn-of-the-century tech-house, where metallic electronic motifs, foreboding chords and layered percussion rides a dark bassline and swinging, non-stop drums. 'Space Road' offers a more intergalactic, acid-flecked take on early morning, early noughties tech-house, while 'Ladiescope' is warm, tactile, rolling and quietly postive: dreamy tech-house for wannabe astronauts and sun worshippers of all ages.

Review: DMC and Luke XL bring a unique techno experience with the second release on Reheat, with DMC's 'Loseyamind,' featuring outer space sounds and otherworldly techno, blending sci-fi elements for a stunning auditory journey. Next up is 'Il Fait Froid Dehors,' a collaboration between DMC and Luke XL, characterised by its heavy acid sound and crunchy textures, seamlessly combined with well-produced drum beats. On Side 2, 'Pharmacy' by DMC and Luke XL offers a tight, deep bassline with vocoder effects, precise drum programming, and a heavy rhythm that drives a no-nonsense groove. Luke XL's 'Mr Nice Guy' rounds out the EP with an catchy groove, evoking Kraftwerk vibes and adding a touch of classic electro to the mix. Finona Rider - "The Impact" (6:49)
Review: High-octane experimental trance via freetek via hardcore from Hamburg collective Phantasia, with an absolutely flooring, walloping debut release. The fact that four different artists might each bring their own mood to the table and yet hear their respective sounds unified bespeaks the brilliant mastering job held down here: Dolomea's 'Augural' and Rupert Marnie's 'Elastic Thoughts' commit to a mutual sonic trustfall, one seeming to writhe about in rhythmically unpredictable fashion through pressure-cooked, rubber-ballistic acids, and the other rootling its 4x4 kick snout into floors down under. The B-side goes electro, culminating on the brilliant brainwash by Finona Rider, 'The Impact', a track haunted by the voice in its own head.

There is a heavy spaced out vibe to these tunes starting with 'Stargazer' (Highway Mix) which indeed feels like a cruise through the stars with bulbous bass and fat drums. 'Wired Nag' is just as much of an intergalactic journey with neon synths leaving wispy tails in their wave over rubbery and pumping drums. 'The Deep Cosmo' is more heads down and pensive then 'Curved Space' layers up some celestial melodies.

Review: If new talent is your thing, Shall Not Fade has long been a label to watch. While the Bristol-based imprint does sign material from established artists, it consistently promotes music from new or early career producers too. Daughters of Frank, a pair of sisters from London, are the latest rising stars to make their bow on the label. Their debut EP is genuinely impressive, too, delivering a mix of hallucinatory, spaced-out liquid drum and bass ('A Club Serenade'), stripped-back and fiendishly sub-heavy workouts seemingly informed by the skeletal construction and dub-wise weight of bleep techno (EP highlight 'Tracksuit'), giddily saucer-eyed, early morning anthems-in-waiting (the sunrise special that is 'Velvet'), and deep, spaced-out two-step garage (the heady and intoxicating 'Lust 2 Luv').

Review: Inspired by "cosmic vibes and alien sounds", Cut Line Records is a freshly minted imprint founded by New York-based producers Majak and Diego Knows. Wisely, they've decided to set their stall out via a multi-artist EP that offers more than a few hints about what we can expect to hear in the months and years ahead. Naturally, they contribute, rounding off the EP via the collaborative 'Electrik Funk', a smooth, spacey and sub-heavy slab of tech-house funk marked out by cut-up vocal snippets, intergalactic-sounding motifs and rubbery beats. There's plenty to set the pulse racing across the rest of the EP though, from the acid-flecked tech-house funkiness of Pedro Goya's 'Celeste', to the star-fall haziness of Digital Pimps electro roller 'Warning Bells', via the electro-goes-breakbeat shuffle of 'Alien Vision' by Frankula and St Xose.

Review: Electric Tools Vol 1 ignites with a four-track electro explosion, showcasing the talents of four very strong producers for one electric 12". Side-1 kicks off with the dynamic collaboration of Latent & Retrolog on 'Super Villain,' a fusion of electro and breakbeats adorned with captivating samples and a bassline that hits hard. Bok.p follows suit with 'Creator,' channeling early UK techno and bleep-styled vibes reminiscent of the golden era, evoking nostalgia akin to classics like 'Rhythm is a Dancer.' Flipping to Side-2, Lamalice presents 'AAS,' a melodic journey through early 90s techno, intertwining lush melodies with driving beats for a nostalgic yet forward-thinking experience. Closing the EP, Dixia Sirong's '23rd Step' offers a catchy blend of early 90s trance and techno, guaranteed to transport listeners to the heyday of electronic music. Review: A potent ongoing collaboration between two techno heads lands on a legendary label, delivering four cuts that span the spectrum of classic and contemporary dancefloor energy. Side-A kicks off with 'ClickClickClick', a tech house burner that lives up to its name as it is bouncy and rhythmically addictive. Its catchy loop play gives way to deeper, murkier textures midway through, maintaining its infectious swing while offering DJs a perfect mid-set curveball. Following it is 'Gearbox', a slick, electro-informed groover with a low-slung, funky bassline. It's high-energy yet controlled, laced with head-nodding bounce and shimmering detail that make it ideal for peak-time dancefloor action. On Side-B, 'Destination 909' is pure nostalgia with a modern polish, bringing in 90s techno grit, trancey atmospherics and a post-rave euphoria that's all tight kicks and laser-focused execution. The production is clean and sharp, but there's an intentional vintage flavor that pays tribute to the roots. Closing things out is 'Reach Out', a hypnotic, dub-leaning track infused with a raw vocal loop preaching unity and rave authenticity. It's spacious, meditative and subtly anthemic. The kind of track that creeps up on you in the best way. All in all, a cohesive, floor-ready EP.

G Punx shuts down with the gritted-teeth grooves and slamming bass of 'Electro Baked' for menacing plays.

LIL NASSTY - "Get It Up So" (3:02)
DJ Pacifier - "Fried Again" (4:12)
Review: Riviera's early momentum continues here with a punchy four-tracker from six on-point artists. Lewis Taylor kicks off with 'Non Stop' which is a straight up and funky peak time then pumper with bright chords and plenty of fun in the atmosphere, Cult keeps the energy high with 'Total Kill' and X Coast & DJ RaDa then offer the acid-laced and turbocharged bass stomps of 'Come Together.' LIL NASSTY then flips the script with some sleazy trap beats with menacing bars and futuristic synth patterns on 'Get It Up So' and DJ Pacifier shuts down with some high-speed ghetto-tech in the form of the relentless 'Fried Again.'

Review: To mark 15 years since its original release, DJ Hell's landmark Teufelswerk long player returns as a very collectable limited edition triple vinyl set that also includes a poster of the original cover and a special hype sticker. When it was released in 2009, Teufelswerk made an immediate impact and over time has remained a pivotal work thanks to its brash and inventive collision of techno, ambient and experimental sounds. It features collaborations with artists like Bryan Ferry and explores the contrast between Day and Night so looks to, and does, balance euphoric dancefloor highs with immersive, cinematic atmospheres that make a longer-lasting impression. It's proven to be a timeless, genre-defying classic.

Review: A sprawling, typically irreverent effort from the ever-prolific DMX Krew. With each unfolding track, Edward Upton charts a new tributary in the Detroit-Berlin-Sheffield pipeline, from the grouchy technoid stomp of 'Bathtime Bobby', to the hazy chillout room introspection of 'Escape To 92', to the dazzled machine funk of aptly named elektro quest 'Desperate Measures'. Another thoroughly satisfying entry in the ever-growing DMX catalogue, Spiral Dance is a sizzling hotplate of timeless electro wizardry.
