ASC - "The Noncolour Entity"
Vaccine - "Irradiate"
Sam KDC - "Lovesick"
ASC & Synth Sense - "Glimpse"
Review: Limited to a pressing of just 250 (with a promise of no represses) this clear vinyl release is special in every sense. Powered by some of the most exciting names on the fringes of bass and electronica; each of the four cuts strut with raw melodic futurism. "The Noncolour Entity" rumbles with a dubby techno groove a la Funk D'Void. "Irradiate" comes with an almost Bonobo-like dreaminess while "Lovesick" shakes and shudders with a sub-soaked groove and bright, bold swinging breakbeats. "Glimpse" closes the show on a timeless analogue note. Coming on strong like an old Guy Called Gerald record, it's all synths and classic electro breakbeats. Outstanding.

Review: Grenoble's Binary Digit (Dream Ticket/Opal Tapes) appears on a split EP here with Belgian debutant Victor Ziegler, to inaugurate new imprint Postal Code Records on From Berriat To Pitteurs (PCR001). On the A side, Binary Digit is in fine form on the wacky acid-jungle hybrid of '4020 Pitteurs FM' followed by the lo-fi chiptune electro of 'Ob_Break'. On the flip, Ziegler takes the rolling breakbeats of the '90s UK underground and merges them with the aesthetic of dreamy electronica of the time - namely on Warp or Rephlex - with the glassy-eyed and bittersweet epic 'Nostalgic Aerobic' which was easily the standout tune on this stellar EP. Keep your eye on Postal Code Records in 2021.

Review: Finnish underground icon Sasu Ripatti returns under his most frequently used pseudonym, Vladislav Delay, for another bout of Dancefloor Classics. The series has already established a loyal following, and the fourth episode is enough to explain why, even if you've not encountered any of the preceding instalments. Music for imagined dancefloors is how the official release information puts it, it quickly becomes clear just how vivid that imagination is. Throwing down a string of footwork inspired cuts, the four tracks here are frantically upbeat and packed with filthy, jacking potential. But they're also deep, at times ghostly - or at least a little eerie - and ground in a desire not just to make people move, but also push sounds forward into new territories. Never an easy line to tread, the overall results hit as hard as the beats themselves.

Review: The Giegling label is no stranger to implementing conceptual ideas within the constructs of their output and Sudstadt EP, their 12th release, offers an intriguing central idea. Each of the four producers here - Giegling regulars Vril, Prince Of Denmark and Leafar Legov along with debutant Herr Koreander - grew up in Hannover and this 12" offers them a chance to portray their individual memories through the medium of music. Legov and Koreander commence and end the release in experimental fashion and sandwiched in-between is some of Giegling's most eminently danceable output yet from Vril and Prince Of Denmark.

Review: Gird yourselves; starting from this month and running through until December, Dutch institution Dekmantel are celebrating a decade in the game with a series of monthly 12"s featuring a seriously all-star cast from Tony Allen to Villalobos. It starts right here as legendary innovative composer Gigi Masin opens with the lilting, delicate "Maja", Vakula brings us down from the clouds and back to the future with the body-jacking ghetto bump of "Robot Fuck The System" while Flugel blows the finale horn with the swampy Amazonian harmonic trip-out "Mice On Stick". This is the start of something very special.

Review: Since launching six years ago, Bristol radio station Noods has become something of an online institution, with pleasingly experimental-minded shows from local music heads being joined by essential guest shows from up-and-coming DJs and producers from around the world. Earlier this year they finally launched their own label, which aims to showcase new talent, and here deliver a superb mini-album that was initially intended to drop on the station's fifth birthday. There's much to enjoy, from the murky, dub-wise percussion-fest that is Ossia's 'Drum Tangle' and the break-neck, post-jungle insanity of 'Static Whip' by Katatonic Silencio, to the psychedelic ambience of Ployer Fower's 'Aguries of Innocence' and the gently melodious, sub-heavy shuffle of Cleyra's 'Twined'.

'Rust' opens up with shimmering pads and half-heard voices, scattered drum sounds and immersive ambient that is like waking up from a dream. Review: Three years after making her debut on Sounds of Beaubien West with the deep and dreamy Agua Congas EP, Paula Tape returns with her first vinyl outing since. This time round she's in collaboration with Italo-disco/Italo-house revivalist - and Alzaya Records co-founder - Volantis. 'Octava Dimension' is pleasingly thrusting and druggy affair, with the Chilean's breathy vocals and an ear-catching lead line working in perfect unison with a tough, Italo-disco style bassline and jacking machine drums. Over on the flip, Elias Mazian re-imagines the track as a tactile, early '90s deep house treat, while Tornado Wallace lays down an even deeper, dreamier revision built around a lovely bassline, heady stabs and off-kilter, post-electro beats.

Review: Italian experimentalist Vaghe Stelle has been quietly forging his sound across EPs for Margot, Shabu and Opilec, but this graduation to Gang Of Ducks sees the producer's first physical release, in a plush silk-screen printed sleeve no less. The music contained within emerges in many different shades, from the emotional grind of "4th Hope" to the industrial blasts of "8th Hope", not to mention the dissected hardcore breaks and searching melodics of "10th Hope". The combinations are curious at every turn, and there's still space for remixes from Best Available Technology and GOD who turn out reduced dub-house abstractions and muffled techno respectively.

Review: The second release from No Comment, the mysterious Dutch techno imprint with a penchant for number-heavy track titles, and once again the equally mysterious Albert Van Abbe is at the helm. The menacing rhythmic throb of "NCS 0009121010" is complemented by some increasingly abrasive hats and needle sharp percussion - the way the track progresses and undulates before running its course is a joy to behold! The Heinrich Mueller remodel on the flip has a much less subtle affect; it carries a menacing swagger to the beat which bounds along beneath the highly strung synth work. This shares a side of wax with the ambient bliss of "P4S 1000291010". Essential business pressed up on stush marble vinyl.

Myriad different mods, grooves and tempos are on offer here starting with the puling rhythmic depths of Vardae's 'Pahlevan' then moving on to Kick21's 'Bright Interface', a dark and haunting low-end wobbler. Invasion (3:39)
Murder One (9:38)
Review: Suicide's Alan Vega was a truly visceral artist. Time and again he gave us mutated, spliced tracks, screwing mechanical futurism into familiarly human sounds to create hybrid noises that weren't born of our time, and instead sound like things that came before us, while also conjuring images of futures yet to arrive.

Invasion/Murder One follows in a similar vein, and lands in the wake of last year's Mutator. Again, this is Vega solo and plucked from the infamous archives of his previously unreleased and largely unheard stockpile of weird and wonderful music. The two tracks were both recorded in New York but decades apart, the most recent as part of a group of tracks that were laid down prior to sessions beginning for his 1999 album, 2007. If that's simply too many numbers, let's just say this is brooding, gritty, distorted but euphoric, empowering but tense experimental rock, with electronic effects.

Review: Relentlessly prolific Boris Bunnik brings his electro-focused Versalife alias to 20/20 Vision, a label which has been excelling at a renewed focus on the sounds of electro in recent years. The 808 beats are crisp and snapping, like they should in proper electro, but the synths shape out the atmosphere in brooding, dystopian strokes shot through with a certain mournful quality. It makes for engrossing, emotionally charged material perfect for the dancefloor as much as headphone reveries - just flip to the gorgeous "Aegis" and feel yourself drift away to somewhere mystical in the far reaches of the future.

Review: Originally hailing from The Isle of Wight but now based in West Norwood, South London, Vertical Cat has been releasing tunes since 2001 on imprints like Smallfish, Vice and his own rather wonderfully named Achingly Responsive, but now finds himself delivering seven varied creations for Chicago's Kimochi Sound to issue via the kind of hand-numbered, limited edition run that's sure to get trainspotters salivating like Pavlov's dogs. From the jazz-inflected phrasing, subtle phasing and jiggly sub-bass of 'Go Willy-nilly' to the Mills-esque thumpfunk of 'Oh You Mucky Bugger!', there's a bit of everything here, but every last moment is delivered with quality and clearly perceptible personality. You've also got to love outro track 'I'm Leaving', which soundtracks an awkward call to HR with some nicely cheeky, perky exotica.

Review: Recorded in Essaouira, Morocco, Pedro Vian and Maalem Nabob Soudani present an exercise in melding the traditional and unorthodox, the old and new, the abstract and the direct, the exotic and, well, something even more exotic. Rooted in the Gnawa sound, but leaning heavily into deep electronic worlds, EMS AKS Synthi and buchla meet the qrebeb and guimbiri, everything contrasting yet complementing. The result is this intoxicating brew that transports you to the North African coastline on which this collection was conceived and captured, and then onto somewhere that's almost beyond the terrestrial. Close your eyes, allow the hypnotic looped musical phrases and organic aesthetic of the recording itself to wash over you, through, and around your body. Something to truly get lost in and a fantastic example of cross-pollination done properly.

Review: Unwritten rules of the music industry #519: After the album comes the remix EP. At least in the case of a label such as Smalltown Supersound, they commission the sort of producers who are capable of actual innovation when it comes to a remix. Here cuts from Carmen Villain's album Sleeper are reworked by Messrs Peaking Lights, JD Twitch and Bjorn Torske with suitably psychedelic results. First up is the Peaking Lights take on "Dreamo" and Aaron Coyes stylistically stays close to the lo-fi digidub sound of his recent work, all shimmering delay, tropical melodies and cheap drum machine manipulation. On the B Side, Optimo don JD Twitch indulges his industrial side on a dark, electrifying rework of "How Much" that fits Carmen's vocal perfectly, whilst the Torsker (as no-one calls him) adds a touch of Scandolearic class with his take on "Obedience".

Secrets
Review: One of the spearheads of the vanguard of grime production in the modern age, Visionist knows a thing or two about crafting haunting soundscapes underlined by sub testing bass. This latest release pops up on Ramp and finds the producer on especially spooky form, not least on the title track. Synthesised vocal hums make up the lead melody in a move that comes on like "Moments In Love" for a disenfranchised 21st century, while the bass pulses out in a sparse mix that positively drips with restrained malicious intent. "Secrets" is a touch chirpier, letting a 4/4 kick nudge the track along while the synth lines add a more optimistic tone to the minimalist production ethic.

'Carpet Crawler' is a great name for a track that is all about bendy bass and warped, low lying synth lines that creep like snakes thorough the undergrowth. 'Luficer' then has a more hiccupping deep tech rhythm that is embellished with spooky and watery sound effects. 'Saffron' is another mind melting trip through bendy techno brilliance and last of all, 'Take My Hand' slows things down and strips things back to more expert atmospherics.

Following two excellent albums on Modularfield, she delivers this two-track release to The Vinyl Factory as a demonstration of where she has reached in her exploration of synthesis. 'Reminiscence' is a cascade of arps and pads with a haunting quality that nods to the Berlin School in its approach, while 'Murmuration' takes a more anthemic approach which folds Vogelsinger's voice into the mix with some striking leads that could almost soundtrack a crescendo of a track on Border Community with the drums stripped out.

Having built their career upon a reputation for incendiary live appearances and a heap of self-released tunes, Leicester's Volcano The Bear have slowly been gathering steam, becoming one of this country’s most exciting experimental improv outfits. This startling new 7" for No-Fi showcases the group at their most abstract. The A-side is a sinister brew of creaking violin and string plucks. It sounds something like No-Neck Blues Band collaborating with Wolf Eyes on a re-take of the Saragossa Manuscript soundtrack. The B-side goes further down the path paved by Olsen and co. with some metallic clanking and utterly gnarled noise eruptions.

His latest EP for Portugal's Pluie/Noir Recordings, however, goes a little bit further out into the depths of space, a two-track journey using techno only as a rough guideline to work from. The title track "Sinister" carries a half-time groove and a load of eerie, wavy sonics with a playful edge, while "Atest" hints at a more structured groove but rapidly breaks down into a rough n' ready experimentation of stripped back percussion and distant vocal sample. Deep and ethereal.

Officially a set of remixes of one song - 'We Persuade Ourselves We Are Immortal' - the album is formatted as a seamless, mixtape style musical journey in which recurring musical themes (think melodies, choral vocals, lyrical phrases and orchestral arrangements) slip in and out of ambient soundscapes, dub-influenced electronic beats, psych-rock workouts, crackly samples, field recordings and Lord knows what else. It features a stunningly epic cast of guest musicians, producers, remixes and obscure psychedelic bands, with the result being a brilliant collaborative work that sounds a little like a 21st century rock opera.

There is more calm from Kali Malon who keeps it strictly ambient and Carlo Maria approximates peak time melodic techno but from a much more artistic rather than narcotic point of view.

Jac Berrocal, David Fenech and Vincent Epplay create what could almost be considered to be a horror soundtrack. Surrounded by dreary, morphed vocals, there are strands of upbeat instrumentation such as on "Panic In Bali" and almost jazzy landscapes on pieces like "Where Flamingoes Fly". This is a 360 degree spin through the cycle, dig in and check it for yourself. Another daring release from Blackest Ever Black which is highly recommended.

Review: Croatian Amor and Varg2TM's latest collaborative release, Body of Content, may well be their most triumphant excursion yet. Made during lockdown via the exchanging of sounds, rhythms, vocals and melodies, it features a huge cast-list of collaborators and, in the words of the Wire style wordsmiths at the Posh Isolation label, "embraces the novel unions and arrangements of our digital world". We're unsure exactly what this means, but what's on offer is a series of luminous experimental pop songs in which modified, future R&B vocals are variously combined with layered ambient sounds, experimental electronic textures, bubbling, club-ready post hip-hop rhythms, Hudson Mohawke style synth splashes and much more besides. It may or may not end up being a significant release, but it certainly sounds like one.

Review: Belgian artist and producer DJ Athome has put together this compilation for Musique Pour La Danse with the intention of highlighting the niche UK fesitval scene between 1986 and 1996. It was a time when psychedelic dub, space rock, and early electronica were all in collision with each other as people took ever more mind altering drugs and partied in spiritual locations like Stonehenge. Listening to the sounds takes you there in an instant with weird and wonderful bongos, didgeridoos, new age melodies, world music and non-Western influences all feeding into the tracks. As much as this is a reminder of the good time for those who were there, it's also a brilliant collection for newcomers with an interest in musical history.

Review: So far, the ICI collective have put out one compilation per year, with the first two in the series coming from Debruit. For 2017's edition, the designer electronics stable comes through with a various artists work, preferring to expand on their illustrious catalogue of electronic sounds rather than focusing on a specific sub-genre or sound. There's plenty to discover in here because, much like you, we're coming across these artists for the first time ever. As a caveat, while each tune is undeniably made of different textures, there is something slow and moody that ties them all together; Balearic seems to be the heart of the machine for most of these deep scorchers, reminding us of the sort of DJ sets emanating from the Red Light crew, out of the DAM.

A Year Has Gone By
Red Opium
Bejeweled Body
Review: Hospital Productions is a non-stop operation and following this year's long-players from Alessandro Cortini, Ninos Du Brasil and Ron Morelli, Vatican Shadow's latest swoop is this ambient album produced with Function. The seven-track LP was recorded between Berlin and New York, and it's described as best suited for after-hours home listening, but whether you really want to listen to this after a big night is up to you. Indeed "A Year Has Passed" and "A Year Has Gone By" are downbeat and melancholic, whereas other tracks lean more towards industrial ambient, similar to fellow Hospital artist Lussuria's work. "The Nemesis Flower" is a darker highlight while "Red Opium" and "Bejewelled Body" is where the house and techno beats lie.

Review: Way back in 2002, Californian rock experimentalists Isis released Oceanic, their second full-length exploration of bleak and hypnotic, post-rock noise. Two years later, a remixed version appeared, with an impressive collection of experimental electronic talents taking it in turns to put their stamp on the band's angry tracks. 12 years on, it's been given the reissue treatment. It remains a hugely entertaining and immersive set, with highlights including Tomas Koner's dense, drone-inspired interpretation of "Hym" [sic], Mike Patton's evocative, occasionally twinkling take on "Maritime", Venetian Snares' surprisingly muted remix of "The Beginning & The End", and the post-rock-goes-ambient brilliance of Tim Hecker's 'first version' of "Carry".

Review: He might be in the autumn of his career but Jean Michel Jarre remains an innovator in the field of electronic music. His last album in 2022, Oxymore, was another pioneering exploration of rhythm and sound that has now been reworked alongside a series of collaborators all picked by the man himself. The nine-track selection brings wholly new perspectives to the originals which he calls "a vibrant collection of musical dialogues." An immediate standout for us is the track with Nina Kraviz which is crunchy, distorted minimal techno, while 'Epica Extension' with Brian Eno is laced up with otherworldly melodies. A great work from a mix of great artists.

Review: Second time around for Jean-Michel Jarre's 2022 album Oxymore, a loving tribute to French composer and 'music concrete' pioneer Pierre Henry. As the title suggests, this version features new remixes of album tracks (all of which feature sounds originally created by Henry) by a disparate group of musical talents. That makes for an interesting mix of interpretations, with armin Van Buuren's sizable trance translation of 'Epica' rubbing shoulders with a trippy, off-kilter electro take on 'Sex In The Machine' by Nina Kraviz, a moody Martin Gore interpretation of 'Brutalism', Irene Dresel's raw techno revision of 'Zeitgeist Botanica', and ambient pioneer Brian Eno putting his spin on 'Epica'.

Review: La Perversita is something of a seminal French underground record first released back in 1979 but still sounds way ahead of its time today. It's a concept record and collage of found sounds, guitars and synths that was designed to "sublimate sexual perversion." It comes from Jacques Pasquier who was the founder of S.C.O.P.A./Invisible Records and a key part of the alternative scene that was rife in Paris in the 70s with producer Hector Zazou amongst other creative talents and outsiders. This remastered reissue comes with extensive liner notes from people in and around the project at the time.

Review: France's Alexis Le Tan caught our eye with his recent Tele Music LP - for the legendary library label Tele Music - and has since been firmly on our radars thanks to his loose and explorative hybrid of house and ambient selections. This new remix album, however, is an unexpected treat to say the least, especially if the group behind these 'Reinterpretations' is as in-demand as this lot! First up, Antinote's DK rewires Bernard Lubat's "Super Slow Down" into a balearic chiller that would have Alfredo nodding up and down for hours on end, and the same goes for the supremely funky revisioning of "Devil Dance" from Michel Gonet. Soulwax reshape "Hot Caramel" by The Peppers into a glorious bit of slo-mo electro, whereas Velvet Season and The Hearts Of Gold manage to carve out a marvellous, psych-disco groove out of Bernard Estrady's "Rallye Du Diable". Joakim's disco-leaning, string-led refix of "Go Go Go" by Resonnance is another icing on the cake, but that is only the tip of the iceberg; more absolute gold from the likes of Zombie Zombie, LIES' Ron Morelli and I:Cube, among others, awaits the lucky buyers of this incredible LP. Warmly recommended.

Suzanne Ciani - "Paris 1971" (Lion's Drums with Roberto Musci Lost Tapes remix) (6:54)
Review: Lion's Drums full length exists as en exploration in multiple dimensions. First by challenging the notion of the album format by presenting a body of work that lies snuggly between remixes, edits and original works and secondly as a means to delve into the transcendent potential of the drum. The album sets the tone by putting these two concepts fully on display with its hypnotic chant, swaying one into ease over the first two songs. In orderly cue folding and unfolding, meditatively through, melodies as muddied pastelle whispers cast over the measured language of the drum. Breaking away from the musing themes of the opening songs we find an ecstatic ritual in "Tanz der Korperlinge" and "Journey to Middle Earth", two distinct varieties but both of the same perennial species. Inky ether seeps back in through the second half of the album with a peak of frenzied tumbling toms and incongruous textures hovering above in the Manos Tsangaris' collaboration "Crying Tafel" and his re-imagining of Tullio De Piscopo's unhinged drum excursion "Fastness". The closing exemplifies the edit/remix/original ethos proposed for this work with Lions Drums drawing from tapes and original material of electronic pioneers Suzanne Ciani and Roberto Musci. Drawing from unreleased music and song sketches by the original artists as well as field recordings from travels & studio sessions made by Roberto Musci & Manos Tsangaris in the 80's and early 90's he constructs a side winding journey through playful textures and ethereal moods.

Review: If you've got even the slightest interest in the cutting edge, synthesizer-heavy Tokyo scene of the 1980s, this killer compilation from Japanese music crate-digger Nick Luscombe and Wewantsounds is simply essential. It features tracks plucked from the vaults of cult labels Nippon Columbia and Better Days, with Luscombe offering up inspired selections that variously touch on deep synth-pop, electro, post-punk experimentation, jazz-funk, ambient and what would now be classic as Balearica. It's such a good collection that we're finding picking highlights difficult, though our current faves include the disco-tinged punk-funk of Juicy Fruits' 'Jenie Gets Angry', the slow-motion jazz-funk of Yumi Murata, Chiko Asamoto's smooth and sensual synth-pop, and the synth-reggae eccentricity of Akira Sakata.

Voision Xi - "Poin Poin" (5:36)
RGL & SAUCE81 - "Never Gonna Stop" (long mix) (8:05)
Review: There's serenity in big, generous spades across all four tracks on this rather tempting proposition from the folk at Eating Music. While things do move beyond the kind of tones Mogwaa (not to be confused with Mogwai) offer up on 'Gravity', a tune built from slowly morphing synth refrains and little else, the opener sets the tone for pleasantries to come. Simply put, nobody is coming away from this without a smile.

Kai Luen's 'Why Aren't You Sleeping' picks up where the aforementioned sunrise tune-up left us, a kind of plink-y plonk-y approach to notes invoking an almost acid house feel, only in an ambient guise. 'Poin Poin' goes down a lo-fi downtempo route, jazz flourishes and compressed beats marking this out as a beach bar anthem in the making. And the same can be said for 'Never Gonna Stop' by RG and Sauce 81. Top stuff.

This lesser known side of their output is explored on Be Music, which gathers together cuts from that period - mostly released on Factory Records - alongside more recent remixes for the likes of Tim Burgess and Factory Floor. There are plenty of stone cold classics present, including Marcel King's wide-eyed Hacienda classic "Reach for Love", Section 52's "Looking From A Hilltop (Megamix)", the bubbly, Freestyle influenced synth-pop of The Beat Club's "Security (Remix)" and the throbbing brilliance of "Bootsy (Swingfire Mix)" by A Certain Ratio.

Everything that this man has releases recently has left us wanting more, and this is thanks to the diversity of his ideas and skills, often blending different or even opposing sounds with beautiful results. Now things are easing, he's decided to deliver a CD version, mixing together a handful of his own unreleased productions with all manner of deep, melodic, atmospheric and smile-inducing treats. While it's musically and rhythmically diverse - within the first handful of tunes you'll hear breakbeat, two-step, deep tech-house and electronica beats - and boasts more bass-weight than you might expect, the focus is on sofa-bound listening, with bright and breezy electronics, warming chords and lilting instrumentation catching the ear. Combine this with Sasha's impeccable track selections and you have a genuinely entertaining mix.

It's a compilation that boasts some of his own cuts, alongside edits and reworks by friends of tracks described by Bueau B as "hits that never took the charts by storm". Here the album gets the reissue treatment, which should please those who haven't got the money to pay the high prices that original copies now demand online. The percussionist went on to compose and produce countless other solo albums, but none are quite as magical and on-point as the peerless Antico Adagia. Grab a copy while you still can.

Review: Nobody ever comes out and says "you have to spend three days living in a yurt in the Welsh wilderness to make a good album", but clearly the move can help your efforts. Just add some analogue and digital synths, and a thought process in line with that of Lucie st?pankova (AKA Avsluta) and Christian Duka, here working together for the first time under the name Vadin.

What a murky world they lure us into. From the chilling opening moments on 'The Seven Laws', all moorland whispers in the digital mist, through the warbling sci-fi consoles of 'Merging' and the tribalistic ritualism that seems to drive 'Sufi Trance', it's as wild as the conditions it was made in, and as transcendent as that experience will have been for the pair involved.

Review: After a storied recording career that has so far taken in albums for Further, Mathematics and Danyy Wolfers Strange Life label, Spanish artist Vagon Brei added label boss to his CV earlier this year with launch of Mystic & Quantum. Record labels come and go but few arrive driven a real specific concept in a way that Mystic & Quantum are with each album length release conceived to show stories of "adventures, magic, science". Having launched in auspicious fashion with albums from DMX KREW and San Laurentino, Vagon Brei helms the third release with a nine track set entitled The Secret Of Swamp Castle. Seemingly taking influence from Giallo Horror, Brei's album comes across as a compelling collection of synth explorations that will have you returning again and again in order to uncover the Swamp Castle's secrets.

Review: Finnish experimentalist Mika Vainio always continues to surprise and amaze with each new release, managing to always re-invent hi sound and go beyond his peers. Kilo comes courtesy of Blast First Petite - finally available here on vinyl following its digital release in July - and goes through ten tracks of Vainio's finest drone manipulations via way of complex beat-driven machinics. Everything from the opener "Cargo" to tracks like "Cranes" or "Sub-Atlantic" and even "Wreck" display a a more aggressive side of Vainio that harks back to his classic work with Pan Sonic, albeit with a more explicit industrial techno fury. Highly recommended!
