Review: The first release on the freshly minted Molt label is special on a number of levels, not least a transparent marbled vinyl pressing and the inclusion of ten specially prepared locked-grooves from lead artist DB1. He also provides two superb A-side cuts too: the hissing, deep space hum of "Late Night" - a fine fusion of abstract electronics, dub techno and pitched-down grooves - and the abrasive, slowly shifting ambient creepiness of "Tone". Over on side B, DYL offers up a wonderfully creepy slab of sparse, minimalist and metallic techno/bass music fusion while Paragon delivers a druggy trip into alien electronics and strange, sludgy beats and abstract sounds.

Beachcombing (with Gabriel Gurnsey & Nik Colk Void)
C Side (with Dominic Butler)
Review: The unlikely collaboration between London-based industrial synth act Factory Floor and cult New York disco producer Peter Gordon finds a perfect home on the eminently wide ranging Optimo Music label with the long promised Beachcombing 12". This release apparently originated in heart warming circumstances when Factory Floor's Nik Void penned a letter to Gordon expressing her admiration for his distinguished work. From here, a blossoming partnership was struck up with Void sending Gordon a track which he then overdubbed with saxophones and analogue and digital synths before fellow Factory Floorer Gabe Gurnsey added his own rhythmic input to the gloriously sanguine 15 minutes of trippy cosmic psychedelics. Not to be outdone, Factory Floor's other member Dominic Butler is involved on the flipside track "C Side" which in a bizarro world could be the soundtrack to a Baywatch reboot. It's great to see Factory Floor collaborating with such a legend and demonstrating a capacity for music other than thunderous, industrial repetition.

Review: The Giegling label is no stranger to implementing conceptual ideas within the constructs of their output and Sudstadt EP, their 12th release, offers an intriguing central idea. Each of the four producers here - Giegling regulars Vril, Prince Of Denmark and Leafar Legov along with debutant Herr Koreander - grew up in Hannover and this 12" offers them a chance to portray their individual memories through the medium of music. Legov and Koreander commence and end the release in experimental fashion and sandwiched in-between is some of Giegling's most eminently danceable output yet from Vril and Prince Of Denmark.

Review: Here's a rare treat for fans of the late, great Mika Vainio: the first ever release of a recently re-discovered soundtrack he created (both solo, as "O", and alongside Ilpo Vaisanen and Sami Salo as Pan Sonic) for Jimi Tenor's long-forgotten 1994 experimental film, "Sahko: The Movie". Fans will love it: the solo "O" material, showcased on the A side, is icy, hypnotic and often bleep-laden ambient techno of the sort Vainio excelled at earlier in his career. The Pan Sonic material on the flipside, meanwhile, is deep, droning and mind-altering electro-acoustic ambience that's up there with the very best of their work. In other words, you need this in your life.

P-SH - "Zsyamono's Odo Message From Flaming Trixx"
Fitz Ellarald - "Simulacre Uno"
Review: Since 2012, Russia's Udacha label has been providing us with consistently excellent levels of grainy deep house, a particular strand of the genre that easily moulds into something altogether more ethereal and abstract. Newcomer P-SH constructs a beatless sway of placid harmonics on "Wee See The Island", followed by the minimal tribal rattle of percussion called "Mappa Mundi" by Fitz Ellarald. On the flip, "Zsyamono's Odo Message From Flaming Trixx" is hard to describe because of its constantly shifting bundle of sounds and sonics, and "Sumlacre Uno" by Ellarald ties thigns off with a beatless, spaced-out sway powered by a subtle collection of field recordings. Weird and wonderful - TIP!

Review: Pact Infernal, whoever they may be, hasn't exactly had the quietest of debuts. Right after his inaugural release on Samurai Horo, the mighty Lucy stepped in for a remix EP as a follow-up, and now he's back with the second instalment of The Descent series. As with the first release, Pact Infernal's sound blurs the lines between techno, post-futuristic d&b, and drone. In fact, the three genres are so tightly woven together that this gear almost feels like a new genre in itself. As you might gather, that is precisely the sort of vision we like to see from electronic music artists, and it's also what makes us proud to work in a field that's constantly in a state of flux. From "Circle V (Anger)" to "Circle IX (Treachery)", we're thrown headfirst into a dark and grainy world of chilling sonics inhospitable harmonics; the perfect sort of stuff to give you a good old mind-bender. Total brain dynamite.

Colddrinksnreverse (2:40)
Review: There's not much info on the ground regarding this new Paid Reach label, but the involvement of one Gunnar Wendel will mean there are plenty out there wanting to check it out. First surfacing towards the end of Lowtec's great RA 439 podcast for Resident Advisor last year, Paid Reach is described as a "collaboration" with Wendel's Ominira label and features two tracks "edited and produced" by Wendel. Both "Fair Trade Dark" and "Colddrinksnreverse" exist at the more abstract end of the electronic music scale, with the former little more than playfully toying with a modulated loop. "Colddrinksnreverse" meanwhile is around three minutes of phased and phucked vocal samples. Excellent mixtape material basically.

They collaborate for the second time since their first EP together on Gravity Graffiti last year. The Palta Og Ti Pa Den Tolvte O EP is a nice trip if we do say so ourselves. From the deep tribal atmospherica of "Pa Hovedet I Seng" (calling to mind Porn Sword Tobacco & SVN's Recording sessions) or the beatless cosmic experience of "Forarets Skorhed" which is perfect for those moments of travelling without moving. More great stuff from this terrific label after standout releases by Ramzi, Cru Server and X.Y.R. in recent times.

Track 1 (Zoviet France remix) (13:07)
Track 2 (Muslimgauze remix) (4:27)
Track 3 (Muslimgauze remix) (7:48)
Review: Here's something to stir the hearts of all fans of Mika Vainio and Ilpo Vaisanen's Panasonic/Pansonic project: a trio of long-lost remixes that were created, but for some reason never released, way back in 1996. Side A boasts an epic revision from long-serving Newcastle experimentalists Zoviet France, who turn an untitled Panasonic production into a ghostly trip through hypnotic, minimalist techno territory - all unearthly aural textures, drifting synth sounds and hazy, locked-in drums. Over on side B there's a pair of rare remix outings from the sadly departed Bryn Jones AKA Muslimgauze. He first wraps vocal sounds and twisted electronics around a raw analogue techno groove, before offering up one of his impeccable experimental ambient dub workouts. Of the two, this is undoubtedly the most mesmerising.

Review: With beats as sharp as her fringe, Panda's making some serious ripples in bass circles right now. Barbed with a moody Two Lone Swordsmen vibe, "Return Of The Snake" is a menacing homage to classic electro, "Pure Juice" is heavier on the synths with crisp, icy licks while Chunka's reboot of "Overlondon" takes Panda down a take path and woes her with satanic sonic soliloquies. Uncompromisingly dark and delicious.

These four curious and eerie cosmic journeys are quite gorgeous in their own right. "Pohjast Pinnani" will transport you back to the 70's in psychedelic fashion with its rich tapestries of vintage synth solos and modular bliss. We particularly enjoyed also the trippy farfisa melodies on the epic journey that is "Rattasoit" and the epic closer "Oueuni (Paar Tundi Enne Koitu)" this one's for the real space cowboys!

Review: Lately, Quentin Vandewalle's Antinote label has swung between fiendishly out-there synth-wave and the rugged, retro-futurist revivalist gear of house eccentric Geena. Curiously, this label debut from the little-known producer Panoptique touches on both sounds. Title track "Boiler Broom" (we chuckled, at least) is dark and exotic, with bubbling acid lines and held-note chords reclining seductively over a hissing drum machine groove. It's robust and forthright, but there's a subtlety to the composition and production that makes it particularly engaging. Flip to the B and you'll find two downtempo compositions; the Boards of Canada-ish warmth of "Interlude 1" and the gently rhythmic, horror-influenced swirl of "Interlude 2".

Review: This is the unique sound of respected experimentalist (Florian Meyer AKA Don't DJ) colliding with psy-trance veteran Volker Wiesmann AKA Paraklang) via an interest in the more unchartered polyrhythmic territories. "Chuwangk Kyuh Hay" is the most tribal and floor-focused of the collection with its rounded drums ricocheting and playing off each other. "N Bun Kan Kan" takes a slight side-step to the left of the dance with its dizzying layers of percussion while "Gonyungk Wadt" is a complete flip into sound design territory. Prepare for audio illusions.

Review: Alphacut...just a drum and bass label? Think again. The German operation has, yes, been a lynchpin within German drum and bass for more than a decade, but it's their Alpha Cutauri series that's entering the outer limits of experimental sounds, that in a hazy, minute kind of way are vaguely linked to the world of drum and bass. But don't mention this to the artists who have appeared on the series, people like Felix K, Elemental, Sub, and now Paranoid Society. Moreover, trying to explain how this music sounds is almost a waste of time, so best grasp it yourself while it's still there.

Review: Known as much for their boutique fashion label as they are for their music, Passarella Death Squad's innovative approach to the latter has never really got them the attention it deserves. Having released the majority of their music through George Issakidas' Republic of Desire label, Passarella Death Squad add the under rated Days Of Being Wild label to their discography with the Giant EP. The neon vibes that emanate from the sleeve art are a good indicator of what to expect here with Emilie Albisser's vocals adding an element of disaffected coldness that works as a nice contrast to the fluttering warmth of the Italo via Cocteau Twins style musical arrangements. Final track "untitled" is breath taking!

Ruben Patino - "Strategies On Self Promotion & Autoreferentiality" (10:45)
No God Ritual - "Understanding Is Compression" (9:07)
Review: Athens-based Hypermedium label got off to a cracking start last year thanks to a debut release by Evol. They're back now with a double-header by the emerging electronic duo Patino and No God Ritual, the former hailing from Spain and the latter being a Greek compatriot to the label heads. Patino's A side, "Strategies On Self Promotion & Autoreferentiality" explores the blurred lines between archaic electronics and noise music, creating a delightful groove out of basic elements which, together with a methodical arrangement, sound playful and compelling. No God Ritual resides on the flipside, and his "Understanding Is Compression" follows a similarly loose, bric-a-brac style of production that blends a myriad of different styles and moods together under one groove...or something that represents one. Whatever you want to label it as, we think it's some seriously dope material.

Review: NYC's Patricia is one of the most hyped artists of the moment, let's be honest. But it's all worth it right? His last release, Body Issues was one of the most celebrated releases of last year, and rightly so. Rest assured that this follows in suit. Six cuts of haunting and subterranean groove that will shock you to your core. Opening track "Mercury In Retrograde" makes it clear from the get go with its morose and cavernous groove assisted by the most rusty of analogue rhythm patterns. Just in case you hadn't caught onto his vibe, "Life Is a Hideous Thing" spells out his modus operandi loud and clear with its gothic take on stripped back early Chicago house in all its lo-fi glory while "Needs A Nap" features the most tunnelling, almost Jeff Mills like melody transporting you into the abyss. This time they recruit local chanteuse Josa Peit for some some jazzy electronic business on The Constellation EP and there's some good tracks on here. Title track "Constellation" is a dark, dusty low slung groove featuring her haunting and soulful vocals. It gets the remix treatment too. Firstly by local heroes Max Graef and Glenn Astro who give it an injection of their typical low-fi urban soul. Then Dutch legend Dexter steps up to do a remix of said track that stays on the R&B tip in charming fashion complete with soaring keys and trap style snares to interesting effect.

The band offers up three 'dystopian pop songs' spanning from the futuristic, villainous R&B of "What I Gotta Do" to the trance-filled breakbeat of "Rattlesnake". Saarbrucken's finest Roger 23 delivers two versions of the title track; the "Under Influence Of Red Nasty Nyponsoppa Disco mix" is a dark and strobed-out epic while the second (Controversy Turning dirty Super dub) is jacking analogue house that would make even Jamal Moss or John Heckle stand up and notice. The killer EP closes out with a droning hypnotic techno version of "Rattlesnake" (Physical Therapy Watersports On Hard Surfaces Only mix).

Starting off on the A side is Penelope's Fiance from Thessaloniki, who serves up a lo-fi and coldwave perspective of the Boards Of Canada on "Run & Gun", while Italians Rawmance and Security team up on the slo-mo EBM mutation of "Un Bon Flic" - bringing you the sound of latter's Knick Knack Yoda burger club in Rome. Review: Having already established one sub-label in Perc Trax Ltd, Ali Wells further expands the remit of his Perc operation further with the first release on his Submit label dedicated to experimental music. Arriving with the following mission statement, "Analogue, digital, laptop, modular, field recordings, circuit-bent, vocal, and every sound source is welcome. No format, recording technology, musician, producer or band is outside of the label's horizon," it's clear Submit will have a pretty broad approach and as debut releases go, this is quite the affair. The works of celebrated German industrial act Einsturzende Neubauten the focus of attention here as Perc presents his own take on four tracks from the group's LP Kollaps. The results bear comparison with the hard edged abstracted approach of contemporary Phillitronics (Metasplice, Great Circle) and the battered, primitive electronics of CHBB though the enduring feeling is this EP proves once more how vital Perc is.

There's naturally plenty to get excited about on this latest outing under the Pessimist alias. You'll find little as claustrophobic and atmospheric as the clandestine D&B/techno fusion of spacey opener "The Empty House", while "Retrouvaille" sounds like an industrial-minded, apocalyptic take on Kowton and Peverelist's Livity Sound releases. He goes deep - and we mean really deep - into post-dubstep on the crackling, bass-heavy murk of "Aurora", before charging further into the dark on the inspired, end-of-days, bass music of "Paian". "Material Paths" has a tribal, slow release lilt to its rhythm, as a tumble of live percussion meets with computerized clicks and crackles and subtly unnerving pad tones hush out underneath. "Same Destination" takes on a less densely packed drum set and works in a few more found sound atmospherics, but still the mood is very much minimalist, letting every sound shine forth in an immaculate mix down.

Over ambient, dreamy, spacious arrangements Pilooski has invited four readers: Jarvis Cocker reads from Gustav Jung's Red Book, Judah Warsky delivers his own personal homage to the sun and moon, Narumi Herisson reads an extract from Ango Sakaguchi's No Mori No Makai No Shita while French writer Liberati reads from his own 113 Studies Of Romantic Literature. The result sits somewhere between an ageless film, radio drama and a really tripped out children's audio book. Unquestionably unique.

Review: Belgian label nacht and The Pilotwings (Louis & Guillaume) present a compilation of works created in the STELPLAATS venue in Leuven, early 2022. In November 2021, right before the second Covid lockdown. Guillaume and Louis were invited by the nacht crew in Leuven to play their first dj-set together since the start of the pandemic. At the time, the nacht crew had just received the first physical release on their brand new imprint, and the team was eager to get the record out into the world. For the second release, however, everything was possible. Before the show, somewhere between the obligatory nasal swab and the third drink, the idea of an unusual collaboration sprouted. Leuven Works compiles five tracks that flowed out of the sessions in STELPLAATS and is a testament to the week that Louis and Guillaume had under the STELPLAATS roof. During their stay, the blood brothers got looked after with love by the nacht team, who provided homemade pizzas and a well-stocked fridge full of Duvels, allowing The Pilotwings to truly root into the Leuven soil and enrich the local landscape with their colourful presence.

Now they're all being pressed to vinyl as part of an on-going series by Warp, and this collection from the always out there Ed Hanley and Andy Turner is another essential one. Their pair's love of warped synths, unsettling atmospheres and the fusion of electronic, acoustic and organic textures still sounds like it's come back from the future all the years later. "Kiterider" is particularly brain melting, but each of these tracks explores a weirdly naive and innocent sound.

Living It Out (Laurel Halo Remix)
Review: Janine Rostron's arrival on DFA as Planningtorock earlier this year with the album W will rank as one of this year's most beguiling releases, challenging ears and preconceptions in equal doses. One of the album's highlights in "Living It Up" is afforded a further remix twelve inch; with the artists commissioned here matching the first remix EP in the interesting stakes. Hot Chip's Felix Martin debuts his new Billy Lock moniker, switching the track into throbbing techno music, driven by propulsive arpeggios and Rostrom's familiar dramatic refrain. Danish troupe When Saints Go Machine offer a version that couldn't be more detached from the original, expansive and largely beatless - it makes for the kind of remix you'd never expect to hear on DFA five years ago and shows how forward thinking the label has become. This is further demonstrated on the final reimagination from New York resident Laurel Halo, delving deep into the ethereal unknown for an echo laden production that tingles the spine every bit as much as her album Hour Logic.

Circular Mechanism (Substance remix)
Review: Most recently seen contributing to Stroboscopic Artefacts' digital-only Monad series, Italian experimental techno duo Plaster move to the Sonuos label for the Circular Mechanism 12". Plaster's original version of the title track is comprised of thick, foreboding bass that intensifies in a similar manner to Rrose's classic "Waterfall", albeit with lighter percussive touches that keep the track floating above ground. On the flip, Substance turns in his own take on the track, opting for a gloomy halfstep version that tones down the bassline and makes the most of the tense atmospherics.

Review: Livity Sound's acclaimed 'Reverse' series returns with something rather special from a new name, debutant producer Ido Plumes. The label hasn't said much about the artist, but the three tracks here suggest that he or she could be a name to watch in the months and years ahead. For proof, first check the bubbly, undulating creepiness of A-side "Noise Water", where alien-sounding electronic motifs, creepy noises and mind-altering aural textures flutter around a dub-wise bassline and bustling, off-kilter groove, before admiring the sub-heavy snappiness and post-dubstep dancefloor weight of "Away From The Reign". Arguably best of all though is closing cut "Which Way Is Up", a kind of mutant future garage excursion that defies easy categorization.

This is the fourth collection of cuts from various artists of The Black Lodge multiverse. The Poetic Painter M, an alias of Nation chief Traxx, opens up the A-side with the dark late night acid of 'Elusive Clarity Of 1 Mind', followed by Pablo R Ruiz from Detroit providing the spooky lo-fi/sci-fi groove 'El Rey De Amor'. Over on the flip, Michigan's Fashion Flesh serves up a harsh experimental soundscape on 'Kisses' and closes with the tunnelling industrial funk of Fauna53's 'Jam1' (Asymmetrical weirdo orchestra edit).

Review: If you're going to rely on anyone to make the kind of music that requires pinpoint attention to detail, patience and absolute creative confidence, then musician, producer and mastering engineer Stefan Betke is always going to be pretty high on the list of options. Better known, to some at least, as Pole, anyone who grabbed a copy of his debut album releases - 1, 2 and 3 - which were reissued last year will know exactly what we're talking about.

Tanzboden EP is more of the same and that's certainly no criticism. A brand new outing for the man in question, it began with a series of loops originally created for 2020's Fading, the artist's first new album for Mute Records in over 15 years. What we get in the end is a glassy, space-age trip into the cosmos and back by way of strings, chimes and otherworldly noises, mechanical whirs and immersive rhythms.

Review: Stefan Betke: mastering maestro and dub techno legend. He's back on his own imprint with "Lurch" another excision through awe inspiring bass driven electronics woven through dense soundscapes and impeccable sound design, as always. There's a remix on the flip by man on the moment Peder Mannerfelt, of all people. Interesting choice? We thought so too, but we can certainly vouch for it! His version is equally mysterious and rich in its sound, keeping on with the dub techno aesthetic in its own way and working rather effectively.

Review: Pole's 2022 album Tempus featured one particular track, 'Stechmuck' which was centred on the sound of his dying Minimoog. It's a tidy continuation of the faulty Waldorf filter which inspired his project name in the first place, and now Stefan Betke has taken the inspiration of his broken gear further by inviting a heavyweight cast of remixers to reversion the track. You might not have expected UK electro punk agitators Sleaford Mods to be crossing paths with German minimalist dub, but here we are and the results are incendiary. Elsewhere, Rrose delivers a textbook slice of writhing, tactile techno and Alessandro Cortini brings his grandiose synth expertise to bear on the track.

Review: Sometimes the simplest ideas are those that get the greatest results. This split 12" from East London cinematic jazz combo Portico Quartet and Polish pianist Hania Rani is a fine example. The two artists exchanged tracks, with the resulting reworks appearing on this superb seven-inch. The Portico Quartet's version of Rani's 'Nest' is simply superb: a dreamy, otherworldly drift through sunrise-ready jazz in which waves of undulating analogue synthesizer sounds, immersive chords and flotation tank vocal samples flutter attractively on a breeze of languid jazz drums. Rani's interpretation of Portico Quartet's 'With, Beside, Against' is arguably even more impressive. Sparse and minimalistic, it sees her add twinkling piano motifs and her own evocative vocals to a slowly unfurling, widescreen jazz workout. In a word: stunning.

Review: Sacred Summits is an absolute beauty of a label. Specialising in unearthing odd and wonderful experimental music form all corners of the globe, they've had a tremendous couple of years in the game. The Luis Perez LP last year had to be one of our top picks and this latest scorcher from post-punk legend Colin Potter is equally as awesome. "I Couldn't Agree" is a classic, synth-led jumble of apocalyptic lyrics and raw beats, but the real jewel is on the flip in the form of "We Are So Glad", one of those tunes that you can leave on repeat. Cut-throat percussion, doomed guitar riffs and Potter's familiar prophecies riding all over it. Watch out for the upcoming LP dropping later this year!

Review: With recent releases from Zomby and Special Request to their name, XL Recordings seem to be returning to their dancefloor roots in a big way. Here, they welcome back Diagonal boss Oscar Powell, who follows up his recent "Sylvester Stallone" 12" with two more certified dancefloor bombs featuring the widely publicized sampled sounds of Steve Albini. "Insomniac" is particularly potent, drawing on EBM and industrial for inspiration. The result a distorted, vocal-laden, punky affair, like DAF or Front 242 given a 21st century makeover. Flipside "Should've Been A Drummer" is a similarly full-throttle affair - admittedly with more of a standard 4.4 swing - with ragged analogue electronics and the kind of grit-laden sonic textures for which he's renowned.

Review: Aside from a handful of tracks made available via his own website, Mark Pritchard hasn't released much in the last few years - though as this first EP as MP Productions shows, he's kept himself busy. More sharply club-focused than many of his albums, the six-track set sees him bounce between his melodious and summery take on early noughties eight-bar grime ('Be Like Water'), dreamy, high-tempo post-IDM lusciousness ('In My Heart'), next level lo-fi acid jack ('J Is For...'), child-scaring Drexciyan electro heaviness ('One Way Mirror') and an insanely percussion and bass-heavy take on gqom ('Rakatak'). The EP also includes his infamous and sough- after re-wire of LFO's 'LFO', here titled 'LFO Special', which re-imagines the bleep & Bass classic as a future dancehall anthem.

Beautiful People (alternative instrumental 1) (6:12)
Review: In more recent years, Mark Pritchard has moved further away from dubstep, and much closer to the smorgasbord of sounds and influences that is often referred to as 'electronica'. We don't mind the term because it gives us more room to interpret the music without any predefinitions, but "Beautiful People" is much more than that. Coming out courtesy of the mighty Warp, the tune is propelled forwards by Radiohead's Thom Yorke, where the legend's voice is perfectly infused with Pritchard's gentle Eastern chimes and tranquil beats. The whole track is a gentle walk into a far yet alluring sonic landscape, and this could well turn into a future classic. We already see it as a perfect accompaniment to a film, and if you're in the mood to totally zone out then you always have the instrumental cut to steer you further out into outer space.

Sold A Decade At A Time
Review: Powell's Diagonal Records label continues to plunder it's own unique sonic path, with the label debut of Prostitutes following swiftly on from that excellent Shit & Shine EP. Prostitutes is the current creative focus of James Donadio, a veteran of Cleveland's underground music scene, whose blend of blend of primitive rhythms and industrial sonics have graced Opal Tapes and Digitalis after the project's emergence with a self titled release on the artist's own stabUdown label in 2011. Fans of Container, Metasplice and Carlos Giffoni will find much that appeals in the Prostitutes approach that is demonstrated with aplomb on the Shatter and Lose EP. Indeed we'd go so far as say there are echoes of vintage Cabs in cuts like "Poison The Masses" and "Sold A Decade At A Time". As with previous Diagonal releases great attention has been paid to the sleeve art; created by Guy Featherstone and photographer Robbie Maynard, the pair tracked down two real prostitutes off the Caledonian Road in London, and overlaid their pictures on top of each other to create the striking, if disturbing, cover.

Here he re-launches it via a rather impressive return to the mighty Chiwax. Arguably the highlight is flipside "Acid Rescue", a formidably hypnotic dub techno outing rich in angular electronic pulses that runs for 14 mesmerizing minutes. That said, we're also enjoying Cinelli's A-side outings, where spacey and lo-fi electro jam "Noise Invaders" - check the wild synth solos and pitch-bend action - is followed by the deep space bleeps and sweaty ghetto-tech drums of "Cosmic War".

Review: RECOMMENDED
It's hard not to be very impressed by Glaswegian electronic experimenter Pub. According to mythology (well, the internet), he started making music at the tender age of 14, and within three years had started his own label, Ampoule Records, since going on to release for the likes of Talent Hoover, Earplug and Vertical Form, all of which should feel blessed to have him on board.

Single is basically a compendium of his trilogy of EPs on Ampoule, now 20 years young. To describe the contents as dub techno would be unfair and over-simplistic, but it's certainly not a million miles from that camp. Stripped down but strangely detailed, this is the sound of a great soundsystem revealing the hidden depths of tracks that might otherwise feel very minimal, ambient soundscapes that ebb and flow intertwined with the more dancefloor friendly efforts. In short, you will not tire of these tunes.

Seminal releases have been reissued, including 2000's Summer 12", and now we appear to have a logical follow-up in the form of Autumn. It's not clear whether this is an archival dig or something freshly brewed, but it shimmers and dances with the same vitality that has always marked out Pub's music as something truly special. There's a joyous lilt to the melodic composition here, but not without that melancholic undercurrent which has always defined the emotional impact of Pub's considered, elegant take on home-listening electronics.

Review: It's time for a new slice of Punctum style, this time residing on Germany's more explorative Summe imprint. Home to the new world order of experimental techno and IDM, the label is a perfect home to Punctum's wayward tactics in the studio, and these six mechanical pieces of electronica take the term ambient into new and more exciting zones. "Glory Bitch" kicks off with a kinetic flutter of beatless synth sounds, which gain even more movement and flow with "Uncharted" and "Quick Botta". "Tensione Fresca" goes for the moodier approach, which paves the way for the introspective, dub-driven sounds of "Innocecocchitto" and "Curve Sciolte". A blinding excursion into the ether...

It is, as you'd expect, a defiantly leftfield set, moving from intense, percussive paranoia ("Wood Canes", "Lion Lawns") to creepy, nightmarish ambience ("The Atlantic") via pin-sharp interludes ("Carolina") and fluid, melancholic IDM ("Peppermill"). For those who require a touch more dancefloor potential, there's also a delicious deep dubstep rework of "Carolina" from Aybee that should hit the spot.

As always, the vibe is offkey, freeform and buried in equal measures of low end and tension. The title track sets a woozy scene with a smothering, bewitching atmosphere before things build up in a variety of strange ways... Predictably it's rather good too, with Jenkins drifting between drowsy, gently warming dancefloor melancholia (the wonderfully bittersweet opener "Self Synchronise"), blissful and colourful IDM/4-4 techno fusion (the even better "Weather The Storm") and meandering, slow-burn ambient ("Phase B"). Review: Pye Corner Audio is a producer that at the moment bears more LPs than EPs. On the EP front, 2013 is turning into an industrious year with the multifaceted producer releasing music on the Ghostbox and Boomkat Editions labels. Now for the Hamburg-based Dekorder imprint, Pye Corner Audio presents the Conical Space EP, with the title tack combining a subtle thrum of 909 drums with Vangelis-like science fiction sounds and a night drive motif similar to Palm Highway Chase's Escape From New York LP. The B-side sees PCA remain cosmic, if not space western, with "Dusk Veiled", a track that sees patting drums gallop at a slow motion hover, while floating synths create a soundtrack to paint the mental imagery of a lone ranger, blood red skies and a three-mooned horizon.
