Review: Norwegian jazzman Bugge Wesseltoft is no stranger to cross-genre collaboration, with a long history of working with electronic musicians from Oslo and beyond. Here, he renews his occasional partnership with German producer Henrik Schwartz, which was last heard on 2012's excellent Duo LP. With the addition of Dan Berglund on double bass, Trialogue is arguably even more expansive, evocative and spellbinding set than its' predecessor. While there are nods to jazz-funk, chamber music and woozy ambience, for the most part the trio stick to variants on slow, immersive jazz, with Wesseltoft's superb piano playing complimenting Schwartz's subtle electronics and Berglund's warm, hazy bass.
