Review: Kevin Martin's latest offering for his very own imprint Pressure (named after the seminal album of the same name) comes in the form of a collaboration for the ages with the lead bassist from the bands Sleep and Om, Al Cisneros, owing to The Bug's penchant for working just as much with atmospheric black and drone metal bands as with dub artists and MCs. 'Rosin' is a spacey and immersive four-track EP. Cisneros helms the A with two tracks 'Rosin Immersion' and 'Dabby You', the latter of which is particularly heavy on the cavern reverb and infinity-mirror echo. The Bug's additions are newly stooped in heavyweight dub-techno-and-back-to-dub-again, with 'Fathoms' being a particularly apocalyptic track that combines pretty much all of Martin's influences into a singularly colossal image. The B2, known only as '50hz', is an even freakier version of the B1 track 'Venom', which presumably resonates even deeper at the tone of 50Hz.
